Hello all. Still logging on from the hospital so this takes ages and I apologise for all my typos.
ruth you poor thing but you did make me saying DH says you keep hold of things too long!! Are you overdue now? No? Due 12th. I so thought I was in false labour right up to 11pm when I started to bounce about like tigger to ease/distract myself from the pain. just 3.5 hours later Jonathan was born!! Crazy!! Only 55minutes in second stage, DH tells me

I cannot believe you ladies watching the grand prix! Snooore
DH went home today, he said to see DD, change clothes wash some of mine etc. Then let slip about the race and all at the pub being keen to see, and congratulate him
so, not enitrely selfless act then haha
ah well the head wetting had to happen some time, eh? Might as well be when I am safely ensconsed in hospital.

DS is doing ok. VV tired so doesn't always take a feed from me so has to take it through a tube but that is partly my fault cos I am dead against the bottle this early. I just feel it would confuse him and I really want him to BF exclusively. I am sure he will manage this too, in time. He is a great little feeder, when he does manage. So that is a bonus. Would make it hard for me to cope if he didn't feed well. As it stands it is just time that will improve his strength and capabilties. That is hard enough to take. I just want him fit and well so I can get him home and move my life on from what has been a very stressful pregnancy.

Congrats to daisy and others, sorry memory has lapsed it has taken so long to type this!
So exciting to log on and see who else has met their precious LO

Yorky · 02/11/2008 20:02

Missygoo - that sounds so promising, I'm glad he's a good feeder when it works. Well done for sticking to your guns about no bottles, hat could really stress you out if the staff wanted to bottle him.
I'm sure you'll both be home soon.

I love the advent calendar idea saurus, just brought it home to me how long I potentially have to wait though, 37wks today! And now I have finally reached the magic number for my homebirth I don't want it this week as DH will be at home for a fortnight from next Friday so if it could come then it would be handy!

Not actually looking forward to having DH home during the week again - he takes up too much room in bed, bump and I need our space.
This baby better have loads of hair - I am sooo looking forward to not having heartburn anymore!
I woke with cramp the other night, and now I feel like I've been kicked by a horse in my calf - going downstairs is painful!

ceebee74 · 02/11/2008 20:10

Evening all - it has all gone quiet on the baby front I see!

Missy lovely to hear from you I am sure you will all be home in a few days and your time in hospital will be a distant memory!! How has DD been with DS?

Saurus love the idea of an advent calendar (hope it is a choccy one??) although I am sure your baby will arrive way before you get to no24.

Yorky I am SO with you on the heartburn - it has been far worse this pg so I am expecting to give birth to a little monkey! It has probably been the worst part of the whole pg tbh - I am popping Gaviscon pills like there is no tomorrow!! I actually think I preferred the constant nausea/exhaustion of the first trimester to the pain of heartburn! Glad the homebirth is still on.

Lolabella Oscar is just a darling - I bet you have fallen head over heels in love with him already

Pinky can't believe you went out for lunch so soon - you must be so calm and laidback as a mum! I remember with DS I was scared to leave the house with him for the first few weeks days! Maybe it is easier the more children you have??

Wow the Grand Prix was fantastic - I really thought he had blown it and I just loved the realisation on the Ferrari staff's faces - classic HM2J that baby really is staying put if he didn't come out then!!

Has anyone got any more news on Merry? Are her and the twins home yet??

MerryMarigold · 02/11/2008 20:10

I'm here! Just a quick pop in, between the greedy guzzlers feeding non stop. The evenings are constant. Not sure if there is a postnatal thread, will try and find where the babies are 'posted' as well. Last I heard was Pinkyminkee so I guess there may be some more since then...Lacks, is it?

Good Luck to those popping and those holding on! I know everyone says enjoy the last few days but quite frankly I have felt 100% better since they came out!

MummyNic · 02/11/2008 20:11

Hi everyone. WELL DONE LEWIS HAMILTON!!!!!

Masa Snr's face was a picture when he stopped celebrating - realised his son hadn't won the world championship afterall - utter class!!!! DH and I have Sky+ so were able to rewind that moment and watch is several times!!!

cricri glad you're not in pain. I'm going to ring up in the morning for my sweep - I expect I'll be in the same position as you, I don't feel I'm a all ready and my cervix will be closed to all unwelcome visitors!!!

MummyNic · 02/11/2008 20:12

Hi Merry, how are they doing? Glad to hear they're feeding well. There's not been too many babies but some are pending!

vbab78 · 02/11/2008 20:13

hana - sorry to hear about your credit card probs and your DH reaction . I recently had a prob with my card in that the online banking i hav always used for some stupid reason kept not paying my card off even though i had sent payment numerous times and never had trouble with it before . was getting all sorts of letters through and phoning the bank many times was the last thing i needed. got the right result in the end though in that the statements were paid and the interest and late fees i had been charged were refunded. Wonder what i spent in phone calls to sort it out though . JUST THE LAST THING YOU NEED TO SORT!

pinky - Family of five. Cool.

ruth - sorry to hear about all your pains with no result. By the time baby does arrive you will be so used to the pain it wont bother you ! Advent calendar choc sounds nice but i fancy all the halloween choc i bought in for trick or treaters that didnt come . Saying that glad no one did come as would have been embarassed as turned out DH put a padlock on our gate when he came home from work to stop people knocking as he had bar humbug feelings for halloween and couldnt be arsed to answer the door anyway.

cricri - wine collection! i think you need to drink some of it once baby arrives so you have less to sort. I will help if you would like .

missygoo - hope ds is better and fingers crossed for you bf soon. But also not the end of the world if he doesnt bf. i have now made my peace with that upset with DS as he is a fine specimen (biased i know) and i doubt very much bf could have improved him in anyway.

Dozymare · 02/11/2008 20:16

Evening All

Dozy and her utterly adorable filly (can you tell I am besotted, biased mummy!) are home and well...was so ready to get home after 3 days in hospital which, despite having my own room, I was ready to come home yesterday......DH had prepared a huge welcome h9ome sunday roast for us and my parents who have been invaluable looking after the boys this past week. I had just fed Tallulah and so thought I would treat myself to a glass or 2 of celebratory pink champagne - God, did that taste good....Then, hour later, she woke up hungry again! So I guess she "ATE" well as well - rib of beef and pink champagne!!!

Firstly, enormous hugs and thanks to everyone for all your support and kind messages - particularily cricri obs autumnlady and especially lacks who was utterly amazing. Seconding what obs said, she deserves a medal for pregnant women support of the year - she was fantastic at helping me with BF support...lacks you are a STAR

Congrats to pinkali and lolabelle on the birth of Esme and Oscar - great, great names! Think we are coming upo with some crackers......

Missygoo good to hear from you about Jonathan - I feel the same about BF but have had to supplement Tallulah with a top up of Aptamil as my milk still hasn't come in and the poor little mite was absolutely starving....I did the same with DS1 and DS2 and managed to BF for 9 months with 1 bottle a day that DH did, so not to bothered about it to be honest....

Chocorange any news?????? What about heartmum ladyubuzz rutho??????

Good luck again to autumnlady for tomorrow - another baby yah!!!!!!!!

Off to catch up properly now...

Lo9ve and hugs to all

DM xxxxxxxxxxxxx

ceebee74 · 02/11/2008 20:19

merry x-posts - glad all is going well and the twins are feeding well

Not sure we have a post-natal thread yet tbh.

vbab78 · 02/11/2008 20:20

DS still got diarrhorea after about 10days (8 days antibiotics). He seems fine in himself apart from being shy with food (not like him ) and TMI poos better but still not right IYKWIM.

I'm 40wks tomorrow and this baby seems to definitely not be going anywhere. I say this as I dont think i am anywhere as big as with DS, baby still turning around and moving violently (when they decide to) and to be honest I feel quite good and have been fortunate enough except for the odd nerve twang to suffer.

Although i have felt very sleepy today am i grasping at straws thinking this could be a sign?

Also would DS being that he has diarrhorea be allowed to visit me and/or baby at hospital?

Dozymare · 02/11/2008 20:21

merry - HELLO!!!!!! Well done you......we haven't got a post natal thread yet but there is a birth announcement one that chocOrange updates........

ceebee74 · 02/11/2008 20:23

Dozy welcome home to you aswell Tallulah sounds like a dream!

Mmmm pink champagne! I am totally craving a vodka and tonic tonight - DH has promised me one the night I get home from hospital so only 3 weeks to go!!!

LadyBuzz · 02/11/2008 20:24

Evening everyone, I'm still here for now, trying my best to cram as much eating in before I go to bed tonight as I have to starve from 7AM. I should have my baby around 2pm if all goes to plan so will text Cricri when its all over.
Good Luck to Autumnlady for tomorrow too I will be thinking of you.
All these babies sound delightful and its lovely to have so many of you back posting!
I can't wait now i'm so excited.
Good luck to those having sweeps etc tomorrow and also to those who are just waiting!
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend

MerryMarigold · 02/11/2008 20:33

Wow, so lolabella and pinkali have had too. Where is the announcement thread...

Hi Dozy and congrats to you!

Ladybuzz, lucky you to have a time and everything for your fasting. I had to starve from midnight and had babies at 2.20PM the next day!!! Not even water from 4am. I was soooooo hungry and thirsty, even a cup of tea seemed like a dream!

Just caught up with obs story on the announcements. Wow, it sounds so dramatic and yet she sounded calm and everything. Typical obs.

Babies are doing well, after Jude's little trip in Special Care. Mirissa is the greediest guzzler, I wouldn't be surprised if she has caught up with Jude's weight as he lost a fair bit and she didn't. Am managing to bf them at the moment as dh is still on paternity leave, but not sure how we are going to manage afterwards as it takes time and haven't managed to figure out tandem feeding yet. Will try and get some pics up soon.

ChocOrange05 · 02/11/2008 20:34

Hello all

Welcome back DM and baby Tallulah! Glad to hear you are enjoying your girl and newly extended family.

Saurus I think the advent calendar is a great idea, I used to make a countdown chart when I was younger and looking forward to something and its very satisfying checking off a box each day - and the chocolate is a bonus!

Congrats to Lewis Hamilton - I watched my one GP of the year - what a finish. MummyNic DH and I also enjoyed the abrupt end to the Ferrari celebrations - very funny!

Lolabella Oscar is SUCH a cutie!!

Hello to Merry too - nice to see you back on here and very impressed you have the time!

I am doing ok - getting severely pissed off with all the "any movements" texts from my friends and family (anyone who is my facebook friend check out my status!). I know they are just interested but its driving me crazy! I have told my mum that if she asks me again I won't tell her when it does happen - that should keep her texting hand in her pocket!

I am officially overdue now and sooo impatient - my tummy feels like a rock hard water balloon - very strange - but nothing that makes me think its happening. I do keep poking and trying to push it out but its being stubborn - takes after its mum and dad!! Send me some labour vibes please and mine are going out to those who are also patiently waiting!

GOOD LUCK to Ladybuzz and AutumnLady for tomorrow!

MerryMarigold · 02/11/2008 20:39

ChocO, where is the announcements thread? I want to catch up, but I can't read 10 days of thread! So, 2 more babies tomorrow, cool. Don't worry, Choc (and others), it will all be over soon and weeeelll worth the wait. I think the horridness of the last little bit actually makes the euphoria even better.

Dozymare · 02/11/2008 20:43

merry I second that - all the waiting, grumpiness, definately is made up when you meet you LO...I am going to try and link to Chocorange's post natal club.......give me a sec...

ChocOrange05 · 02/11/2008 20:45

Merry - here you go but it needs a few updates - please can everyone update it when they get info as I can't always keep up.

cricri · 02/11/2008 20:49

Just scanning through messages so apologies for not responding in detail but just wanted to let you know that the sweep has done something - my waters have started to go I've rung my doula and the hospital and I just spoke to the community mw who I saw earlier and she's now on standby because she's convinced that when labour does start it's going to be quick She told me to carry on as normal and to try to get some rest - like I'm going to sleep a wink tonight! Really hope this is it and not just a hindwater leak which doesn't go anywhere. I've got some back pains and cramping but that could just be down to the sweep... DH has just blown up the pool so we're all set
Good luck to Autumnlady and Ladybuzz for tomorrow

ChocOrange05 · 02/11/2008 20:54
