I know what you mean LaDiDaDi. I have 2 "going out" tops ie aren't block colour t-shirt type. There is nothing out there on the high street ie reasonable price! The bits I do have are from Next, they seem to be clothing me this pregnancy (last time it was Dotty P's). Am currently wearing something from Mothercare that could be classed as an old sack, it's completly shapeless and square. I'm on the lookout for a plain vest PJ top. Need the support in bed. The one I did find in Mothercare would have covered my boobs and an inch of tummy

Finally got round to doing some "baby" shopping last night. Ordered change mat, crib stand and buggy board. Bit of a bargain as Boots have them on half price at the mo. Getting DH to make DD's cotbed back into a cot today (she went into a single bed months ago) and am looking at new Nursery borders. Will then start mentally preparing for having 2 little ones soon

Got my lucozade (blood sugar) test on Monday. Hopefully can remember what to do as my mw told me there were instructions in my folder. There aren't.

Strangely, I am loving my maternity clothes, as I was so desperate not to be frumpy that I bought a load of stuff in the Isabella Oliver sale over the summer and then supplemented with some nice empire line dresses from regular shops that were a size bigger than my usual size, which seem to be holding out well. I did waste money on some maternity jeans in the Mamas and Papas sale but I don't know why as I don't like wearing trousers at the best of times and can't get to grips with the adjustable elasticated side button things. I am trying to stop myself from buying this www.asos.com/Nicole-Richie/Asos/Asos-Maternity-Button-Through-Maxi/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=747876&c id=5813&Rf-100=Dresses+-+Day&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Black as I really can't justify anymore spending. Am seriously considering trying to stay this size for the next ten years and keeping on wearing the clothes!
Good luck with blood tests and glucose tests this week everyone who is having them.

mwncigirl · 27/09/2009 14:15

I was at despairing point with maternity clothes, living in a very rural area and no shops around that sell mat clothes at all. I started looking online and discovered ebay, theres loads of cheap things so I can justify a BIG shop! What a wonderful excuse to shop!!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 27/09/2009 15:39

Hello found you!
Im currently walking with a limp, its great fun, you should try it.
Other than that I seem to be progressing well!
I have the nesting instinct with a vengence but am unable to walk much or lift anything so I have DH tiling the kitchen finally! It looks amazing so far!

Hope everyone else is feeling ok.

LaDiDaDi · 27/09/2009 17:45

I ordered 4 things from mamas and papas after posting here the other night. I was a bit at the website though as there was stuff that I liked better than that which I ordered but when I clicked on it it was all out of stock. Hope I like at least one thing when it arrives to justify the delivery charge!

We have been having loads of issues with the house, both showers are currently leaking so I've been limited to baths only which is a pita. Dp has promised me at least one functioning shower by the end of the week! On an up note though our new sofas shou;d be arriving this week and the livingroom is getting wallpapered so should look lovely. Once al of the house stuff is sorted then I'll start Xmas shopping...

GoldenSnitch · 27/09/2009 18:26

LOL, glad to see it's not just me that decides on a house overhaul as soon as they get pregnant!

We've done DS's new room this weekend and tonight is the first night he will sleep in his new single bed - my baby's not in a cot anymore! He seems excited about it all though. We bought race car bedding and curtains from Mothercare and he loves them! Bed guard won't fit on the new bed though so we're also doing first night without one! Lickily new bed is very low but I've put his old cotbed mattress on the floor just in case.

Next weekend - our room. We've just bunged our bed in there for now - too tired and achey to do anymore!

we moved!
got my anti-d injections tomorrow grrr

Claire236 · 28/09/2009 10:28

30 weeks today & happy everything is ok but really fed up with not being able to do much. Jealous of those of you who are decorating. Had friends over for a BBQ yesterday which was good & I think will probably be the last one this year. Meeting ds1 teacher tomorrow to see how he's getting on (he started school a few weeks ago)

GoldenSnitch · 28/09/2009 12:36

We'll, the iron tablets seem to be kicking in.... Without giving TMI, I am rather uncomfortable

Had to force myself to take DS to Toddler Time and swimming this morning. Got to visit a friend and take over a birthday present today too. I just want to sit and ache!

Bought myself some fig rolls to help...

Well done to those moving house, we're trying to move and its really stressful, planning a home birth but not sure where that home might be!! We've lost two houses, found another but our sale now seems dodgy..... Anyone got spare room for a birthing pool? ;)

madmissy · 28/09/2009 19:54

ooh i moved house 8 months pg with my dd2 nno fun lol

goldensnitch its no fun on iron tabs i feel for you!
try dried apricots and w/o tmi w/abix and porridge that helped me

GoldenSnitch · 28/09/2009 20:39

Thanks madmissy, will get myself some weetabix. We've got some shredded wheat too which should help.

Apparently, I can ask the doctor for something if it carries on too. I'm only 4 days into 6 weeks worth of tablets!!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 28/09/2009 20:42

I wish we could move but we have to wait a year to sort some finances out before we can sell.
I only have 2 bedrooms but luckily they are both huge so there is room for a cot in either. (hopefully lizziebump will be sleeping through the night after 2 weeks )

madmissy · 28/09/2009 20:48

ooh yes shredded wheat and yep you can lol

Milliemuffin · 29/09/2009 11:29

Hi all, are anyone's kicks getting really uncomfortable? Baby's been doing somersaults since I got up and there are bony bits poking out all over my belly and they're actually not that nice! Some of them are really uncomfortable and I'm just hoping he/she naps soon cos it's making me feel a bit queezy! I don't remember this with DS. Is it possibly a sign of a big baby???

madmissy · 29/09/2009 11:41

lol no not sign of big baby i've had with all my pg's and yep hurts! lol

anniebigpants · 29/09/2009 11:55

Yep im getting the same, some kicks, espec the ones aimed down low really hurt. I also get what feels like fingernails or toenails scaping along my bladder-ouch!
Im finding it hard to breathe properly due to LO taking up so much space.

Milliemuffin · 29/09/2009 12:08

My shower seems to have settled him, I was supposed to be wallpaper stripping this morning but really didn't feel up to it and I have to pick DS up from nursery at 1 so won't get any done til the weekend now, oh well, looks like DP's got a busy weekend ahead of him

My grant money still hasn't arrived, sent the form off on 14th sept so only just 2 weeks I suppose.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/09/2009 12:13

Oh im glad its not just me, I felt really sick last night due to the baby's movements. I couldnt remember it being this bad with DS! Its not so much the sharp kicks but the long slow dragging movements...
Especially when a limb gets dragged over the bellybutton area ahhh

Milliemuffin · 29/09/2009 12:14

Quick question, sorry to change subject - my DS will be 2ys 5mths at xmas, we're thinking of getting him the vtech smile (bit like a kiddy playstation but educational), he's so clever when it comes to gadgets and he's great at the games on my iphone and we know he'll love it and we'll obviously limit his time on it but are we pushing him too much too soon? Should we continue to let him be a baby for a bit longer or make the most of his intelligence?

madmissy · 29/09/2009 12:20

get it and see what he thinks i would. he may not get used to it for a while.

we got the camera for our dd1 and she loves that take pics of everything and has games on too, in fact shes got a good yr left yet as the games are advanced

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/09/2009 12:25

I would advise the vsmile baby if you didnt want to push him but if he is already showing an apitude to electronic games and gadgets then age wise it wouldnt last him very long.
Economically the vsmile would be the best idea because it would last him till he starts yammering for a DS.
Theres more of a variety of games for the older one than the baby one aswell.
