  • RE WATERS - The big uncontrollable clear wee/maybe waters was about 2 hours ago and different coloured discharge/maybe show 2-3 hours would I have had something else happen to indicate labour by now?

Just so uncertain with this baby and "signs" with DS it was clear cut ... backache, bloody show then pain until DS born!

Contact midwife? part of me thinks at least phone her but then I also think just see if anything happens ...

chocolategal · 11/11/2008 13:31

vbab i would give mw a ring, no harm can be done by doing that
goodluck

mum2becks · 11/11/2008 13:54

pinkali Esme is just beautiful!!!!

vbab not had experience of waters breaking myself as they had to break them in labour with DD but I would say it sounds like your waters to me and would definately ring MW!! Keep us posted, excited for you even though a little that its not me!!

ChocOrange05 · 11/11/2008 13:55

vbab sounds like your waters to me. You should call the MW if things don't get going soon as they normally want to induce within a certain time frame.

laura, sounds like the sweep has had a bit of an effect; could be the start of things for you as well.

pinkali, esme is gorgeous; all that lovely dark hair

DrsWife......I had a bit of heartburn the day after in the hospital but it went after the first day. Yes, lungfuls of air to be had . sneezing and coughing still problematic (and sore) due to undercarriage trauma and if you think the pregnancy stress incontinence is bad . Coffee tastes like coffee again rather than bitter rusty water and red wine tastes divine. ankle/feel swelling worse after the birth than before for me (with all 3 babies)

waves to yorky, chocolategal, heartmum, ceebee, hanaflower, misdee.

Off to catch up with ChocO's birth thread

RE WATERS - Phoned midwife and as always her mobile was off so phoned the labour ward for advice. The pad I put on 3 hours previous has got damp maybe wet (dont know if waters) but not uncomfortable and nothing else. The lady I spoke to just said put on a new pad and see in a couple of hours if it gets soaked. As the wee could of been baby on my bladder not waters but if waters will keep coming out.

Well could it be possible that all my waters went with that "incident" earlier?

Just really thinking now as it has been nearly 4 hours and nothing else that it has been my imagination and desperation running overtime AGAIN! Seeing midwife Thurs 1.30pm for planned checkup anyway so I guess if nothing happened by then can mention stuff .

LackaDAISYcal · 11/11/2008 15:23

if the pad keeps getting wet vbab then probably your waters and they will test the pad to see. It isn't uncommon for waters to go and then no Ctx immediately. you could try bouncing on your ball; sidestepping up and down stairs, visualisation, clary sage etc.

fingers crossed it was waters and things will kick off tonight (most women go into labour at night remember)

MonkeyMargot · 11/11/2008 15:26

Agh - just typed a really long post and it pooter crashed.
Vbabs hope this is your waters!! Does the MW not want you to go in with the pad to see if it was?
Congrats Pinkali on the gorgeous baby Esme with her shock of black hair. Love photo of her with daddy!
Welcome home choc and as yet unnamed baby choc. Love the birth story.
MW came today. Said head hadn't really moved downwards, so no point doing sweep. Talked about induction dates next Tuesday. Feel very low about all this. She said she had a feeling I would have to be induced. Was so hoping for home birth. Am booked in for sweep this Thursday at hospital, so maybe that will work.
Having reflexology tonight...fingers crossed!

LolaBella · 11/11/2008 15:36

Wow congrats to Choco and her new baby boy.
Pinkali Esme is lovely. Oscar also has an equal amount of beautiful black hair and i just love styling it
Good luck to everyone else today

vbab78 · 11/11/2008 15:40

monkeymargot - my midwife everytime I contact her has her mobile off but also i have only seen my designated midwife once (also my preferred lady as she is a lot nicer than the one I do see). The labour ward just said see how it goes sort of thing which I can respect really but just wonder "what if" all my waters had gone not just the bit the labour ward lady thinks.

fingers crossed ladies. Only time will tell after all. I guess if nothing happened by Thurs 1.30pm midwife appt then they might refer me to Labour ward to be checked anyway as I will be 10 days overdue, be more than 2 days since possible waters and also the GBS.

MerryMarigold · 11/11/2008 15:51

congrats ChocO, just read story on other thread, a great read - more suspensful than a John Grisham! I hope you're recovering well, as I know that was a worry for you. I was dead scared of recovery from c-section and it has gone amazingly well, so sending 'good healing' your way...

Hope name inspiration strikes. Jude was nearly a week before he got a name but I knew it was right. I didn't pay for TV in hospital and spent all free time reading baby naming book...still it was a friend who came up with it and my Dad liked it and dh kind of liked it, and I loved it, so...it has stuck.

vbab, hope to see you on other thread.

monkeym, hope you're ok. I do hope you get your home birth too. Remember my friend, 15 days over, went into labour a couple of hours (or less) than she was due to go into hosp for induction. Try and fight for 15 days over if you can...she was low too at waiting so long, but she had a lovely, lovely birth which I was most of!

MonkeyMargot · 11/11/2008 15:59

Thanks MerryM for the reminder about your friend. I will certainly push to wait as long as I can. What got me down was when the MW said she had "a feeling" I would need to be induced. I started crying right there and then! Hope you and the twins are all coping ok - sounds like you are when I've peeked over onto the postnatal thread!!
One of my NCT chums had her twins this week - 2 girls. She said she spent the first few days weeping a lot....poor thing!

LackaDAISYcal · 11/11/2008 16:38

vbab, your waters constantly replenish so if they have gone completely, baby will form a plug and more waters will fill up...at least I think that's how it will work.

keep an eye on your temperature (for signs of infection) just incase they have gone

We did our first public BF today and it was fine. DH said he couldn't tell I was BFing and that it just looked like I was cuddling DS2.

sparkletoes · 11/11/2008 16:40

Ok am back, midwife had to arrange a scan for me tomorrow as am measuring off the scale and she thinks baby breech again .

Will find out tomorrow I guess but can't see this baby arriving any time soon.
