I agree Claire - i really know its logical in my mind but the thought of sitting here all night, waiting, at 38 weeks is maybe just a bit much. He has been entirely spotless since 'incident' iyswim. I know its the baby steps to trust thing, isn't it. Sigh.

LaDiDaDi · 18/11/2009 18:52

Hello ladies, lots of posting going on over the past few days, I think it's as everyone starts mat. leave. (I've got 7 more days at work but feeling frantic that I won't get everything done in time or I'll forget something vital and then there'll be a disaster).

My scan yesterday was fine . He's still growing on the 50th centile.

I bought one hotmilk bra for a tenner on BrandAlley a while ago. I've tried on my bras from last time and although they fit now iyswim I think that they will be too small once my milk comes in. I also got some feeding vests from H&M which are good but I got small to fit my body (and any bigger would be too big) but again I think that they might be too little for my boobs which must be quite a bit bigger than last time.

Scorps, I think you've hit the nail on the head with "baby steps to trust" but imo it sounds like your dh is wanting you to make a pretty giant leap actually. I'm not sure that I would feel happy at all with saying "yes, it's fine to go" in your situation but it's very difficult to be the one saying "No" isn't it. Is there anything that your dp could do that would make you feel happier about him going? Texting you at a set time?? Booking a taxi home in advance??

Mybox · 18/11/2009 20:24

Thanks Claire and JLFinch - I don't know what the name of the test was but I my doctor listened to the heartbeat at the start & end of my appointment and then said I had to have some monitoring to check the rate over time. Had this and the m/w said it seemed to be when the baby moved that the rate went up. I go back in two weeks but might see if I could have some more monitoring before to be sure it's ok.

Having lots of requests from my kids to have their friends round or go to their friends houses. Just don't feel up to keeping an eye on other peoples small kids as we have a dog, trees and secluded areas. If they go round to their friends then I have to get everyone out after an hour or so of being at home after school to go and collect them. No one lives in walking distance. So fending off all invites!

Mybox · 18/11/2009 20:26

Best wishes to all xxx

anniebigpants · 18/11/2009 20:38

Ive got 13 days to go and im pretty sure my waters are leaking! Ive got a pad on and am bouncing away on my ball, am having mild contractions but they have no real pattern yet! Im not going to call hospital yet, im seeing consultant tomorrow at 2pm, so if i havent gone into labour then, they probably keep me in, so im taking my hospital bags in. Im trying to stay calm, ive sent DH to bed to try and get some sleep. Thing is tomorrow is the one date i didnt want my baby to arrive on, as it is the anniversary of my mums death, she died 7 years ago, so if hes planning on coming id rather it be tonight before 12(fat chance of that) or hang on until Friday-the 20th.

Scorps · 18/11/2009 20:42

Annie, sounds exciting Waters are straw colour and do not smell though it sounds like you have a little wait yet. The 20th is a fab birthday (mine, yay!!)

I'm still 34+5 (yawn)

Milliemuffin · 18/11/2009 20:55

34+3 (bigger yawn!)

Really feeling big and uncomfortble this week and the idea that I could possibly have another 8wks to go is scaring the pants off me, especially with a 2yo who is hardly getting out at the moment so is throwing stuff and generally misbehaving, poor little man but I just dont have the energy or strength to take him out as much as I normally would.

BexJ78 · 18/11/2009 21:30

Feel miserable today. have back ache and have been woken up in the night the last two nights with period type pains which have amounted to big fat nothing. seeing MW on friday though for 38 week check, so fingers crossed!

Milliemuffin · 18/11/2009 21:46

For anyone who's bored or fancies a read I've just been reading the last few pages of the november group who are obviously having their babies and reading their stories of being early/being induced, the births are so varied, it really makes you think and knowing how they're handling the waiting and the worrying, you get my point...

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/856801-November-ladies-are-having-there-babi es-One-by-one-here?pg=37

Bex - hope you feel better soon and manage to get a good nights sleep.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 19/11/2009 08:55

My works christmas do is on the 28th Nov, which is the same date as DH and he has already said he wasnt sure about going with it being quite close to EDD. But I really want to go to mine!!!
To be fair mine is being held about a 10 minute drive from home and a 3 minute drive to the hospital! His is about an hour away in Birmingham! Not sure how im going to get away with that one though.

I seem to have got past the "god I want it out now" phase I went through last week and am quite happy to sit here and be fat and pregnant.

Milliemuffin · 19/11/2009 10:02

I think I'm just entering that phase, am starting to think having a toddler and a newborn will be easier than trying to get everything done whilst 8 months pregnant!

We've got the next 3 weekends planned to get bedrooms finished etc so by 38wks we can just sit back and put our feet up, kind of...

GoldenSnitch · 19/11/2009 10:16

I'm definitely in the "get it out" phase!

Feel lightheaded and wobbly today which is making me frustrated as I have LOADS I need to do and don't feel up to doing any of it!

CP on Monday so I hope I feel better by then else it's going to be a long 5 days away!

Mybox · 19/11/2009 11:08

MillieMuffing - you might think how much time you had now as you will be sooooo busy with your newborn & toddler!! I had a moment when I thought I'll do this once dc4 is born - but luckily finished sorting the basement as once he was born I had no time even to pop to the loo or get washed lol

Also dc5 was born the evening I had just finished packing my hospital bag. One and a half hours from me closing the bag & thinking - now three weeks to rest and do nothing. This time I'm ready for christmas, bags packed and just as well as dc5 is off sick and the others have loads happening at school.

Claire236 · 19/11/2009 15:17

Scorps - it must be hard as I would imagine it's going to be a long while before you can trust him again. Being heavily pregnant can't help either. Of course you might not be as psychotic as I am - think dh is more desperate for me to have this baby than I am.

Scorps · 19/11/2009 15:51

It is hard, I never want to fee lso vulnerable again, or tootle along thinking everythings ok when actually it really really isn't. It's hard that the man i adored hurt me so badly, when all i did wrong was love and cherish him and our marriage. I however feel differently about him now, and he knows it. I think baby steps that I am comforatable with, not him, is the way to go. He has been out since, to pubs, etc, and followed 'rules' to the letter. I want to get to a point again where i don't have to think about it - but then you could say that bit me in the ass before

I don't want Maisie to make an appearance yet - i spent between weeks 20-30 in big dark hole because of DH, and couldn't have baby room in my brain too - so I'm catching up now!! Although life is getting harder day to day, school/nursery runs, popping out to do bills, etc. Yawn.

Milliemuffin · 19/11/2009 17:02

I bought my RLTea capsules and tea bags today, 400mg capsules, I'm 34+4 so how many capsules do I take (directions say one tablet between 3 and 6 times a day) and when do I increase and how many cups a day should I have?

Milliemuffin · 19/11/2009 17:38

I've just read the many threads on this and this is my plan...

34wks 1 capsule a day
35wks 2 capsules a day
36wks 3 capsules a day
37wks 3 capsules a day plus one cup
38wks 4 capsules a day plus two cups
39wks 4 capsules a day plus three cups
40wks 5 capsules a day plus three cups
41wks wont get that far surely?

sound ok?

madmissy · 19/11/2009 21:29

my god girls im crap today
feel so ready but only 35weeks 3 days

AmazingBouncingFerret · 20/11/2009 07:54

What a bloody awful night!
Baby decided to do some aerobics or something and it was painful! I was actually crying at one point!! She was on one side of the bump only so that made even more horrible. I got all worried that she had turned round so that she was breech but then she got the most violent hiccups that made it obvious she was still head down.
I have woke up with a fit of energy so am going to brave town and finish the christmas shopping.
Wish me luck.

(Sorry to all who is feeling crap, if you are anything like me it'll pass and suddenly you'll feel all ok again)

Milliemuffin · 20/11/2009 08:52

ABF - I had a fit of energy the night before my waters went with DS, I was still wide awake at 11:30 and even offered to pick DP up from the pub at 12:30 and then when I got home i watched the last 45mins of pearl harbour, just thought I'd share that with you

GoldenSnitch · 20/11/2009 09:27

Managed to get loads done yesterday and we now look like we have bedrooms rather than rooms full of junk and decorating supplies.

Have the weekend to put downstairs to rights then we're off to CP.

Just need to get the stuff down from the loft and washed now and we'll be ready

Thought I was in labour last night......was in agony on and off for two hours...... a huge trump and it stopped.....bugger!!!!!

GoldenSnitch · 20/11/2009 09:41

My sister told me last night that my Mum is convinced I will have this baby early.

Her evidence?....My brother was due at Christmas and he was born a month early

Claire236 · 20/11/2009 09:55

Well I had what appeared to be another show this morning. dh under strict instructions not to tell anyone this time though. Felt so stupid last week having assumed I was going into labour & still being pregnant a week later. In slight pain constantly whilst still getting contractions like I have been since last Friday. Going to assume nothing more will happen & carry on as normal.

Milliemuffin · 20/11/2009 10:28

Claire - sorry for being forgetful but whats your due date? Is this your first?
