Here's hoping more of those babies take the hint this time round!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
McDreamy · 31/01/2009 19:36

No they didn't scan me. Didn't realise they could do that.

All a bit calmer and less painful at the moment. Don't feel quite ready to have this baby just yet. Need nursing bras and a car seat yet! Haven't charged my camera, oh and my hair was a mess as I washed it this morning but hadn't dried it - would have made dreadful photos

littleboyblue · 31/01/2009 19:49

McDreamy Glad the pain has eased up a bit, does not sound pleasant.

thom I think I'll prob leave the wrapping paper then, and even take the truck out of the packaging before hand and just have it waiting in the cot with the baby when he arrives.

I replied to MrsY's thread on our last feb thread earlier today. I wonder if she saw it. May pop a few words of support on her actual thread just in case.

MarkStretch · 31/01/2009 19:56

Evening all

Haven't had time to get on much today, had a really lazy day, even went back to bed for a while this afternoon and had an hours kip which was nice.

I feel knackered today so DH and I are going to lie on the sofa and watch a film. Might as well make the most of our last few quiet evenings in!

McDreamy, I've had some sharp pains in that area too. I think it's worse when LO is on an awkward position.

IDBI- cracking norks in that photo and gorgeous girls

MarkStretch · 31/01/2009 19:58

Oh and also wanted to let you all know about this website called budget bumps

They have a lot of stuff on there and it's really cheap. I ordered some nursing vests to wear in bed- I had seen them for £30 but on that website they were £10 for a pack of 2- ordered them yesterday and they arrived this morning and are brilliant.

Might be worth a look for some of you?

littleboyblue · 31/01/2009 20:00

Thanx MS Will have a look at that after dinner.

rosieposey · 31/01/2009 20:12

IDBL what beautiful photos Really lovely!

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone - have had such a lovely day although a bit tired now.

MOS thats so rubbish about your predicament with your surgeon, sort of makes it a bit more mercinary doesnt it I really hope you get it sorted as its the last thing that you need.

LMN sorry to hear you are still so uncomfortable - poor you with a UTI - i hope the co dydramol is helping you at least a little bit.

McDreamy - glad you went and got some reasurrance, its a worry when you have unexplained pains. Lo has been really quiet today tbh and i was really close to phoning the DAU here at Great Western but i have definately felt 10 movements today so i feel a bit of a fraud phoning them. I thought i saw a post from you on a 'what to do in Swindon' thread when i was up at silly o clock this morning You said you were in old town for a meal recently, Im going to go to La Casa this evening - im really in the mood for some Mexican, Yummy!

I keep getting this really bad pain in my back and have done for the last few its sort of throbbing in my back and the back of my head and chest i wonder if its to do with bp or something - it doesnt half hurt sometimes though, feet and legs have blown up massively today as well. Anyway thats enough moaning for one evening from me!

spottyshoes · 31/01/2009 20:21

Ouch McDreamy. Glad everything is ok, hope the pain eases. I have found my scar hurts more now the baby's head has moved down, more pressure there.

LBB - hmmm i'm not sure, i'm in the minority but I would actually have gone for Alan to avoid the double-barrelled issue as wouldn't want DC's to be mistaken as different surnames. We chose our names and then realised BOTH boys and girls ones spelt something (not rude), after a few weeks of saying them out loud we have now actually changed a middle one on each

And I have wrapped the prezzies.

I'm contracting every 15mins or so now too but am sitting here twiddling my nipples I really dont want to go overdue as want my VBAC!!!

littleboyblue · 31/01/2009 20:29

spotty hope this turns into something this time! It's so frustrating isn't it?
Ds was rubbish at opening pressies at xmas, so am thinking he might be a bit more interested if he sees toy when he's pointing at baby yelling "ooosat?" in hospital ward.
That's exactly my thought with the name, that people may (although only use middle name for official docs) see it that they have different surnames. But also don't want to use Alan because I don't want to send dp's dad the message that we are holding him in a special place when he doesn't even seem bothered about ds. We drove from London to Warwickshire when ds was 3 weeks old and have been at least 3 times since, and 'grandad' hasn't even held ds, but at the same time, I'd like the name to have the same special meaning that ds's has. Maybe I'll just use dp's name or my dad's or something (will still spell LAP)

McDreamy · 31/01/2009 20:41

Rosieposey - Swindon is my home town! My parents live in Calne, I trained at PMH (the old GWH)!!!! La Casa - mmmm, my brother used to have a flat behind there - we used to frequent La Casa quite alot.

Have just had fajitas for dinner, was supposed to be going out with DH but because of todays drama have cancelled so DH made my favourite

spotty c'mon you could be our next

Off to look at IDBI's photos.

spottyshoes · 31/01/2009 20:44

Could you give 2 middles have Luke Allen 'X' P....? So it breaks up the double barrelled bit. Ikwym though, we like to have one of the names to have meaning. DS has Matthew after my brother

spottyshoes · 31/01/2009 20:46

Dont think so, just BH's as ALWAYS

littleboyblue · 31/01/2009 20:59

spotty That's a fab idea! Don't know why I didn't think of it myself.....
I'm with you on the BH front too. Given up thinking/hoping it's the real thing now. I'm sure I didn't get them to this extent with ds. The other thing that's getting a bit annoying now is feeling the hiccups right in my 'area'.

spottyshoes · 31/01/2009 21:04

Glad to be of service!

Yes hiccups are right behind my pubic bone if not a bit lower quite annoying as it happens so often but each time i'm glad as it means it's head down still !

spottyshoes · 31/01/2009 21:07

Ouch! I'm going to bed. Night all Mwoah x

PinkTulips · 31/01/2009 21:11

c'mon, if kung fu panda is going remain lodged indefinitely i need the excitement of someone else having a baby to cheer me up

ds wanted to nurse at bedtime ad told me he needed to 'coz babies drink mama milk' but it appears he's lost the ability to latch he's been feeding so little lately

it also turns out that he thinks the baby is going to go live somewhere else like the kittens we rehomed (in fact he was trying to convince me kung fu panda wanted to go live with the black kitten!) he's a bit put out to be told otherwise [sigh]

elkiedee · 31/01/2009 21:53

Hi all, as feared I'm clearly not having a January baby so I thought I'd put my head round the door here again. I expect I'll have the induction discussion/argument at my 41 week consultant's appointment this Monday coming.

LBB, I'd use Allen but maybe having another and obvious middle name between that and his surname would be useful. DS1 has my surname but has dp's surname and middle name as 2nd and 3rd middle names. We just got a lot of sarky comments about the length of his name (5 names altogether, with 1st name, 3 mid names and 1 surname) for such a small person.

LOL at pinktulips' ds thinking that baby will go and live somewhere else.

fruitstick · 31/01/2009 22:05

Can I add myself back onto the list? I joined right at the very beginning and then kept forgetting about this thread .

McDreamy · 31/01/2009 22:49

Hey Swampster how are you? Not going to ask you how you are feeling about Monday as I can imagine!

swampster · 31/01/2009 22:50
mumoverseas · 01/02/2009 05:25

morning all, no new babies then?

Before I forget, good luck to LMN, MsLucy and Swampy for tomorrow. Am very jealous, just want it over with now

LBB, ref the name dilema I like Allen and bearing in mind what you've said about the GD then why use his spelling? If you feel uncomfortable about the possibility of others being confused about it being a surname then like others have said maybe add another name in between (but then will you worry about him having an 'extra' middle name that DS1 doesn't have?)

McDreamy, sounds awful ref scar. How old is it? My last CS scar is 2.3 and although it gets a little itchy sometimes it doesn't hurt. Maybe rubbing oil/cream on it might help?

ref pressies from babies, LO has bought his big sister a lovely (boy) doll from ELC with nappies etc and I've wrapped that up to go in hospital bag for him to give her when she first visits him. Am thinking of him buying a little gift for daddy too, one of his favourite car magazines for him to read during the quiet evenings when I'm in hospital. Might have to re-mortgage the house to buy it as its crazy money in our local shop. (around £7.50) We've really been hit by silly prices here the last month or so, a combination of crap exchange rate and greedy shops. A box of shreddies last week cost me almost £6 and a box (not a big tin, a pissy little cardboard box) of walkers scottish shortbread biscuits was around £14.50! thieving arabs!

Am being very calm today about my consultant and am hoping he will be reasonable as he has always been so lovely in the past and is one of the very few saudis that was educated in the UK/USA so is not arragant like a lot of them are.
Am also relieved that DH has gone back to work today. He came home 'sick' yesterday saying he felt very achy and tired and went back to bed. Wonder how he thinks a 9 months pregnant woman with a bad back and SPD feels? don't you just love them?

Hope you all enjoy your sundays

spottyshoes · 01/02/2009 08:01

Happy Feb everyone!

Hi Elkiedee, it's very royal having 3 middles apparantly so your DS is in good(?) company Welcome over to Feb!

and Welcome again fruitstick.

Good luck with the consultant MOS and at the shortbread! I hope you didn't pay it. Can you get people to send you red cross parcels when you are out there? My aunt is in Jersey and we sent her tea and hot chocolate sachets and cereal due to the cost.

Re middle names again LBB. DS has 2 and if this is a boy it will have 2 but if it's a girl it will only have 1. I'm not bothered if they have a different amount

Well nipple twiddling obviously has some effect as I was BH'ing all the time I did it and then as soon as I stopped - nada! Not a twinge all night so for the 1st night in weeks I actually had 9 hours sleep (toilet breaks aside ) but feel like i've been hit on the head with a hammer this morning!!

Ooooooo....this time tomorrow CS ladies...... Although I didn't think all of you would actually get to the ELCS date judging by the active/teasing babies we are having on this thread!

spottyshoes · 01/02/2009 08:11

O&U DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING YOU WANT TO TELL US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

spottyshoes · 01/02/2009 08:20

So you FB at 10pm but not pop on here??

Ladies, note to you all. MN has to be your priority at ALL times. You need to be so attached that you dream about it and .... (naming no names )

In all seriousness, Big Congratulations Onwards, Hope you and the little one are managing to get some sleep. xxx

mumoverseas · 01/02/2009 08:28

ooooh, is there another baby and we've not been told? (should we be sending people to coventry for not telling us?)

Sounds like congrats to O & U?
will have to try to get on FB now. Often have problems getting on there due to the SFF (Saudi Fuck Factor!) also struggling remembering who is who in RL (baby brain?)

no spotty, hell would freeze over before I paid £14.50 for some sodding biscuits. Red cross wouldn't work sadly as the postal service here is crap and everything is opened by customs who help themselves to anything they fancy. DH is back on business next month though so I suspect he will be fully using his business class baggage allowance.
