Moosy · 29/04/2009 10:22

Morning all

Went to the Dr yesterday as nausea/tiredness is getting silly. Have started taking lots of vitamin b6 so hopefully I'll perk up a bit soon. Am being a shit mother and shit wife DD2 keeps stroking me and saying 'I like yoooou, there, all better.', DD1 keeps moaning that I'm no fun to play with (as does DH! )

Will catch up properly when I have some energy, until then I will keep moaning and feeling sorry for myself

glaskham · 29/04/2009 11:21

Aww- moosy, i really feel for you, honestly i do... but trust me it will pass and you'll wonder what you ever moaned about!!!

Kayz- pleased DS slept well for you!!

Tink- good morning!!

Ses- TV in bed is fab isn't it??!!.....

I went to bed at 7pm last night to catch up on my sleep!! managed a good night too. DH is doing a stock take today at work so wont be home till early hrs of the morning!! I plan another 7pm bedtime with Ruby!!

Talking of Ruby.... she was weighed this morning..... she's now 5lb 9.5oz!!!! she's put on the same amount of weight on a week of just breastfeeding as she did with having 2 bottles of the catch-up formula!!! wuhooo!!!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 29/04/2009 12:05

Glask - that is absolutely brilliant news!! You must be so relieved. Well done you and well done Ruby

Moos - boo for sickness. Hope it improves. What was your previous sickness like with DDs?

LB - enjoy your lunch

Kay - yay for DS2!

I'm off to the hospital to see the first NCT baby this afternoon and then meeting up with my boss for coffee.
Then tonight, the boys from NCT are getting together to wet the new baby's head and have curry so the girls are all getting together for a catch up and take away too.
How did I ever have time to work??!

glaskham · 29/04/2009 13:20

yeah i was really relieved!! was watching the numbers come up and almost wet myself with exitement when i saw it was another 140grams she'd put on!! I then confessed to the nurse that she'd only had breastmilk since she was last weighed, and that i wasn't going to give any more formula!! She was quite happy for me to do that seeing as she'd put on no less in the same amount of time!! Ruby is now starting to follow the 0.4th centile line... so hopefully she'll start to creep up the centiles and get back to the 50th where she was at birth!!

DH is going to work soon, which will be strange him leaving so late in the day, but i'm gonna try and get the kids a nap and do some housework... hopefully my GHD's will arrive too, was expecting them yesterday!!

tinkishappy · 29/04/2009 13:34

here

Starshinetiger · 29/04/2009 16:40

Quick post and run...
Yay Ruby - fantastic news Glask, hope it continues.
Moos - it will pass and you will forget (despite anything I may have said when I was suffering last year!) and your DDs will too - but how cute of your DDs!
LB - yay for DS is putting on weight despite sickness - what super boobies you have - hope next 2 weeks show an improvement in sickiness.
Kayz - yay for good night with boys.
GYo - sounds like you have motherhood cracked - do you think the cranial osteopathy really helped? Thinking of getting DD seen (we did with DS).
Right - both napping, I should be too, but hey - dinner ready to cook and chill out time on MN is relaxing!

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all doing well. I am 22 weeks today (cannot believe how fast time is flying by) so thought it was high time I updated the list.

My horrid horrid boss took great delight in telling me today that I have always been on a temporary contract which ends at the end of August so I will get no maternity pay whatsoever. Am so gutted as it means I will have to find a new job when the baby is still tiny. The one ray of light is that I will never have to see her ever again.

Sorry for me me me.

lardybump · 29/04/2009 20:58

KK how long have you been working there? THat doesn't sound right to me..

idreamofbeanie · 29/04/2009 23:17

KK - I could be wrong but I think that as long as you are employed in the 15th week before the baby is due you are entitled to statutary maternity leave - even if it's a temp contract. It's worth checking - you don't want to miss out.

Glask and LB - Yah for LO's weight gain .

Moos - sorry you are suffering but your DDs sound sooo sweet.

Ses - your NCT group sound great - hope we meet some nice people on ours.

Kayz - hooray for a good nights sleep. People are already freaking me out with their tales of sleep deprivation - I am rubbish without sleep so I'm just pretending it won't happen.

Tink - glad to hear you haven't slowed your shopping. DDs bedrooms must be gorgeous.

Thankfully I'm finally getting over my hormonal blues and I feel normal again . It helps that I have found a house to move to so I feel a bit more organised. We are off pram shopping/browsing on Saturday - it's a bit early but we have the weekend free so we are going to the kiddicare store to have a look around as they have the Britax vigour in store. Then we are going out for a lovely meal curtesy of DPs work, he won some kind of competition. Just 2 more crappy days of work first.

Kayzr · 30/04/2009 07:50

Morning,

Glask, that is fabulous news!!! I am so pleased for you.

Kooky, That doesn't sound right. IDOB is right you should get Mat Pay if you have been working there for the 6 months before you are 25 weeks.

Another full night of sleep for DS2, I didn't sleep well because I was too hot then too cold when I threw the duvet off.

Hope everyone is well.

GYo · 30/04/2009 08:06

morning kayz - hurray for DS2 having a full night, but shame about losing the duvet !

KK- definately sounds odd, might be worth posting for advice in the employment section. flowerybeanbag is v helpful.

We had another long stretch of sleep last night, 7pm til 12.30- how do i get her to shift it the 12.30 to 7am shift?

lardybump · 30/04/2009 08:46

morning all.... is anyone else starting to worry about swine flu? I am

Kayzr · 30/04/2009 09:02

I am not at all worried. Might pop to see mum and the pigs at the weekend actually. We were all worried about bird flu a few years ago and that never happened.

lardybump · 30/04/2009 09:06

Yes but this flu can be passed from human to human where as bird flu couldn't.... I am a bit worried about it not for me but for the children...

Kayzr · 30/04/2009 09:07

Providing you don't go to Mexico you should be fine. The only people that have caught it live in or have been to Mexico.

lardybump · 30/04/2009 09:17

Yes but they are now back here. There are 8 casses in this country now.

Kayzr · 30/04/2009 09:18

But only in people that have been to Mexico. They were all on the same flight home.

tinkishappy · 30/04/2009 09:30
