No nesting instinct here yet

Momino · 07/03/2009 14:26

no nesting either today. maybe later.

Frazzled, the clarins oil sounds lovely, sigh. i'm still worried about baths as I like them very hot so don't want to 'cook' baby. though i suppose the bump is too big now to be submerged so will escape the heat .

cheese and chutney sounds good. need to have lunch still as i ate a late breakfast.

divedaisy · 07/03/2009 14:31

I didn't get the line thing with ds either - but he was a Jan baby so maybe that's why?? - belly kept under wraps!

It was lovely this morning not to be woken by the alarm. DS came in at 8:50 - which made me think for a second in a few months I'll be up at all hours - no more lie-ins for another 5 years!!!

I am feeling very tired today and cannot get geared up to get any house work done. My mum is haveing her 65th party tomorrow and I phoned half of her family and an aunt phoned the other half. This morning mum phoned me to ask if it was at her house or mine, as my aunt told her half it was at mine!! Oh no! So I told mum that it was at hers. I do have a bigger house and it would have made sense to have it here, but dh insisted that I do not offer to 'arrange or anything' because I'd be left to do it all. So I listened to him (for once) and today I am so glad I did cos the thought of about 30-40 people coming here makes me feel sick! My house is such a mess - nesting!!!??? I'm more messing!!!

Belgianchocolates · 07/03/2009 15:31

Frazzled + spangle yes, nesting going on big time here, except most things are out of my hand and I'm just sitting here getting annoyed with dh, because he's not quicker and he thinks the birth is still a long way away. I want it all done now!! I want the house to be perfect now, not a building site!! I felt the same from about 30-32 weeks with both the others as well. The SPD is stopping me from chucking everything out of the window that's in my way and cleaning the place myself and that's makes a nesting woman very

I'm trying to talk myself into going to Morrison's now to get some stuff for dinner tonight, but I'm enjoying being alone with DD too much this afternoon. We've been having a nice cuddle while playing I spy

Sounds like nesting should be the thread title for our soon to be required thread!

Oooh how about:

nesting nesting one two three

Or is that a bit lame?

flippineck · 07/03/2009 15:57

No nesting here, even when pregnant I don't do it. I was thinking about cooking stuff for the freezer though, that's almost nesting, right?

No linea nigra either, didn't with DD either. Still got a very hairy bump though .

I've got really annoying nipples at the moment - anyone else? They seem to be permanently and very prominently sticking out (can't bring myself to say erect, it's just too ), and they itch like mad. I remember the sticky outy thing from last time, but don't remember the itching!

I'm on my own now for the week - DH is at Heathrow waiting for his flight. I'm such an idiot, I really should have asked my mum for help. DD is asleep, but she'll wake soon.

Hello again, I feel very snoozy. Had 40 winks at about 2.20 to be woken by DS crying at 2.50 - got him up from his nap, and then snoozed on the sofa til 3.50 whilst DS sat on my knee watching cbeebies in his sleeping bag- not very responsible but i did keep stirring when he stirred so i'm sure i would have noticed if he climbed down....

I like to think of May as spring, partly so it seems closer to due date! i like the nesting/baby chicks thread title even though i've got no nesting urges yet (usually dont get them until 30 weeks+ when I get excited about counting down to baby's arrival.

runningmonkey · 07/03/2009 16:58

Blimmin heck you guys can talk!

Not sure I can keep up at the moment as am so tired and really struggling at the moment. Am feeling huge and uncomfortable and panicking slightly about having 11 more weeks to go.
Too much going on in work to cope with as its exam/coursework time and (sorry Fi ) our house move is kicking off - hoping to exchange next week and move the week after which is exciting but also scary and stressful as there is so much to do. DH doesn't seem to understand that I am worrying because I jsut can't do v much in the way of lifting/moving things, my back and pelvis are getting v sore by the end of the day, which isn't helped by the fact that my job is very much 'on your feet'.

Sorry, its all a bit me me me but I feel v today.

runningmonkey · 07/03/2009 17:00

Sorry, meant to say

chocbunnies congrats on the wedding, hope we'll see some pics)

divedaisy congrats on the shop opening

bantam and choc glad you are both ok.

Hi to all the newbies and everyone else too.

runningmonkey, big hugs to you. try to give yourself a break today. sorry you're feeling down. and do watch the physical work/lifting - be careful and see if there is anyone to help you rather than you doing the physical stuff.

speaking of lifting - i only just got an email from occupational health asking me to fill out risk assessment as he 'just heard i was pregnant'! a bit late, eh?

i'm going out tonight since i'm single this weekend. don't feel like it but know I'll feel differently as soon as I'm out. I'm going to have a virgin mojito in honour of all of you who mentioned it (last week i think?). sounds refreshing.

have a good night everyone. please put your feet up and don't do any nesting cleaning!

runningmonkey · 07/03/2009 17:19

Thanks both, I know I just need a break, although its only been 2 weeks since I had a week off! I'm really looking forward to moving - think part of the problem is that I haven't been able to get anything ready for the baby as we have a one bedroom place and all the baby stuff is in boxes in the shed.

Actually, have just had a text from my brother who has some leave to take before april 1st so he's asked if we need a hand with anything. Good timing or what!?

Enjoy your night out Momino. I am going to curl up in front of crappy telly as DH is out playing snooker - has anyone seen that comic relief dancing thing? Missed last week's but the first one with the bloke from peepshow was pure genius.

Belgianchocolates · 07/03/2009 17:32

runningmonkey Must be exciting moving house, just a shame about the timing. Definitely get some friends and your brother to help. You'll make your pelvis worse if you try and lift heavy things, but you could be the 'co-ordinator' and tell people where to put things!! And you can unpack the boxes and put everything away.

I managed to extract myself from the sofa and got to the shops. When I was there, there was a big thing happening with ambulances and everything. The bread and cake isle was closed and there was a man collapsed on the floor with paramedics around him. I'm happy I didn't get there 15min earlier or I would have had to help out or something and I don't think I'd be all that useful! Dd was a bit dissapointed that she didn't get to choose a cake like I had promised her, but wasn't too upset.

I like the nesting titles: Helen I even liked your nesting nesting 1 2 3 !

momino enjoy your night out and the virgin mojitos, they're nice! and at your occupational health about them just finding out you're pregnant. I suppose at least yours have found out about your pregnancy, mine still haven't!

runningmonkey · 07/03/2009 17:43

Thanks Belgian good advice, think I will just have to be in charge of lists, directions and tea making on the day. The supermarket incident sounds scary, hope the guy is ok.

I like Helen's nesting title too!

Gert2a · 07/03/2009 18:00

Good evening all!

Welcome new people!

Just going to mention it, as no one seems to have for a while and have been using the reminders on here, to do mine... Are we all still doing our pelvic floor (or floral gap as DH insists on calling it) exercises? All together now... Squuueeeeeeze...

Glad someone else has gone a hairy belly (can't remember who it is - sorry), I'm feeling very gorilla like!

Our decorator finished the nursery yesterday. Been cot shopping today. Got it home and DH couldn't wait to erect it. So we now have lovely room looking more like it belongs to a baby. Also ordered a blind yesterday, so just a few more bits to get. Keep reminding myself that I'm only making it nice for us as baby won't be in there for months!! But still it's such a treat to do. Have never had the luxury of creating a room from scratch, everything's always been second hand, or a compromise, but very pleased we are in a position to buy some nice things.

Have a lovely evening all, we're going to the rugby club for BIL's surprise leaving do.

And remember, squeeze and hold, squeeze and hhold!

Hi dandy and spangle and also detsy (where are you?)

I like the nesting titles but also 'squeeze and hold' is pretty good too.
Better go and bath DD2 - she's covered in spaghetti bolognese and custard, not a pretty sight x

Polony · 07/03/2009 19:24

Put me down for squeeze and hold.

No need to respond to this since there was already a discussion about it and I only then looked it up out of curiosity (bad me, I know, car crash syndrome...). I read a bit of the teenage thread you were all talking about and I feel physically sick. Opinions are like arseholes.... Revolting pack mentality going on over there, I have to say one reason I love our thread is that judgements are reserved, people stick to what is relevant and constructive and treat each other with decency and respect even if we don't always agree, even if the person posting has asked for input and volunteered information about themselves which could lead to mixed views.

Now. Squeeeeeze.....

Polony · 07/03/2009 19:27

Wots going on with bold...squeeze and hold ...ta da! Bold!

sausagenmash · 07/03/2009 19:31

Its taken me about 45 minutes to catch up again!! We're all such whizzy typers!

Ok...

Andrina and Polony and Dandy - has there been any more said on home emails about meeting up? Please do include me too - dandy, if there's been any chat, could you email me? I've now FINALLY handed in my research proposal and have spent all day watching naff telly, and still feel I should be doing work! Am started to box up my folders and books! So anyway, have now got more free time on my hands... there's quite a bit of parking around Southbank...

Lazzer - still can't believe your naff old midwife!!

If the cocktails are still going, I'll have a mojito too... or a bloody mary... or a woo-woo.... or..or... siiiigh....

Bantam - glad all is ok! I had a bit of a leaky episode last night. I was fast asleep, and I was dreaming that I was at my friends house doing a wee on her loo, but was too scared to wee properly (I know, weird!) I promptly woke up, and I was a bit, um well, damp How bloody embarrassing! The shame...

Chocbunnies - congrats on your wedding plans! We're planning ours for Halloween. My parents keep threatening to dress up as Morticia and Gomez Addams - I wish they would - it would be hysterical!

Apologies if I've missed any big things - I can't quite believe that I've handed my thing in, and am all over the shop!

Has the new thread started yet, btw?

Olderbutnotwiser · 07/03/2009 19:39

Hi everyone. We are moving soon too, on the 27th of this month. Renting so at least I don't have the stress of waiting for surveys and exchanging contracts. At the moment i live about a 30 - 40 minute walk from DS3 school and another 10 minutes to DD2 nursery but once we have moved we will only be 3 minutes from school plus it has 4 bedrooms and at the moment only have 3. Not looking forward to the move it will be worth it once its done.

Took DS3 and DD2 to the beach today went rockpooling then had lunch out - such a lovely day, made the most of the sunshine

Having 5 children so far isn't as hard as it sounds. DD1 is almost 22 and left home 3 years ago. DS 1 is nearly 20 and DS2 is 17 so in theory they are self sufficient and do help out around the house, and a little with the small children. Not as difficult as having 5 or 6 say under 10.
