I used the implant for years before DS and loved it - did what I needed and no problems after. And not having periods - isn't that why everyone wants to breastfeed?!

Hmm Yorky no periods eh? That is certainly quite appealing, I remember being a bit 'oh no' when they came back last time!

Pinky Your photos are soo beautiful - Imogen is gorgeous and you look so well!

Rutho Fingers crossed you won't be waiting too much longer... but while you're about I reet fancy a pint of cider, if you're asking (have very simple tastes - some might say common )

Well I found a flea on my sofa today and I'm very annoyed. Am hoovering everyday and regularly frontline the chat so what do I do??? Don't want my baby to arrive to a stinky flea house

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT

Lolabella has had her baby boy and he is gorgeous. Ok i'm biased but he really is. Arrived half a day late on Thurs 30th Oct weighing 6Ib 13. Contractions and labour apparently very fast for first baby (but didn't feel like it at the time!) Came home today and both doing well

Will catch up on rest of the news soon so a big congrats to everyone else who has had their babies in my departure.

Once again

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 14:59

Right, I'm getting the drinks trolley out...

I am getting nice strong contractions again, starting at the top rather than at the bottom but are different from BH contractions as they feel different in my head, iyswim - I'm going a bit into myself when they get really strong rather than being able to carry on regardless. The really good thing is that I had started to doubt mesen and think I was imagining Thursday but this is quite reassuring. Plus I have had some sleep. It was really funny as they started happening when I was out shopping with stepmum, and started really kicking in when we had lunch, so I was sat there staring at my soup, really wanting to eat it but not being able to make my tiny T-rex arms reach the bowl!

I'm not getting too excited though as this is a bit of a repeat of Thursday and to be honest I could go on like this for a fortnight. However, what I know now is not to start thinking "Ooh, this is it!" and start calling parents and the hospital, and also to stick to regular mealtimes and bedtimes.

So far today I have had the same "no, not yet, false alarm" phone conversation with 4 people!

Don't wish me luck this time, just wish me patience and fortitude and sanguinuity and other Victorian virtues...

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 15:00

Ooh - yay Lolabella and son! It's all mega exciting!

ceebee74 · 01/11/2008 15:03

Congratulations Lolabella on the safe arrival of your baby boy! Does he have a name yet?? Glad all went well for you and you are home

Saurus sending you a truckload of Victorian virtues

barbareebaa · 01/11/2008 15:03

Whoopee lolabella!! Congratulations

MonkeyMargot · 01/11/2008 15:06

Congrats Lolabella!! Wahey!! Have you decided on a name as yet??

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 15:06

Tell you what, Ceebs, a few more of them and I wouldn't have gotten myself into this condition.

vbab78 · 01/11/2008 15:11

congrats lolabella . What's your beautiful boy's name?

vbab78 · 01/11/2008 15:19

anyone else feeling in a really bad mood today?

i think i may be slightly hormonal but just so fed up with DH, his s*tty moody lazy ae attitude, his job and that he hardly spends any time with me and DS and when he does it is s*t or his moans about him, him, him or how he not happy with DS (because DS might not warm to him straight away when he comes home) and pulls faces with DS naughty (not often to be honest but he is strong willed).

I just feel like a single parent with another one on the way. Feel lonely and very unloved and that everything I do is s**t including with DS .

Dh has only shown me any love or affection without arguements one eve during this WHOLE pregnancy and that was Thursday night when he kept asking how I was and said he "loves me". i was shocked as hell for so many reasons but risk just going on and on more than i have already.

vbab78 · 01/11/2008 15:24

sorry to dampen the really happy mood. so many beautiful babies being born to amazing mummies.

chocolategal · 01/11/2008 15:33

Rosa · 01/11/2008 15:39

vbab- hope things get better , I know where you are coming from dd adores dh but right now it is all mummy mummy and all she want to do is clamber on me.
Hope your dh gets more affectionate soon - have you tried talking to him about it ??? Was he like this with 1st pg.
Congrats Lolabella glad all went ok and ds doing well.

LadyBuzz · 01/11/2008 15:47

Congrats Lolabella
Vbab hugs to you, hope you feel better soon.
DH is twining because it is his mates 30th tonight and everyne will be dunk except him - oh yeah and me but then whats new there. I've just shouted at him and reminded him that I have been watching drunk people for 9 months now and 1 night really won't kill him. He just doesn't think sometimes .
In the meantime I will hae one of Ruthos G&Ts - Thank Rutho
DS is off to the bonfire with my dad so I may get a last lie in tommorow. I have to be up at 6:30 on Mon as I'm not allowed to eat after 7 - I'll be starving by the time baby comes! I'm looking forward to that less than the injection .

MonkeyMargot · 01/11/2008 15:52

aww Vbabs. You poor chicken. You're probably just feeling overly hormonal at the moment. And you're probably subconsciously worrying about how you're going to cope/adapt to a growing family. rosa is right - you should try and tell your DH how you are feeling. I know this is easier said than done - but it's better for you to get it out than bottle it all up. Men are constantly disappointing and seem oblivious to the unpaid housework we do. You are not alone.

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 16:28

Hi Vbab, love and hugs coming your way, chick. Want me to come over and sort him out? I think that yes, pregnancy is also hard on men but they really have no idea at all how mich less hard it is for them than it is for us. I got DH to take me for a little waddle just now and he was largely really good but didn't get that I needed to go NOW because I was feeling really restless and that it didn't matter if he couldn't find his good trainers... and that when I was going "ow" in the street wasn't the greatest time to start pointing out Georgian architecture. They just can't experience it and think we're being weird for no good reason. It's like there's three of us in one body, isn't it - the baby, you and the pregnancy (which is totally different from the baby and also isn't somehting you're in control over).

Anwyay, enough meandering, I'm going to see if a bath makes anything gear up or go away, either would be good as I just seem to be stuck like this... And then a nap, cake and the Guardian Weekend, I feel.

PS Gin and tonics on their way to all, possibly with a cherry in if you're feeling very shitty. Vbab, yours is the one with the umbrella in as well, love.

cricri · 01/11/2008 16:29

Congratulations Pinkali and welcome to Esme - what a lovely name
Congratulations also to Lolabella and DS - do you have a name yet?
Wow, all these babies!
Mummynic mw is coming to my house tomorrow pm to do the sweep so I'll have pads etc to hand. I'm hoping she's like Rutho's mw though, nice and gentle. Just spoke to my doula who was surprised I was being offered a sweep at 40+1 so not sure now whether to go a few more days and see what happens.
DH and I went to see the new Bond film as planned - we went to the 10.15 showing this morning just in case! Good time to go - the cinema was more or less empty! It was good - less violent than Casino Royale but some spectacular action sequences. Then we went for a pizza and sorted out some stuff for our extension. Nearly there with that
Sorry to hear that some of you are having DH problems with them not pulling their weight (MM and Vbab) Not really what you need right now. Keep talking to them and make sure they understand how you feel - often they just don't realise.
Rutho Hope this is it for you this time. Am I too late for flapjacks? And virtual G&T?

ruthosaurus · 01/11/2008 16:32

No no, flapjacks and booze are on their way!

Am I allowed to have bubble bath, btw? Am getting bored of "straight" bathwater and could do with something with a bit of a kick... For soaking, not drinking, obv!
