Shiny new thread already!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I used the avent bags with my dd and never had any leaks. I think they stopped doing them, but the Lansinoh bags are sturdy too. Just be careful how you store the bags. I used to put them in a tupperware container in the freezer, to stop them from catching on things.

Bantam so happy for you that everything is OK. Phoning labour ward is the best thing for that sort of thing, because it needs to be checked out.

Bantam glad you have been monitored and that all looks ok. I think its always best to take these things seriously and glad to hear you are back again next week for a scan. I was quite shocked in my 1st pg when my MW took my BP at 39 weeks and it was unusually high- I didn't have any signs of pre-eclamsia but she phoned the hospital there and then for me to go in, and said to take my hospital bag as i may need to be induced! Poor DH had to leave his work's christmas lunch and join me there, but BP went down over the next couple of hours, and LO was monitored throughout.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 06/03/2009 16:27

Bantam Glad all is ok.....

All this talk of weight gain - I had a cheese & celery sandwich, massively calorific Tesco 'Finest' (ie most fattening) yoghurt, crisps, choc shortbread and a piece of bread & butter for lunch. I hadn't eaten any breakfast though so it was ok

I have made do with raw carrots and (gip if you like) raw swede this afternoon that I've been peelin' 'n' choppin' for healthsome chicken veg lentil casserole for tea (with a mountain of crusty bread and butter of course).

I don't think raw swede will assist with unexpected flatulence I have been suffering from (walking back from school yesterday, very noisy, walking upstairs, stood in shops)

Belgianchocolates · 06/03/2009 16:35

grumpy I've got the same problem. The worst is still in aquanatal. I'm forever causing bubbles to rise up, so I've resorted to standing at the back or against the wall

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 06/03/2009 16:43

belgian my DH and DD's think it's just about the funniest thing ever. I just have no idea they're going to erupt and they're LOUD

Jennster · 06/03/2009 16:58

Brilliant milk storage bottles These bottles have square sides so fit in the freezer well. They are sterile until opened and can be subsequently sterilised and reused.

Jennster · 06/03/2009 16:59

And reasonabley priced too.

Momino · 06/03/2009 17:08

since heels are now out of the question, anyone recommend flat and verrrry comfortable shoes (without looking too old) for when the weather gets too warm for Uggs (if that's going to happen )?

Momino · 06/03/2009 17:08

oh, no, accidentally ran into the cbeebies ad on this dmn page! aaargh!

Momino · 06/03/2009 17:17

Jael, i know it's useless of me to say, but try not to worry about how young you look, that is such an asset. I used to look much younger than my age and always got checked for id,etc.

I'm turning 40 this year though and feel my age is now catching up with me (or are the children taking toll ), though happy to say I've not yet had to colour my hair. still looking for the right wrinkle cream though to 'turn back the clock' .

it's a shame others may judge you on your age, and I'd love to say ignore them but it's difficult to, I know. In any case, it sounds like you're timing has been just right for you. i wish I'd had my children earlier only it didn't work out that way. i didn't settle down with my dh until 30s.

Blottedcopybook · 06/03/2009 17:22

I've just rediscovered mumsnet, am I allowed to join in this thread? :p

I'm pregnant with #4, a girl due on 28th May (which is the same due date as my last pregnancy!)

Momino · 06/03/2009 17:28

Welcome blottedcopybook! wow, no 4! I'm on no. 3 which sounds daunting let alone 4.

there is a due date list a couple of pages back if you want to add yourself to it. Otherwise, perhaps someone can do it next time it's updated.

hope you've been feeling well and look forward to chatting .

pulapula · 06/03/2009 17:30

welcome blottedcopybook. Wow no.4 . I thought i was being stupid brave having no.3. How old are your children?

llareggub · 06/03/2009 17:31

blottedcopybook welcome, the more the merrier!

jennster those bottles are just what I was after! In fact, I think I brought a few home from the hospital, so already have a few stashed away somewhere. Brill.

bantam good to see you back. Fingers crossed that you won't need anymore monitoring.

I just unpacked my new pump to give it a wash before using, and one of the valves is cracked. I'm very annoyed. It says very clearly on all of the packaging that once opened, the pump cannot be returned so I'm sure Boots will be funny about it when I take it back tomorrow. I rang Medela to see if they can send a replacement part and they shut at 4pm today. How annoying. DS is at the inlaws so this evening was the perfect opportunity to get going on my stash of milk. Grr.

On the plus side, we finished painting the nursery and we've moved the furniture back in. It looks lovely, and this baby is starting to feel real again.

Belgianchocolates · 06/03/2009 17:32

I don't know why, but our computer doesn't seem to have that annoying add everyone is on about! Hurray I suppose.

I used to get teenage mums at work saying I looked to young to be a mum (especially mum of 2), even though I was 26/27/28 ! But I think that because of my heighth I don't tend to get asked for ID.

Ballet pumps are great flat shoes and I've got my purple shiny shoes too from Clarks here they are inblue, they don't seem to have the purple version anymore.

grumpy mine are silent, but not when it's in water!!

llareggub · 06/03/2009 17:34

momimo right now I seem to be wearing my converse all star things all the time!

Belgianchocolates · 06/03/2009 17:34

jenn those are exactly the same milk storage bottles our NNU uses for EBM!

welcome blottedcopybook Wow no4. There's a few on here on pregnancy no3, but I think you've got the biggest family! What have you already got?

Blottedcopybook · 06/03/2009 17:38

Heehee! Well, I think I've worked out what's causing it now but hubby has already been marched off for that special operation to make sure this is the last one!

I've got two boys (Eldest will be 8 in June, #2 was 3 yesterday) and a girl who'll be 2 at the start of May. I figure that after coping with a 14 month age gap last time, it'll be a walk in the park this time!

Thanks for the welcome

chocolatebunnies · 06/03/2009 17:39

hey ladies,

Chocobunies

chocolatebunnies · 06/03/2009 17:48

i apologise for my appaling spelling, am a bit shook up!

divedaisy · 06/03/2009 17:50

SophieTom - welcome! I think I invited you here from another thread! Glad you found us.

Bantam - glad you're OK. Look after yourself and get straight back up there if anything happens.

I had another nose bleed this morning. That's a few in the past week... should I be worried?? It only lasts about 15 mins or so.

Again, thanks for all your congrats etc on the shop. for whoever was asking - we do skateboards & parts/accessories and BMX bikes & parts/accessories as well as some clothing. You can even buy a custom made-to-order bike off us - sold one on our first night for the bargin price of £1000!!! When we get our website the way we want it we'll hopefully sell UK wide, and maybe into Europe too. But whilst it was a lot of hard work, I really enjoy it... it gives me something to focus on and things to do to keep me occupied. The office is now at home, so I really dont need to go to the shop every day all day. I can even now think of taking some maternity leave!!

Momino - if your looking for nice face cream Liz Earle does a really lovely range. I won't use anything else as I find others really leave my face feeling tight and dry.

I'm gonna try to find that thread you were mentioning...

llareggub · 06/03/2009 17:54

chocolatebunnies congratulations!

divedaisy · 06/03/2009 17:54

chocolate - your bump ahould be well padded with all the fluid, but only you know how you feel. Are you feeling sore, tight - anything unusual??? Any abnormal discharge - blood?? Fluid?? What about your legs now? Are they working again?? If you are worried I'd go to the hosp or phone your GP out of hours.

divedaisy · 06/03/2009 17:56

Oh and welcome Blottedcopybook. I'll go and find the latest llist and update everyone on it!
