OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Diege · 05/02/2009 11:20

Good luck with GP/midwife LB!
Oh and I think it was actually Blooming 'gone bust' Marvellous that I got my sibling t from
Have had a teeny bit more retail therapy - a sleepset from Picchu maternity (half price) at the moment girls!! Camisole top and mathcing jersey trousers.

ohsnap · 05/02/2009 11:38

Good luck at the dr/mw LB

My trip to the doc this morning was good, I have to go back for blood tests on CD21 so we can see what's going on with my crazy hormones!

Enjoy your snow days....

ohsnap · 05/02/2009 11:39

BM's site is still working, are they still trading?

Astarte · 05/02/2009 11:45

That's great news OS, I do hope everything is okay, when is that then 2 weeks?

It's now official, I'm sick of being pg!

I have just had a complete meltdown (thank god without the kids seeing) and sobbed and sobbed and sobbed.
I went to put my very swollen legs up, whilst everyone was occupied and couldn't get up for excrutiating sciatic pain, so I lay there and cried into the cushion.

Once I started I couldn't stop

I do feel a little better for it, it has to be said, but still.

I've rung the m/w and left a message for them to ring me back, I'm asking for the sweep. The thought of another potential 2.5 weeks of this is quite frankly horrifying.

So, so, so sorry for the 'me' post

Astarte · 05/02/2009 11:45

They're meant to be in administration I think OS

ohsnap · 05/02/2009 11:56

Oh dear Astarte, have you hit 'the wall'? I hope the MW is sympathetic. How is your swollen-ness today?

Your prediction was 12pm today, you have 4 minutes!!

Astarte · 05/02/2009 12:01

I think I must have OS.

4 minutes eh? It takes longer than that to get out of bed!

Swollen legs are awful. I got up at 8.30 expecting them to have gone down overnight, but nothing.
I'm only able to wear Uggs and can't fully bend my knees or ankles, so I look/feel stupid walking.

This is ridiculous, I've started to cry again .

I'm not holding my breath for the m/w ringing me back tbh.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 05/02/2009 12:04

Oh dear Astarte- hope mw can offer some support to get you going... maybe hormone changes pre labour are whats making you so emotional... that and generally being fed up with have sack of potatoes underskin

Can you rest today? no requirement to shampoo carpets?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 05/02/2009 12:06
lastboxoftampons · 05/02/2009 12:15

Oh Astarte You sound miserable, but a good cry does sometimes help and I agree with GYO maybe your hormones are gearing up for labour? Please try to rest as much as you can. And I think the sweep is a good idea! Hoping you feel better - here have a brownie!

OS Glad your visit went well. I would just make sure that CD21 is the right day for you to have the tests - it's meant to be 7 days after you ovulate, which is fine if you ovulate on CD14, but if you don't, it may be done too early. I typically didn't ov until CD18 or so. Good luck!

Just tried to ring the midwives unit at Kings and am so fed up! My booking in was nearly three weeks ago and I still haven't received my notes from my blood tests. I have an appointment with the community midwife a week from this coming Monday and apparently I'm supposed to give them to her. Couldnt' get through for ages and when I did, I coudlnt' hear the woman and I think she might've put me on hold, but all I could hear was silence that went on forever so I hung up. Now have to do the whole thing over again

Also feeling a bit worried at the moment - no reason to, but I guess no reason not to and therein lies the problem. This waiting for either movement, hearing heartbeat and/or scan bit is horrible

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 05/02/2009 12:15

Who is CL on FB, is that you LB?

Im AJ.

Astarte · 05/02/2009 12:15

I've never had a pg like this one....it's knocked me for six.

I'm never, ever doing it again....EVER!

I hate being emotional, I don't 'do' crying, I'm a Northerner ffs

thanks Gyo.

lastboxoftampons · 05/02/2009 12:16

GYO xpost, but great minds think alike on the brownies!

Astarte · 05/02/2009 12:16

CL is LB on FB, decipher that if you can.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 05/02/2009 12:18

LOL cool

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 05/02/2009 12:22

OS- glad you are getting some attention by the docs... Think brownies help TTC weirdo hormones too

LBOT- sorry you are feeling worried today, good idea to chase down midwife. Do you have a date for your 20wk scan yet?

Have you considered getting a doppler, I got the one recommended by Tink from Babymad and it was great in those early weeks. I think i used it from 17wks and never failed to find HB, but I will say what everone said to me-

people do say its a worry if you cant find a HB for a genuine reason ie it if placenta is anterior

here is link click here

ohsnap · 05/02/2009 12:26

Shhh, Astarte, don't tell anyone.

Diege · 05/02/2009 12:35

LOL OS - think that should be the offical wagon hugmeister
LOBOX, sorry for your worries - know what you mean about waiting and worrying, but I am sure that all will be well. Annoying about notes
ASTARTE, what can I say, at least it's the last! Not much consolation at the moment I know. Hope you start to feel more like your own self soon. Oh and always assumed you were a softy southerner for some reason!

tinkisluvingbeingamummyagain · 05/02/2009 12:54

saw hv dd2 has gone from 8.7lbs and 5 ozs
to 8lbs 9ozs
she started on the 75th centile is just above the 50th
trying not to obssess over her weight
dd1s was awful she started on the 25th centile and dropped to under the 0.4th centile had to see a paedatrician. she is now on the 2nd centile

ohsnap · 05/02/2009 12:58

I think so too Diege, not that we do hugs of course!

NatalieJane · 05/02/2009 13:01

Oh god, the ol' north/south divide thing again, I never know what I am anymore! We've been up here for years, my DH is born and bred, DS1 was born down south but has the northern lingo down to a t, the youngest two were born up here, I still have my southern accent, where does that leave me?!

Ast, not to make you worry, but if you can, go and get your BP checked again (don't go to chemist, go to docs) if it was up on your norm, you need careful monitoring of it (bringing back bad memories of pregnancy for me - thank you, I was starting to question that it all actually happened.... ) don't let them fob you off. If I was you, I'd ring the CMW, tell them it was up yesterday, and your still swollen and worried, they are very likely to want to keep it checked, GP's are crap at these things. Hope the hormones swing the other way and you're bouncing off the walls in an hour.

AFAIK, Blooming Marvellous, did go into administration, but they are trying to keep it going, the shops are staying open (they are trying to sell them as a going concern), and the website is going for now, though for how long, who knows?

Can't even remember who asked now but I got a big brother t-shirt from MC a couple of years ago, am sure I've seen them in there since.

Good luck this afternoon LB

Well so much for getting back yesterday, the day just went looked at the time and it was 6.10, next I looked and it was gone 8, the boys weren't in bed, we were still messing about on the wii!

It is snowing again, it's been going since we got up at 5, it's hitting the other snow that was there and just freezing over, it is like a bloody ice rink out there, I let DS1 go to school on his own after we'd crossed him over the road, the bee was incapable of keeping in a straight line the wheels weren't even turning most of the time, DS2 was slipping all over the place, damn it, I was slipping all over the place, one or all of us were going to end up on the floor. So the poor little thing went off slipping and sliding He may be nearly 7yo but he's still my baby y'know Really don't know what to do at home time, have no idea how I am supposed to get us all up the hill. I know how we're all going to get down it though - ambulances at this rate!

kayzr · 05/02/2009 13:17

Just got back from town. Its horrible out there.

Diege, I will be on my own when I go to Crufts so should be able to find my train in 12 minutes.

The Blooming marvellous website has only just started working again, I've been looking on it once a week as they have lovely baby clothes.

I am a southerner but I live in North Yorkshire. I have a yorkshire accent now.

OP posts:
ohsnap · 05/02/2009 13:21

I am a southern south westerner. My mum's from Nottingham and that's waaaaaaaaaay up north for me!

Diege · 05/02/2009 13:28

I'm neither (Welsh!) but North Wales, and live in N.W England so I think that qualifies as North

lastboxoftampons · 05/02/2009 13:41

We have no snow here Just rain, rain, rain!!!

Nat I know exactly what you mean - I have a huge fear of being the only one in my family that has a normal different accent! Must move back to the US soon! Be careful on the school run!

Speaking of the Wii - my 4yo nephew was playing on it the other day and DB and SIL weren't paying much attention. Wasn't until they checked on him in a bit that they realized he had run a mile and a half!!! SIL was very upset as she thinks he's too skinny as it is. But I keep giggling every time I think of it!

OS PIMP!!!!

GYO thank you for the link! I think I'm going to hold off as much as I can - really my next mw appointment is a week from Monday, so I should be able to hold on until then. I would love a doppler, but I'm slightly worried as to what I would do if I wasn't able to find the hb. Hopefully I'm just going through a rough patch. Besides, according to Your Pregnancy Week By Week in a few weeks DH should be able to hear the hb by placing a kitchen towel roll thingy on my stomach
