Pissing it down here too NAT! and joys of pushing buggy up hill with dd3, sans raincover, and the 2 others whinging in the rain...
Jo Jingles ok apart from one of the little shits angels there deciding to walk over and smack me in the ear . Have to say his mum copes with his shall we say 'challenging' behaviour really well, but still not exactly relaxing to see what he's going to do next!
Hi BB! Great news on scan Look forward to hearing more about how things are going when you get the chance.
Right, better go and get the waterproofs!

GruffaloSoldier · 01/05/2009 14:54

Gruffs birth story here

Its big and I have cut it down too sorry in advance!

GYo · 01/05/2009 15:12

Oh bugger, you lot chat for England!

Read up this morning and then wrote a long post thats a bit out of date, here it is anyway...

Star- Glad you got DD to settle in her cot. Last night. How is she doing? is she still under GOSH? Really not sure how we've managed the long evening sleeps! I didnt realise its quite unusual at 5.5wks! We are on a semi routine that suitd us both. Its got hints of GF about it it but no where near as rigid. Day starts at 7. Feeding 2.5 to 3hrly in the day, bath at 6ish then go into bed at 7pm. I try and get her to have two naps upstairs in the day, and she will sleep in the car if we are going somewhere. Think you mentioned the Cranial osteo, which has been a massive help as she had a really stiff neck after being wedged in my pelvis for quite a long time.

Glad cloud lifted Nat

Diege, I've been taking the iron tabs as Ses mentioned and they didnt bung me up. No idea if Im still anaemic though.. Hope you enjoyed JJ.

We are just back from our first (me and DD alone) shopping trip to a proper shopping centre! Must be the hilliest town in the south, so many steps, cobbles, curbs, annoying people... I couldnt be arsed to look at half I wanted to as it involved long diversions to ramps or silly lifts (the kind with open sides for 2 or 3 steps)... Was laughing at myself in the car on the way back! I'd better get used to it really!

Not raining here, in fact it was 19degress when I was out and v sunny... I really need to get back to pre preg size or I wont have anything to wear over the summer!

sorry i've missed loads this morning... will read again later during the next feed.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 01/05/2009 15:46

Hello GYo! Well done on your trip out to the shops

Lunch was good and then we came back and let the dogs run round in the garden for a bit together. They're now fast asleep!

Diege · 01/05/2009 16:26

Hi GRUFF, just read your birth story- sounds very dramatic and what a read!
GYO, trip out sounds great and sounds like you took things in your stride. I remember how fraught trips in the early days seemed, esp with dd1. I used to be really worried in case she cried when I was out - odd looking back on things! BTW your routine sounds pretty much GF to me
SES glad lunch was good. Did both dogs go with you?

sorkycakey · 01/05/2009 16:47

Off out tonight so haven't caught up, just checkin to see if Diege got the parcel
Just read Gruff's story .

Right, gotta get ready for Rainbows, sort tea, get changed and wash floors ready for babysitters.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 01/05/2009 16:56

Yes! We had my 2 cocker spaniels plus my friend's black lab sitting outside in the sun.
Jessie (my older one) loves sitting out in the sun but got v hot and was panting away despite having a bowl of water. When we got home we played with the hosepipe. She loves having it sprayed at her and catching it in her mouth. She got soaked and now smells of wet dog but it cooled her down!
(We didn't waste too much water honest!)

The other 2 dogs were running all round the garden after a v slobbery ball!

DH has just phoned to ask what's for tea. I have no idea!

Hope everyone has a good evening

Diege · 01/05/2009 17:09

Hi SORKY! Yes, parcel gratefully received (I did post about it arriving lower down thread just in case you missed it and thought I was being ignorant ). Off anywhere nice tonight?

Diege · 01/05/2009 17:11

SES, my pet hate is when dh asks me 'what's for tea', esp if it's a day when I've left for work before him and got back after . The usual reply from me is 'you tell me!'. I blame his mother. Don't suppose there's must excuse when I go on ML though!

Diege · 01/05/2009 17:12

What is for tea btw?

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 01/05/2009 17:23

Diege - HaHa!!!
DH is home now and suggested chicken and pasta. I really can't be bothered...
You're right though about being on ML - it's v difficult to not do all the cooking. DH used to cook once or twice a week but hasn't at all whilst I've been off. I'm thinking he'll need to make up for it in the first few weeks of having a newborn though!

Diege · 01/05/2009 17:40

Umm, could you suggest that he make it?? (best route to takeaway IMO). I must admit one of the hardest adjustments for me when at home was the domestic side of things. We's always been 50/50, and it took some effort on my part to make sure it went back to that when I went back to work...you have been warned!

tinkishappy · 01/05/2009 18:20

hi

hi nj hadnt twigged that u said wispa multi pack will have to keep eyes peeled when i do tesco shop on thursday

have just taken 3 hours to put together my first trampoline in garden looks big in our small garden just waiting for plahoue to come then can assemble in the morning

Diege · 01/05/2009 18:29

Hi TINKS! Hope the weather holds for you - your dds (well, dd1) will have a great weekend if so!

GYo · 01/05/2009 18:32

Gosh, I am worried about giving a false impression of being in control? think I only post about the good days .. now I confess swearing at all the drivers pootling along in my way on the way home as DD was crying for lunch!

Diege, really didn?t mean to be so GF oriented but we both seem to be getting on with it? will see how it pans out as she goes thru growth spurts. I found demand feeding wasn?t for me as she seemed constantly snack and never satisfied?.
Your trip to Cardiff sounds like a great excuse for a night in hotel, peaceful bath etc

Sorky ? have a great night out

Ses ? your lunch out sounds fab, glad you dogs enjoyed it too. I was like you and did the majority of the cooking and all the cleaning pre birth. Even ironed DHs shirts (no idea what came over me!) but fortunately my DH is a fab cook/ ?glory chef? so he?s done it all since the birth, though I did cook 2 nights ago and will do tonight.

Gruff ? that was some birth. Think I need to pop around with some RL brownies for you for going through all that.

Hi Tink!

lardybump · 01/05/2009 18:46

Back from check up. Really happy with what dr said, Owen is so hungry so I will go and feed him then put dd to bed and will be back to tell you all. Even though you will all be long gone by then

GYo · 01/05/2009 18:50

Glad Dr helped LB. I will be lurking waiting to hear the drs advice.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 01/05/2009 18:50

Lovely evening here. DH is outside cutting the grass. (Still nothing sorted for tea but I'll maybe go and raid the fridge for something "easy")

GYo - I've been doing DH's shirts too!! We used to get them done in bulk at the dry cleaners - washed and steamed but I just feel like I can't justify the cost at the moment.

tink - trampoline sounds fab! I'd love to have one in the garden

I seem to have caught the sun at lunchtime! My right arm has some distinct colour. Left arm obviously wasn't in the sun so much but I do seem to have a small red bumpy rash on my left hand/wrist. I know I need to keep an eye on rashes at the moment but I think I'll put this down to something from the garden or the heat atm. It's not v itchy.

Have made up the moses basket this afternoon too - looks v cute. Just missing one thing.... Oh well should arrive within the next couple of weeks I hope!

Have started a "pile" for baby's bag too. At the moment I have 3 short sleeved vests, 2 long sleeved vests, 3 sleep suits, white towel to get the smell of the baby for the dogs, Waitrose bottom butter (heard this was v good for first poo as well as later!)

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 01/05/2009 18:51

x-posted LB - glad GP was helpful though. I'll probably be lurking later...

GruffaloSoldier · 01/05/2009 20:17

Hello there!

Thanks for taking the time to read birth story! It was quite a time we had but the staff were so amazing at the hospital it really could have been so much worse. Dh said I was very calm considering DH read the thread earlier and welled up bless him.

DS is in bed so I am free hooray! We are doing GF aswell Gyo. DS was more or less following her night time routine anyway. He sleeps a bit more than she suggests in the day but we are slowly tweaking his routine and it went really well yesterday. Today has been a bit different as he had his cranial osteopathy this morning which made him very sleepy (side effect apparently) so we havent worried about it too much today.

As we are still in early days of bfeeding we are having to be lead by him a bit too as I am so worried he is not getting enough. Have been topping him up with formula and he has been taking it. Have bfed all day and topped him up at 7pm. His latch is a bit hit and miss and he seems to want to feed all the time!Although his latch has been much better today. I think we are doing ok .

Ses - bottom butter sounds lush I might have to look out for that How are you feeling about impending birth? Baby pile for bag sounds like a good start. I had an enormous labour bag packed and ended up only using the music in it, although DH ate food from it. I'm afraid I only had eyes for the gas and air and so much for moving around in labour and using the gym ball, I stayed on the bed (switching from hanging over the back and laying on my back) the whole time and refused to get off it

LB sorry that you are struggling with DS sickness glad that you have had good news from drs hope it all gets sorted for you soon.

Tink - so the shopping continues - surely you are going to have to get a bigger house soon to hold it all?

Diege - WFH sounds fab - bet you can't wait!

NJ - glad to see you're back to your old self. This mornings posts made me smile

hello to everyone els and sorry to those Ive missed

My wonderful DH is cooking his legendary fajitas now so Im salivating in anticipation.

Hope you all have a good evening!

GruffaloSoldier · 01/05/2009 20:18

oh yes and bring on the RL brownies Gyo - sounds like a plan

lardybump · 01/05/2009 20:44

Well we saw a dr and went through all the problems we have been having... He checked DS and said that the glands in his neck are up which suggests to him that the snuffling is a nasty cold on top of his usual snuffle... He agreed that the sickness shouldn't be getting worse now we are on gaviscon and that the drop was not good, however he wants to wait and see what happens over the next two weeks as he thinks that it could be his cold making the sickness worse... If in two weeks he has dropped anymore he wants me to call him and he will get me in to see the peod at local hospital as a emergency case. He will request they investigate further in case it is not reflux and also reevaluate his medication....

Every thing else at the check went well until he asked about ds pooing.... I said he hadnt pood for 2 days que DS doing a poo there and then on the bed.... But it was formed and DS cried!! So the gaviscon is bunging him up which could be why he was crying so much yesterday, so if that happens again I am to try lactulose to help DS out...

He is having another sicky day today but is so much happier it has been a breeze....

Gruff at your birth story but as sorky said next time will be a breeze...

GruffaloSoldier · 01/05/2009 20:59

LB - same thing happened to my friends baby - gaviscon made him so constipated he had to have lactulose!

re birth story - i have been advised to have elective c section for next one. would def consider it!

i have finished my fajitas they were delicious. now i have my feet up with a large small glass of wine DH is washing up and I'm considering raiding the choc store

GruffaloSoldier · 01/05/2009 21:02

ohhh look at me back in the world of MN and posting regularly

lardybump · 01/05/2009 21:16
