Hey ChaCha, TS - I'm not the only one up!!!!
First had hideous heartburn, then went back to bed and restless legs keeping me awake, got sick of rolling aroung in bed about an hour ago and got up.been listening to a damn fox ripping open our rubbish bags. Our rubbish is now strewn all over pavement

TwilightSurfer · 04/07/2008 03:38

Ann, raccoons do that here quite often. Noisey animals.

Heartburns been a problem with me all day long. I've been doing my best to just ignore it. I've been drinking water to cool the burn...glass number seven is now empty.

OP posts:
ChaCha · 04/07/2008 03:39

Oh no!!! Pesky Foxes!
Glad am not only one awake. Screen is getting on my nerves now as is the mess of floor thanks to DS's who didn't bother to pick up all their train track bits, looks like a scene from a Thomas movie gone wrong.

Ho Hum!

AnnVan · 04/07/2008 03:41

just had a glass of milk myself - helps heartburn and gives baby strong bones! Any tips abput restless legs syndrome? Had it even before pregnancy, now ten times worse beause before I always managed to get comfy on my stomach eventually, now not possible. I need to sleep

ChaCha · 04/07/2008 03:41

On heartburn subject just wanted to say that i'd taking a liking to these fruity flavoured rennies but have noticed recently that when the old heartburn kicks in and i chew on one i am usually sick not long afterwards. That's what happened to me tonight, had terrible hb on waking so went to my Rennie supply and a few mins later...bleugh!

AnnVan · 04/07/2008 03:42

As my terribly typed post probably proves

TwilightSurfer · 04/07/2008 03:42

DD & DH are pretending to "camp out" in DD's bedroom. I hear them whispering stories now. Pillows on the sofa, however, are calling my name. Time to see if I can get a few hours of shut eye. Will probably be back on around 8 or 9 your time. Good night.

OP posts:
ChaCha · 04/07/2008 03:43

Tip: Wake up DP/DH, insist on leg massage!
Or try a warm bath?

AnnVan · 04/07/2008 03:45

Don't try the chewable gaviscon then, it's truly vile! also leaves a horrible blue coating on your teeth. THankfully my days of severe sickness seem to be over although now that I've said that... I had hyper emesis, anded up in hospital on fluid drips etc and was off work for 3 months!

AnnVan · 04/07/2008 03:47

Warm bath. Might try it. On other had have reached such a state of exhaustion that I might actually be able to get to sleep

ChaCha · 04/07/2008 03:49

Definitely switching off now. Just read about poor French students and am in total shock. No more headlines for me. Nite x

AnnVan · 04/07/2008 03:51

nite

Expectant · 04/07/2008 07:09

TS sorry could have posted earlier when you were still up and deep in conversation with Ann Van and co. Rhys generally used as boys name but think the Americanised version goes for both.

Liking the bikini idea. But DH told me I looked 'unsightly' in mine last weekend when I popped down to the pool so not convinced I can inflict that on the good midwives of Singapore.

Ann - hope the legs have calmed down and that you managed to get some sleep.

sarahnh · 04/07/2008 07:38

Morning everyone,

Sorry to those who have had horrible nights sleep... i didn't sleep great but refused to get out of bed, my dh said to me this am that i woke him up every 5 minutes... i replied that if he was awake every 5 mins then so was i and i still had to get up with dd whilst he snores his head off grrrrr...

Off to collect baby's new matress today and to try and find something pretty to wear tomorrow night.. we are off on a rare night out and i have nothing to wear.. i loathe buying something new at this late stage but am so sick of my clothes i think i need cheering up!!!

Big hugs to those who have now finished work but received nothing from their work colleagues, i just think it is a bit mean and insensitive, i mean how expensive is a little baby outfit or something small for the mum to be aargghhh

Finally those meeting up today, hope you have lots of fun, very envious..

Have a good day all and TS i definitely reckon we are going to need another thread by end of today!!!!xxxx

double posted ooops computer stuck sorry!!!

Buckets · 04/07/2008 08:06

Aaaah so many of you up at the crack, glad you had each other to talk to.

TS Never met a girl Reese but Reese Witherspoon makes it totally not shocking I think.

My mission today is to cut my fingernails and learn to play Dream a Little Dream on the ukulele! (you will all be singing it now btw.) And tonight DH and I are finally going to have a bash at DS' disability allowance form together, well, start the first draft anyway. It's already the trickiest form I've ever had to do and I LOVE filling in forms!

Buckets · 04/07/2008 08:16

Oh and sew up a wound on DD's toy dog. That is my MUST DO job actually as I forgot yesterday and she got the hump (rightly so).

oopsacoconut · 04/07/2008 08:22

Mornin All

Sorry some of you were up in the night - I for a change had the first good BH free night sleep in over a week.

TS HAPPY 4TH of JULY [lots of flag waving] Dh works with the American Museum in Britian so we are off to a 4th BBQ tonight with square dancing and the like should be fun . I have a Godson named Reece and a friend just named her 10 day old daughter Reese so it works both ways.

Thanks Buckets now I am singing that song and it will drive me nuts all day.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone (if you are fortunate to have any).

Hi girls,
Thanks TS and AnnVann - was good to be able to talk to someone in the wee hours. I finally slept at 6am only to be woken at 8am so i guess i have had some sort of sleep Grocery shop is due soon and much to do so will stop moaning and get on with the day.
Have a great day those of you on mat leave - enjoy it, enjoy it, enjoy it!

CaptainCaveman · 04/07/2008 09:57

chacha - try tonic water for restless legs. I have a glass before going to bed and it sorts my legs out a treat .
Also, re thread flipping. You can set you own preferences on 'my mumsnet' somewhere - so that the thread always comes up with the most recent messages first.

oven needs cleaning. say. no. more.

On a plus note, the pram should be delivered today!! yay! Dizzy I promise to store it in the outhouses

Buckets · 04/07/2008 09:59

BombombomBOM Sweet dreams til sunbeams find you...

Sazzles, bung it all on Freecycle and it can be collected over the weekend, no effort for you!

I sold my tent for £100 on Ebay last night, not a dickiebird from buyer though yet. Hoping to have that collected this weekend then I might have somewhere to store my pushchair collection (tent is HUGE & lives under stairs.)

CaptainCaveman · 04/07/2008 10:27

I've just put a new bump pic on my profile - it looks smaller than the last one, although I feel about 20 times larger!!

pertelote · 04/07/2008 10:40

Morning all, happy 4th July TS and what was it about last night? I was up too - next time I must remember to check in here for some company . Don't wish to rub it in about being on maternity leave when some of you have a while to go yet, but I must admit that knowing I didn't have to get up this morning was very consoling...

Now, opinions solicited: do you make plans right up to your due date on the grounds that if you don't the baby is BOUND to be late and you'll be bored rigid - or is the idea of buying theatre tickets for the week before insane? They're not too expensive...
