Congrats Lolabella!! Can't believe we have so manywonderful babies already and it's only 1st Nov!!

Autumn waves at Ladybuzz and will be in the same boat on monday but I can't have anything to eat after midnight tomorrow and nothing to drink after 6.30am!

Waves at Obs too- how's lovely Max?

Vbab - I can totally sympathise as DH came home for about 30 mins then back out to get something from work. STILL not back and that was 3hrs ago! Just phoned him and he'll be back with the car 'soon' but going for a beer with the boys as it will be his last evening out (yeah right) for a while. Makes me mad. Maybe we should move next to each other Vbab!!?! He has promised to make nice dinner tomorrow and get car seat. [Hmm] we'll see....

Good luck for sweep tomorrow CriCri and glad you enjoyed Bond!
Xx

My cs scar is infected.
I had to go to hospital this morning. Felt very unwell yesterday afternoon. My cs scar, became hard, looked like it had a frankfurter underneatht he skin. Given antibiotics.

Asked mw whilst there about ds2. Bf has not improved. and the tongue has not changed shape. Maybe i am expecting too much.

the mw at the hospital today said the tongue was still very tight. he said you could see where it had been cut, but that it was still very tight. maybe the surgeon at st peters didn't cut it enough. inexperienced. god, will i regret not waiting, to go to kings on tues, and see the expert, mr patel. shit shit. all sorts runnnign throgh my head.

MummyNic · 01/11/2008 18:28

Just back from cinema - James Bond was BRILLIANT!!! Much better than Casino Royale. It was so good that I didn't leave for a much needed pee!!!

Just booking marking really as it's tea time and X Factor soon and I am sooooo tired I'll probably go to bed after.

Glad everyone is loving the drinking session.

Cricri - good luck with the sweep tomorrow if I don't catch up with you before.

MummyNic · 01/11/2008 18:29

Congrats Lolabella!!!

AutumnLady · 01/11/2008 18:58

Oh Obs, poor you. Don't beat yourself up about not waiting I should imagine you just wanted it done asap, completely natural response. Sorry you have an infection, just try and rest up as much as you can and massage around scar to break up scar tissue. I had a scar infection after my back surgery and know how painful it is.
X

sparkletoes · 01/11/2008 19:26

Oh Obs please don't be so hard on yourself, you have done what you thought was best by getting it done asap. Can you still go to see Mr Patel? I am sure that IF anything else needed to be done then he could do it.

Maybe it is just that Max needs to get used to feeding again as it will be different to him.. Just give him time to get used to it for now I think. I remember reading that in ye olde days the midwives used to just cut the tongue tie with their finger nail which doesn't exactly sound like a precise art yet those babies managed to feed so just give it a little more time DON'T STRESS and see if you can see Mr P next week.

So sorry your scar is infected too, that will not be helping I am sure. BIG HUGS it will all be fine, it is still early days.

OP posts:
vbab78 · 01/11/2008 19:54

obs - ouch re the cs infection. sure the antibiotics will sort it. dont stress about your decision with the tongue tie. im sure i would have done the same in your situation. i agree with sparkletoes see if you can still see Mr Patel even if just for a second opinion.

sparkletoes · 01/11/2008 20:15

In fact Obs being seen by one of the BF experts may be all you need and also may be better than seeing Mr P as they are experts on the feeding side and from what I can see it doesn't seem to be a vastly complicated procedure. Therefore their input prob more valuable??

Obviously you will do whatever you think is best but I would maybe try making an appointment with both and see who you can speak to first... (my gut feeling here would be BF councillor would be best tho)

OP posts:
mum2becks · 01/11/2008 20:25

Congratulations lolabella

Sorry to hear about infection obs sure antibiotics will make you feel better very soon!!! I would have done the same as you about the tongue tie, you got it looked at as soon as you could, you can still get further help this week if its needed!

cricri · 01/11/2008 20:25

Thanks Mummynic Obs Sorry to hear about the scar infection and also the ongoing BF problems Hopefully the antibiotics will start working very soon and deal with the infection. As the others have said, don't beat yourself up about wanting to get the tongue tie sorted out asap - I'd have been the same in your position. See what Mr Patel says next week but BF counsellor may also be able to help in the meantime. Or maybe the problem may resolve itself - as Sparkle says feeding must feel different to Max now. Thinking of you and let us know how you get on.
Had a text from Dozy - she was Lacks's text buddy and apologises for not letting us know the news but her phone went dead and she's only just got the message! Told her not to worry, we heard the news this morning.

Oblomov · 01/11/2008 21:03

Congratulations Lolabella
Big hugs to Vbab
Good luck to Cricri for sweep tomorrow.

Any news from Rutho ?

Thanks for nice messages guys.
I do plan to go to bf clinic this week, as last weeeks cancelled. but it is on wed.
My appoint with Claire Kedves and Mr Patel , at Kings is tues. Day before. And I am so unwell, with infection, do I go to Kings - it is an ordeal, as I have told you zillions of times. Oh what to do. Sorry for being all dithery.
i feel like i am on homronal rollercoaster. The other day I told youI was on fire. Now, with hindsight , I was probably doing too much, post cs. Then mw says tongue. then have it done. now feel anxious. I am sure I am all over the shop emotionally . Very wierd feelings.
Good news. I have lost alot of weight. thinned down in the face, from being very bloated. can get my rings back on. feet nearly normal - they are quite club foot normally , post being very very swollen. stomach going down and can actually see my feet. Dh keeps telling me how beautiful I am and his 'slim wife is back'.
All really nice.

MonkeyMargot · 01/11/2008 21:30

Obs - you poor thing...ditto to what the other ladies have said - of course you wanted to get the tongue-tie problem sorted asap, don't you beat yourself up. And you will be seeing Mr.Patel on tuesday. If there is anything else which needs to be done then he will do it. Hope the infected CS scar clears up.
Focus on the positives. And it sounds like you've done a Victoria Beckham and are looking gorgeous. [henvy] Don't you know that just isn't allowed on this thread? Good on you and on your DH for being such a sweetie [hsmile]

Pinkyminkee · 01/11/2008 21:32

First of all, YAy!!
for Pinkali
and for Lacks
and lolabella
and Finlay and Esme are lovely names. Well done to you all.

Cricri good luck for tomorrow

Rutho steady on girl, I'm not sure gin is the best thing for hormonal ladies!Always used to make me cry at parties.
Baby will soon come.

Oblomov poor love. At least you have your feet back. Here's a plan.. take antibiotics, feed baby by whatever means neccessary- I expressed into bottles for DS until he latched on and it was fine.. give yourselves a break.. see how you feel on tuesday morning- a few days of antibiotics can work wonders..see your chap on tuesday if you feel up to it.

vbab big hugs to you. Silly DH.
and thanks for the liescompliments upon my appearence. I'm feeling rather chubby at the mo, but then I did just eat a whole box of celebrations chocolates in one day

MonkeyMargot · 01/11/2008 21:51

Forgot to say Cricri good luck tomorrow with being "swept". Would be interested to know what it feels like etc, as I might be joining you next week if nothing has happened!
Hope everyone who isn't in labour/looking after newborns enjoyed strictly and the xfactor. I'm sure I recall another life a long, long time ago when I used to go out on a Saturday night....

LolaBella · 01/11/2008 22:09

How silly of me to forget to announce his name. He is called Oscar James.
Breastfeeding is going well, hoping my milk comes in tomorrow because he is a hungry little man.

Many congrats to
Pinkali Lacks

Good luck to those due soon. Will upload a picture of Oscar shortly.

vbab78 · 01/11/2008 22:15

thanks everyone for your well wishes and support over DH. Thanks to ruth for the drink also. It really calmed me down after doing my best stress head impression . Loved twirling the umberella too .

pinky - i didnt lie in my post regarding how amazing you look. My DH when he saw your's and baby's pic said "wow she has 3 kids how old is she 30?". No lies! Trust me getting a compliment from him is not easy as I dont think apart from our early days I have had one.

Pinkyminkee · 01/11/2008 22:20

fab name, lolabella.
My milk came in tuesday, and I have just settled down today. It's the only bit about breastfeeding that I don't like, having those initial days of breasts resembling over inflated rugby balls..

Pinkyminkee · 01/11/2008 22:21

vabab you are a sweetie! Hope you are feeling better.

MonkeyMargot · 01/11/2008 22:41

Welcome to the world Oscar James! Excellent name lolabella! Good luck with the BF and hope you are enjoying every minute.
Pinky I echo vbabs - have you got a picture in your attic, as in the Picture of Dorian Gray? You do look very young and fresh-faced!
Night all - hope everyone gets a good night's kip x

Heartmum2Jamie · 02/11/2008 06:30

Wow, another baby!! Congratulations Lolabella and welcome to the world Oscar James, great name!

Hugs to all those who need them.

I finally decided to get up out of bed as was vaguely aware that I had BH/contractions all night, maybe 4 or 5 an hour and had lots more plug come away last night (still not bloody or pink stained). So I figured I would get up, move around and see if I could get these things to intensify or get closer together and can you believe........ they seem to have slowed down, except I am having one right now....breathe!!!

It is strange as last night was the first time I really dreamed about being in labour and giving birth and I am wondering if the visualisation in my dreams is what brought the BH's/contractions on? Also very strange that today is the day that the boys and I have said all along that the baby will probably arrive. Both my other boys were born 19 days AFTER the respective full moons in their birth months and today is 19 days AFTER the last full moon. Fingers crossed that I am not sitting here at 6.30am for no reason and that baby really does come today, I can't stand to be teased any longer, lol, and really don't want my sweep tomorrow.

tegan · 02/11/2008 06:47

Good morning

Heartmum i really hope things are happening for you as i have 3 wks today to go and am totally fed up and hoping babe comes sooner rather than later, keep us posted.

mum2becks · 02/11/2008 07:04

Morning All!!

Love the name lolabella I think everyone on this thread has great taste in names, they are all so lovely

Sounds like things are starting for you heartmum will keep fingers crossed for that that today is the day!!!! Be interesting to see if your full moon theory is right!!

cricri good luck for today, i'm hoping that if nothings happened by the time I see MW on wed that she will do a sweep rather than wait until the saturday (she said they dont normally do until 40+7) as I dont think that then gives me long for things to happen before they will want to book me in for induction!!!

pinky I agree with everyones comments on your pic, you look very young and fresh faced not like you have just given birth at all

saurus hope you are doing ok? Know your MW predicted your baby would be here by monday so is today the day for you??

Hope everyone one else is doing ok

ceebee74 · 02/11/2008 07:12

Morning all

HM2J really really hope today is the day for you - just think, your baby could be born in front of the Grand Prix

Lolabella lovely name and glad bf is going well - can't wait to see some photos.

Pinky completely agree with the others, you do look lovely in your photo! Not at all like you have just come out of hospital after giving birth And of course, Imogen looks lovely too

Crici good luck today with the sweep - never had one with DS so don't know if they hurt or not but it will be worth it!

No news from Saurus??? Wonder if things really have happened overnight for her.

Heartmum2Jamie · 02/11/2008 07:18

LOL! Morning Ceebee! My boys would kill me if baby tried to make his appearnce during the Grand Prix, I am very sure I would be told to go elsewhere, lol!

Well, according to the contraction timing website, I am having contraction ever 5-ish minutes lasting anything from 45 - 90 seconds. I don't think it is the real thing yet, but is heading in the right direction I hope. Suppose I will take a walk to the shops later to help as well. We need some milk, lol!

I was also hoping for news on Saurus.

How is your ds getting on in his bed??

cricri · 02/11/2008 07:49

Heartmum really hope things step up for you and puts an end to this waiting! I'm sure you'll keep us posted
Lolabella Oscar is a lovely name! Hope your milk comes in soon so that you can meet your little man's feeding demands!
Obs Hope you're feeling better today and ABs have started to work.
No news from Saurus Hope that means things are moving along for her!
Thanks for all your good wishes regarding the sweep - mw is coming sometime this afternoon so I'll let you know how I get on. I spent an hour last night reading about sweeps on the internet - I think I'm going to get the mw to check to see if there is any cervix dilation first and if there isn't then decline the sweep as that will mean that I'm really not ready to go into labour. There are mixed reports about sweeps, ranging from labour starting a couple of hours later to the procedure doing absolutely nothing. I guess if baby's not ready to make her appearance yet then there's not a lot I can do about it!
Hope everybody has a good Sunday - it's rubbish weather here again so I don't think I'll be going for any long walks!
