Diege- you pay for all the extras. Think foot muff and nest are similar prices, but quite steep - but thats bugaboo for you.

My shop did suggest the muff in place of nest - said would be as good, think if I wasnt having March baby I would have gone with just the footmuff...

kayzr · 04/02/2009 12:19

I am going through a phase of loving the name Arabella. But after starting a baby name thread and people telling me it is a bit pretentious and prissy I might cross it off my fave names list.

NJ don't worry too much - your visit will be fine! And eat something for goodness sake!

Diege it's funny that you say that because my DH is the one from the UK and he's the one that's insisting that Thea=TEE-a. As I thought, it's just him then! Our Francesca would be Frankie.

GYO isn't there a character in Ugly Betty called Gio Baby GYO might not be too far off. Although people might expect a little Japanese boy!

Astarte You're a mad woman! Please take it easy! Or are you inadvertently hoping that labour will prompt labour? also love Tea.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 04/02/2009 12:37

LOL LBOT
Not watched Ugly Betty, but might have to now

GYo actually came from my original name of GiraffeYoga but everyone shortened it to GYo so I changed it Wish there was a more interesting story!

Diege · 04/02/2009 12:47

LOVE Frankie LBOX .
KAYZ, Arabella is one of my favourite girl's names. I suppose it does have that association of being a bit 'posh', but Bella is nice too for those times you don't want to scream it across the playground . Do I detect a slight yearning for no.4 then??

Am pleased because dd2's new lunchbox has arrived. Dd1's Ben 10 one arrived yesterday, now we have dd2's Hannah Montana , so only dd3's new Barbie rucksack to arrive now!

My books have arrived too (Kitzinger and the Balaskas ones). Am childishly sniggering at all the 70s 'down below' do's and the beardie weirdie men, but am really looking forward to reading.
Oh and think I'll go with the muff!! (did you like the link there? )

kayzr · 04/02/2009 12:52

Diege I want 4 so badly!!! But if DC3 is a girl I have promised DH we will stop.

I really love India and Scarlett but I would feel like I am copying you or Astarte and LG&T.

Dizzydixies is a really good MN friend of mine and her DD3 is called Dylan and I had to send her a message to see if I could use it for DS2. She told me I was being silly though

Afternoon- sickness was a PITA this morning!!! managed some lunch though...

One of my goldfish has died too so now we only have one left- and then once he dies i'm getting rid of the tank- I can't be doing with it anymore... had fish for the last 7 years of being with DH, and the DC's used to love watching them, but haven't been bothered at all in the last year or so!! So we'll be a 5 person and 2 cat family once the fish pops his clogs!! haha!!

LBOT- your bump looks so petite to me!! if you've not seen my pics on my profile have a look- i was showing massivley at about 12wks- and i think it was Diege's DH who said that my 12wk bump pic looked like i was 7/8mths gone!! I haven't actually grown too much since though TBH... bu do remember that this is my 3rd DC, and i was a bit flabby on my tummy area from past pregnancies, so i think that contributed to my big bump so early!! Will have to get a more recent bump pic on for you to see it now!!

DH woke up and felt so drained and tired... i'm thinking its the 2 lates on a row, followed by today's late shift... He works till 8.15ish, isn't home till 9ish, then has tea, watched TV for a bit, then can never get to sleep till early hrs of the morning, so barely gets any sleep.... then on top of that he likes to take DS to nursery on late shifts as he doesn't get to see the DC's at bedtime like he would on an early.

Anyway... i felt a bit sorry for him this morning, but he's off tomorrow so can have a bit of a relaxing day...

kayzr · 04/02/2009 12:56

RIP Fishy!!

I want fish, I find them so relaxing. DH is building me a dressing table so I might get a little tank to go on there.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/02/2009 13:01

ta Kay- to be honest i've been wanting them to die off for the last 12mths or so... then everytime i give in and think they aren't gonna die i go and buy a couple more to make the tank look 'prettier' then the old ones will die!!haha!! though the 2 we had in till fishy died overnight have been in the tank for about 2-3years!! The last one is doing very well!! they are right on my PC desk too- dont have anywhere else i can put them really, so not like i can just move them.

lastboxoftampons · 04/02/2009 13:01

Kay I love Dylan. I went to school with a boy called Dylan (primary through high school)

My brother nicked some of my favorite girls' names - but not completely, just close enough to ruin the ones that I really liked - ie I love Emma, but he has an Emily and we also like Catherine but he's got a Kaitlyn, so even though we could use it she couldn't be Kate or Katie.

such pretty girls names on here! I KNOW it's going to be a boy! Oh, well, I guess we'll have another shot at it anyway!

kayzr · 04/02/2009 13:03

This one will hang on forever you know that don't you! Sod's law and all that.

I want tropical fish but I have heard they are pretty hard to look after.

I'd have a small zoo if I could. We're getting a dog, I'd like a cat, rabbit, ferret, snake, lizard and fish.

Maybe if we ever win the lottery I'll open a little animal place.

kayzr · 04/02/2009 13:04

LBOT, my SIL has used Mia which I love but DH doesn't so it isn't too bad.

OP posts:
glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/02/2009 13:10

haha- Kay i'm the same i just love my animals- have had alsorts throguh the years... The first tank I had was a tropical tank, it was a pretty big one too- set into a lovely unit with cupboards underneath and looked lovely... then when i was PG with DS i just didn't have the time to keep them anymore- There was a good few hundred £'s worth of fish in there too... One of DH's friends took it off us though so we still get to see the lovely tank- and he loves it!! We had all sorts of different funky fish in there!!

I'm wondering if i can freecycle the little tank i have and state that there is still one fish living in it so they'd have to take him too?? Freecycle dont allow the adverising of 'pets and livestock' so wondered if a single goldfish in a tank i no longer want would be allowed or not...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/02/2009 13:16

Right i'm gonna get the DC's a nap and get on with some washing and ironing... OMG did i actually say ironing??- this nesting really has got me bad!! Actually i'm desperate to hire a skip next month too so i can clear the front and back gardens aswell as have a MASSIVE house clearout before DD2 arrives!!

NatalieJane · 04/02/2009 13:17

OK it's nearly 1.15 FFS, where is she? I am going to curl up and die of starvation if she takes much longer!

Sorry about fish Glask

My never-to-be-little-girl would have been Maia, or Yasmin, or probably actually some other exotic beautiful name I haven't heard of yet. Will save all my girl names for the snails, grubs, spiders, and worms I am sure to be looking after in the summer I love my boys to bits but do they have to do the insect thing? And I have 3 rounds of it to go.....

kayzr · 04/02/2009 13:20

My boys will ignore all insects!!

Glask, you gave me the idea to look on freecycle and there was a fish tank but it has gone.

lastboxoftampons · 04/02/2009 13:25

Glask LOL about freecycling the fish! as you can imagine, they're not easy to transport! I once rode in a car from Pennsylvania to New York with one in a bucket at my feet (didn't want think it would make it through the university Christmas holidays!)

NJ I LOVE Maia - and Lila for that matter - but both pretty much rhyme with our surname so they were out before we even got started See, I'm not picky, there are tons of names that I like, I've just got crap circumstances...

kayzr · 04/02/2009 13:27

I love Evalyn but DH isn't too keen.

good thread title kay

picked dd1 up from nursery nursery car park was very icy it makes me nervous and playground was 2

NatalieJane · 04/02/2009 13:35

She's still not here

Tink, ring them and explain everything that's gone with the baby and everything, they may well let you off, if not, tell them you'll change banks, they will bow down to that no problem at the moment (the last thing they want is to lose custom)

We've still got 3" of snow on the paths, it's more or less gone on the road though, though it sounds like we are to expect more today through tomorrow

idreamofbeanie · 04/02/2009 13:44

Loving all the name ideas on here - I know it's really too early to be thinking about it but it never hurts to look.

LOL about freecycling the fish. We decided our huge tank had to go a couple of years ago and luckily DP found someone at work who wanted it. He came to collect it with his little boy who is autistic and kept asking how any fish there were. DP - who doesn't have any experience with autism - made the fatal mistake of saying about a dozen. Cue major panic when the little boy could only count 11 in the tank - he was so upset and was not leaving without his 12 fish. Fortunately I found a fish shaped tank ornament under the sink or we could have been in real trouble!

Hope HV has been NJ and you've managed to eat.

No idea about bank tink - sorry. It's so stupid though, I would be . Hope you get it sorted out.

Diege · 04/02/2009 13:46

That's odd NAT - do you have a number to ring at all to find out what's happened?

TINKS, agree, ring the bank and ask them to remove it as a good will gesture. They normally will if it's a one-off, and if not try the change banks thing. Also, think there was a ruling a while ago that banks couldn't charge more than £12 for this??

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 04/02/2009 14:15

ooh LBOT- what makes you so sure its a boy?

I was feeling pretty sure mine was at the start- but hard to know why!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 04/02/2009 14:24

Tink -sorry about bank charges... i've had same issues before with tiny amounts (was £1 at one point) and got charged 28 everytime. Drives me crackers. Sadly never got them to withdraw the charge- but worth a go
