Last Jan baby, she posted het first status at about 10:15 last night...

dinkystinky · 01/02/2009 11:02

Happy February ladies and welcome back to Fruitstick and Elkiedee (good luck with the induction talk tomorrow). Also, I hear CONGRATULATIONS are due for Ms Onwards - hope all went well and look forwards to hearing details.......

LMN - fingers crossed those BH die away and little one stays put till tomorrow. Good luck to you, Swampster and MsLucy for tomorrow - hope you're stuffing yourselves full of delicious food today in advance of the compulsory starvation period and look forward to hearing news (MsLucy - you have my mobile no I think; if not let me know).

Pinktulips, Spotty, LBB - fingers crossed your nippers decide to make a break for freedom soon. LBB - I'd go for Allen too.

Questionkid - second everyone else's advice on here - if at this stage you need paracetemol, take it (just dont overdo it). Hope you're feeling abit better now.

MoS - am at the price of things in Saudi - consultants, shortbread, it all sounds like a total rip off.... no wonder you cant wait to come home. Though on the plus side, your little one is going to get a head start on their tan over ours

Rosie - glad you had a great birthday but sorry to hear about your pains. Hope you take it easy today.

Markstretch - hope the snow doesnt settle until your DH and your mum are safely back home with you.

Sorry if I missed anyone out on my uber fast thread catch up (you guys can CHAT!) - am trying to speed type while fending off a snotty vommy toddler (looks like DS has come down with ANOTHER cold, oh joy, which is triggering the chunder reflex - should be a fun drive back down to London this afternoon ) so attention not entirely on thread. Will hopefully catch up with you guys properly tomorrow when will be housebound with the snotmonster...

Damn - forgot to say, Lardy DEFINITELY get it checked out (with the precipitate labour twinges and stuff, definitely good idea to give maternity unit a call to check everything ok).

herbgarden · 01/02/2009 11:14

lardy - my waters weren't a gush - they were more of a trickle- they were clear and just didn't smell of wee. I was in denial until I got out the shower and they were trickling down my leg - get ye checked out mrs !

swampster · 01/02/2009 11:36

Well spotted, spotty.

Just had a lie-in until 10.30!!!

Really must sort out my hospital bag and birth plan today - I'm in the Last Chance Saloon now.

rosieposey · 01/02/2009 11:39

Morning everyone - LMN it does sound like its all kicking off for you, fingers crossed you can hold out till tomorrow.

Am going to get all my last minute stuff done today as intend to laze about shamelessly and arse about on the interet next week till Thurday.

Good luck for all those with C sections tomorrow, you must be soooo excited and thanks to MS for starting the positive stories CS thread - will have a nice little peruse of that later

Pink hang in there! Will send you lots of positive labour vibes and hopefully Kung Fu Panda will make his appearance very soon.

rosieposey · 01/02/2009 11:40

Congratulations onward and upward !!!!

swampster · 01/02/2009 11:58

LMN, if you would prefer a CS for whatever reason you need to get in touch with your day assessment unit (or whatever the equivalent is where you are). The will probably ask you to go straight in so they can have a look at you.

I'm under strict orders to go straight in if anything starts to happen before tomorrow - from slightly sore scar area, to waters going, to contractions...

idontbelieveit · 01/02/2009 12:17

Lardy - don't leave it until thursday. You need it sorting today!

LMN - you'd better get checked out too if you want a cs.

Off for an afternoon nap while little one sleeps.

LittleMissNorty · 01/02/2009 12:24

I'm fine....getting used to the pains now so must still be BH.....no more regular than before. Will ring labour ward if I am leaking waters (got a pad on), but after spending hours there yesterday, I'm in no rush to go back today.

Housework all done. Hospital bag done. DDs pressies wrapped......shopping delivered and put away (got told off by DH how much I'd bought )....going for shower and shave now, then off to get my mum who is staying here till Wednesday to look after DD.

Have you rung the hospital Lardy?

Neeerly3 · 01/02/2009 12:54

have we bets on the first official 'born in feb' baby?

I've been having twinges extraudinaire (sp?) since yesterday, paracetamol seems to be dulling the almost constant period type ache, so fairly sure it's just BH at the mo. however, have been nesting like made (just wiped my skirting down with a damp cloth....wots THAT about!?) and am very restless....bowels are on overdrive (that could be the jalepenos on my pizza last night though).....so who knows!

DH has taken DT's shopping so having a bit of peace, but like I say can't really sit still for long, seeing stuff that needs doing or just uncomfy......

Need to pack my hosp bag though so keeping my legs crossed until thats done, don't trust DH to remember everything!

MrsY · 01/02/2009 13:11

Pack that bag quickly, then Neerly. You may be the winner!

catstar · 01/02/2009 13:14

Just catching up on the hundreds of messages left since I last checked in!! Only had a skim but looks like action stations for a few of you . All very exciting - and welcome to the new arrivals. Can't wait til DD goes back to nursery on Tuesday and I get the chance for a proper read of what's going on.

Nothing exciting to report here. A few twinges and lots of "moistness" but seems like we're all going through that. Having a frustrating time with a vacant DH who is acting like the world will end when LO is here, but no change there. Trying not to let it get me down.

Good luck for all of you with CS's scheduled for tomorrow - I bet you can't wait to meet your babies .

Take care in the dodgy weather too. Stay warm and catch you soon xxx

mumoverseas · 01/02/2009 13:20

Lardy, agree with all the others, get it checked out.

LMN, the reason it is not getting more regular is that you are all ready to go, bags packed house cleaned etc. Bet if you weren't ready your LO would be arriving now

just a quick reminder for everyone having CS's over the next few days. Don't forget to wax/immac/shave your bikini line (lower than you think you need to) in order to avoid the nasty nurser with the bic razor attacking you

mumoverseas · 01/02/2009 13:23

ooh, just realised, Pempe hasn't been around the last few days. Another arrival perhaps?

mslucyisbeached · 01/02/2009 13:35

hello everyone - hope you're all good.
feeling totally mental today - been cleaning like a fiend and fretting about tomorrow. I know everything will be fine but my imagination has gone into total overdrive.

My cleanliness obsession has reached such epic proportions today that I agreed to "do it" because the thought of washing the sheets again was far worse than "it" itself.

Have hoovered dirt off buggy and car seat, ordered more food off tescos and packed and unpacked hospital bag numerous times. Also assembled a bumgenius and was struck by extreme cuteness.

DS staying with a friend tonight but dreading said friend coming over to pick him up first as he is one of those kids who always makes so much bloody MESS.

I normally don't care (well I do really but pretend not to) but today I fear I might SNAP.

I guess I can just blame my hormones

btw dinky have yr mobile and will text you tomorrow. I reckon this is an absolute whopper - can't remember being this big with DS even though he was 9lb7oz.

LittleMissNorty · 01/02/2009 13:38

Right, showered and shaved. Weather is dreadful here - snowing really hard, so DH gone out already to get mum....I'm definately leaking something now, so when they're back, I shall ring the hospital.....again...pretty sure I'll have to go in!

I was wondering about Pempe as well?

Hope everyone is OK and good luck to Swampy and MsLucy for tomorrow....

Hope when I'm back there are lots of babies to celebrate.

I don't know if I'm excited or bricking it

MrsY · 01/02/2009 13:44

MOS - She posted on fb yesterday that she was going to the cinema, so maybe it's just dodgy greek internet connection???

mslucy - Of course you can blame your hormones. That is the silver lining of that particular cloud!!!!!!

I'm so cold, but the snow is so pretty!

mumoverseas · 01/02/2009 13:45

just remembered something else I meant to say earlier, MS, hope the snow holds off long enough for your mother to arrive

MrsY · 01/02/2009 13:47

LMN I meant to say that I just spoke to John and he said it's snowing quite heavily and settling (he's on the orbital retail park, next to maccy d's) and wanted to warn you about the drive to your mum's. I'm glad you're nice and cosy in the warm...

LittleMissNorty · 01/02/2009 13:49

Thanks MRsY - is that where your DH works? Mine works on the same retail park....I'm fine....he's driving over to Whitstable so hopefully won't be too bad.....weather is pretty awful though.

Just gathering the last of my stuff for the hospital bag while DD watches Balamory

MrsY · 01/02/2009 14:12

Yes. He works at the Honda dealership. How about yours?

LittleMissNorty · 01/02/2009 14:16

GSE - up the back of the retail park.

He's just text me saying roads are fine. Still snowing quite heavily here.

Astarte · 01/02/2009 14:44

Good luck LMN!
Safe journey too

Just starting to snow up here, very cold today though isn't it?

Any news on LB?

I've just realised I haven't written a birth plan at all.

Neeerly3 · 01/02/2009 15:15

no birth plan here either - midwife sue round on Thursday and we going through it all then. Hope I can hold on that long, twinges have started up again alongside some extreme fanjo pain and much moistness.....
