Saurus you are entitled to be self-absorbed - I don't think any of us, however desperate we are to meet our babies, want to be going through what you have over the last couple of days!! Labour is bad enough without it dragging on in an 'is it isn't it' kind of way for days on end

On a lighter note, flapjack sounds lovely so ping some my way over the Pennines

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 10:51

Ceebee do you want raisins in your flapjack?

ceebee74 · 01/11/2008 10:52

Ooh yes please

Heartmum2Jamie · 01/11/2008 10:53

Wow, congratulations to Daisy and Pinkali.

I'm not jealous or anything.....much!!

40+3 today, quite fed up, facing a sweep that I don't want on Monday. Going to get out of the house for a while, I feel like I have cabin fever, lol! Maybe a bumpy car ride or some walking will help.

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 11:29

Hi Heartmum, that sucks, know what you mean about fed up...

I am the last person to be giving any advice at all so I'll just send you a hug and some of my world-famous virtual flapjack. ]

Ceebee, hon, you'll have to wait, the last batch got a bit overdone... Would you like a virtual g+t while you wait?

sparkletoes · 01/11/2008 11:41

Hi all!

Finally logging on after worst night's sleep ever but haey what news!!

Congrats to Pinkali and Esme how beautiful!

Also congrats to Daisy and Finlay yay he arrived!!

Morning everyone. Just getting ready for our date with James Bond...

Congratulations to Daisy and Pinkali - this is sooo exciting.

Heartmum - I might be having a sweep on Monday (probably will although still undecided) so you have my sympathies.

Cricri - when is your sweep? Is it tomorrow - don't forget to take a nighttime pad with you

Rutho - can I have a g&t too? Or a large Bailey's with ice?!

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 12:00

Mummynic you can have a White Russian if you want - loads more fun than boring old Baileys...

I do make an excellent gin and tonic, tho' - the secret it LOADS of ice, then drag a slice of lime round the rim of the glass, squeeze it over the ice and drop it in, then gin and then maybe a couple of teaspoons of tonic if you can fit them in. Mmm, cocktail porn...

If I was as good at making babies I'd be laughing. Or screaming.

Heartmum and Mummynic I don't know if my midwife is just a very gentle soul but she did me a sweep while she was doing an internal yesterday morning and I can't say that it was worse than having a smear test. Having said that, it may not have been mega-effective as I am still not a parent! Plus, I didn't find getting my bikini line waxed that painful either (might be turning into some kind of mad Viking hardass?).

Yorky · 01/11/2008 12:04

Baileys on ice - now you're talking my language!

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 12:08

Right, I'm going out shopping. Does anyone want anything picking up? Apart from the fittie at Till 3 that you've had your eye on for a while, he's mine.

God, I'm having a wacky day. All sense of the appropriate has gone out of the window.

LadyBuzz · 01/11/2008 12:15

Cngratulations to Pinkali and Esme what a lovely name.
Rutho virtual hugs to you hope it all gets started soon!

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 12:17

Thanks, Ladybuzz - G&T for you as well?

ceebee74 · 01/11/2008 12:45

Ooh BIG Baileys and ice for me please

Am sat here pondering (as you do - I clearly have too much time on my hands as DH has taken DS to MIL's for the afternoon which is usually a godsend at the weekend when I am working but as I have been at home this week and already had 4 days without DS whilst he has been at nursery, I feel a bit lost!). Anyway, was thinking about my Postnatal thread for DS - 2 years down the line, there are only about 5 or 6 of us that regularly post and a couple of others who maybe post once a month - everyone else has fallen by the wayside. It is quite sad really and I would be sad if in 2 years time, we are the same - but I know that is human nature!

Just seems sad.....anyway, feel free to get on with your days now

MonkeyMargot · 01/11/2008 12:59

Can I just say, I HATE baileys, but feel free rutho to pour me a giant G+T.
It's cold and rainy here in the big smoke. DH really irritating me today. Sitting on his arse whilst I'm hoovering and polishing etc. He says he's going to be helpful when the baby arrives, but I just don't see it at the minute .
Ceebee Would be nice if we are all still in touch when our LO's are 2! Enjoy the P+Q my love...

sparkletoes · 01/11/2008 13:03

Am sitting getting virtually sozzled on virtual G&T and Baileys.... may be answer to my insomnia girls!

Oooh imagine if we are all still in touch when these babies are two... and imagine who will be onto the next one by then!! (not me)

OP posts:
ceebee74 · 01/11/2008 13:09

Absolutely definitely not me!!

Am sat here looking at contraceptive options already - am thinking of getting an implant put in as I have been on the pill for so long (apart from the obvious breaks) and I am not sure I will be able to reliably take it with 2 youngsters around. Thought the implant would see us through till DH gets the snip next Autumn

AutumnLady · 01/11/2008 13:11

Huge congrats to Pinkali too on the arrival of Esme - we are all choosing superb names

Ooh, Rutho can I have some flapjack and a vodka soda?!! Hope things get moving soon for you.

Heartmum - you must be fed up, sending positive vibes your way

My LO has settled down so am sitting on sofa with one of my cats watching a crappy film and making the most of the quiet whilst I can!
Xx

MonkeyMargot · 01/11/2008 13:11

Ceebee how come your DH is waiting til next Autumn for the snip?
I hope to have another one without toooo much of a gap, as I'm nearly 35 and don't want to leave it too long.

MonkeyMargot · 01/11/2008 13:12

Hello autumnlady! Glad things have settled down. You must really try and enjoy your last weekend of uninterrupted time. Make the most if it! What film are you watching?

sparkletoes · 01/11/2008 13:13

LOL Ceebs!

I found my pill earlier whilst attempting to pack a hospital bag!! Can't use it if BF tho.. I was considering the mini-pill again whilst BF and then maybe the coil with the hormone (mereva?). Also like idea of something that you don't have to remember to take every day but know it can have side effects... We def can't have another one tho and certainly not in near future!

Rosa · 01/11/2008 13:14

What wonderful news- many congrats and welcome to the New babies - Lovely names
Rutho send the gin over sounds lovely - doc did suggest I had red wine as slighly anaemic - maybe could try the gin instead ???
ceebee- relax put your feet up get large pack of chocolate and enjoy the peace am
I have dh with a man cold / flu and dd 2.8 with a poo block - she is potty trained but has taken 1 huge step backwards and refusing point blank to poo - have tried , veg , prunes, kiwi and bribery - anyway both now in bed so the sofa is mine for I hope an hour!

ceebee74 · 01/11/2008 13:17

Monkey we want to wait a few months before taking the 'final' option and I promised him it wouldn't interrupt his cricket playing so it will have to be once the cricket season has finished - he is filled with enthusiasm at the thought as you can imagine

Sparks just looking into the side-effects of the implant now - it is such a minefield when you start looking into it and the onus is always on the woman isn't it?? (apart from what I have in mind for DH of course!)

Autumnlady yes definitely do relax and enjoy your last weekend. Must be a lovely feeling knowing exactly when your life is going to change - I hope you and your DH have lots of lovely things planned for today and tomorrow

sparkletoes · 01/11/2008 13:23

ceebs yes when you start looking into things it all gets suddenly scary. My friend has used the implant for years tho and she has no probs with it apart from fact she is now having problems conceiving.

I may consider that too if coil looks too !!

Only prob with mini pill is it is apparently not the most reliable but it is only thing can take if BF so reckon it is better than nothing. Fingers crossed!!

chocolategal · 01/11/2008 13:36

autumnlady im with ya on the vodka and soda, and if theres any lime left from rutho i'll pop that in too!

i think insanity is settling in and i have another 2 weeks till due date!!

hope everyone has lovely weekends and theres one thing for sure rutho if that baby of yours doesnt appear soon it is not for the want of you trying, your making me tired just listening to you!!!

AutumnLady · 01/11/2008 13:43

Monkey - I am now watching something called Britannia High about a performing arts school in london. Wonderfully trashy!

It's kind of weird to think this is my last weekend of purely pleasing myself. Unfortunately DH is working today but is also tasked with getting the car seat so am home alone with 2 very loving cats - they must know something as won't leave me alone!!
