Golly my spd must be a mild one. I might be immobilised suddenly for 1 or 2 seconds but no more, never stuck in the middle of road on phone etc. Poor, poor you.

Dins tonight will be lasagne (meat made so far) follied by gooseberry fool from the BBC website. I am one of those people who always leave out essential ingredients because they are not handily in my cupboard. So it's gooseberry and elderflower fool without any elderflower and without arrowroot, whatever that is anyway. And my mother's coming for evening and to stay night so we will be having evening of board games with DS and chat.

TS you sound very mellow today, what a nice time you seem to have had so far! Envy you your 3-coated toes, I must say. Have made hair appt for Sat week so can look half-decent (who am I fooling?) when The Time comes, I might squeeze in a pedicure too.

Buckets sorry about your DH - that's a bit of a blow. I don't really know what to say other than that. Hope your chat goes well. You sound very supportive, which I'm sure he appreciates.

Mmmm longing for a vast vat of red wine for some reason. Am trying to fool tastebuds with sparkling water and Ribena.

I think they're on to me .

VintageGardenia · 03/07/2008 17:51

Everyone's getting deliveries today! How nice. Ours was our sling! It's fab.

longwayfromhome · 03/07/2008 17:58

oooh. Did you ask for a goosebury fool recipe yesterday? Sorry for not replying, and I realise that this is probably a bit late now as you have the bbc recipe, but here goes for next time ... Stew up (or bake in the oven) the gooseberries with a bit of water and sugar to taste, put them through a sieve, add equal parts of custard and cream. Very healthy apart from the cream and custard.

I wonder if I could get gooseberries over here. Hmm. Although if they are in season in the UK at the moment they won't be here.

PetitFilou1 · 03/07/2008 17:58

VG Will it work without arrowroot? I think that's a gelling agent so is the thickener for the fool. Haven't read any further yet!

Had crappy day in the pf household. Ds has tonsillitis and I've had both of them home all day - one bored and one either bored or like a small raging fireball with a major whinge on. Still life could be worse as we all know from being on this thread...

TwilightSurfer · 03/07/2008 18:03

VG we will be getting our hair done the same day. I'm hoping it will last till the baby is six weeks old so I'm having all my highlights taken out and a lovely, glossy, dark blond (which is code for light brown) color put on. DH keeps asking if I'm going to have it cut short again (seems I must have done that last time) but no as short will not fit into a ponytail....my hair choice for birth.

at all the lovely foods being prepared. I'm fixing pinto beans and chicken-rice for lunch (aka Rice-A-Roni for anyone interested). DD has already complained that she does not like what I'm making...I guess she'll be hungry.

Watching reruns of Jon&Kate+8 and feeling much better about life with ONLY TWO.

cyteen · 03/07/2008 18:15

All on my lonesome tonight so having spaghetti with home made tomato sauce, and a mixed salad. Eating early, for once, then I shall be settling down with a nice glass of lovely lovely booze sparkling water to watch the finale of Heroes.

AnnVan · 03/07/2008 18:27

Gooseberries - I have a great big punnet of them, thinking of making jam. Only problemis I have never made jam before, must phone mum and ask.

PetitFilou1 · 03/07/2008 18:28

Me too, fed up with it and CANNOT be bothered to make myself dinner but have to....ds probably won't go to bed either after having had two hours sleep this afternoon. Rant rant rantedy rant

AnnVan · 03/07/2008 18:49

DP will be back soon, should really stop staring at new nappies and do the washing up before he gets back

Buckets · 03/07/2008 19:06

Well, DH not too gutted afterall (maybe it was the Milkybar I bought him) but promises to kickstart the jobhunting properly from now on. Just waiting for him to finish putting the kids to bed so he can cut my toenails in time for my NCT class! We make a good team I think.

Sibh · 03/07/2008 19:09

Fighting the urge to eat bran flakes for dinner when I had them for lunch and for breakfast. What is that about exactly.

The people who make rude guesses about how pregnant you are will be the same ones who ask how your little boy is doing when she's wearing a pink coat and pigtails in your supermarket trolley ....

FoghornLeghorn · 03/07/2008 19:11

Hi Guys, not been on for an age again but finish work next week so you wont be able to get rid of me then .....

So pissed off with my midwife, turned up for my apt this morning to be told she's on holiday ! I wouldn't mind so much if it was someone else's mistake but she made the appointment with me at my last appointment 4/6 weeks ago Grrrrr.
Got to wait til next week to see her now as no-one covers her clinic in her absence. I've got a feeling this baby isn't i the right position so was really looking forward to her telling me I was wrong and baby is head down

Anyway, less of me - so sorry to hear about your mum Dizzy
Was really expecting to hear a birth announcement from Bealcain too .....
Congrats on last day of work LWFH

Sibh · 03/07/2008 19:13

Oh Buckets, meant to just say good luck with the new plans. DH was really unhappy in his job for a long time, but retrained and is now unrecognisably happy and feels that the new life we have fits much better. The deciding, jumping part of the change was really the toughest part for us anyway. Good luck.

Chacha--hope you're feeling better now. What an awful experience.
And bealcain so glad that all is well with DH. Take care and get some rest before he does go back to work.

Sazzles lol at 'enjoy your year off'. I used to work three days a week and got 'enjoy your days off' every blardy week- days off??? I think not. Working is much easier!

CaptainCaveman · 03/07/2008 20:26

Tell you what sazzles, I'll send you a mat leave gift and you can send me one! Brilliant! Miserable sods that we both work with - bah humbug to the lot of them.

Lol Chacha - it was one of ds' friends who was having the 4th birthday party. Dh and I are good friends with the parents, so when dh turned up after work I came home early to do the ironing (joy). Still, tis done.

OOOOHHH, we have someone coming to view the house this Saturday (hence the need to iron and get crap out of the way). I'm sure dh will contribute by cleaning the toilet .

Feeling enormous today, Jerry not moving much (but more than 10 movements) and odd pains here and there.

pregnancy1 · 03/07/2008 20:32

Albs - am also v excited about tomorrow. Am about to email you with my mobile number in case you need directions tomorrow! Haven't heard from Miamla yet, but will check again first thing tomorrow.

poppy I'm with you on the "wow you're huge" comments. I am definately much bigger than I was with ds1 but he was only 5lb 7oz full term. It is, thankfully, pretty much all bump. I was asked 4 times yesterday if I was sure I wasn't having twins! Hmmm, quite sure, I've now had 5 scans and another due next Thurs.

My sympathies to those of you suffering spd and all other pg related ailments. My moans today are re. heartburn and the usual rib pain from a big hard head being shoved into my ribs constantly.

CaptainCaveman · 03/07/2008 20:40

Aw thanks sazzles. I'll bet you wish you'd been given one of these. Well, wish no more - I've ordered one for you!!

Evenin' All

Thanks for the Dizzy update - sending more huggles to the Dizzy Clan.

Also sending huggles to all those suffering with those aches and pains.

If one more person says: No, your never that far along or are you having and early section? I may have to screeeeeeem. FFS I am 5ft8 with rugby playing shoulders and am reasonably athletic - why should anyone have an opinion of my size? I would never comment on anyones size preggie or not! Maybe i should say well your not so small yourself next time or I thought you would be bigger at your age.

Dinner was 2 m&s chicken kiev with nothing else - gave DH a small leftover bit but now I want it back i need it back!

Phone M/wife about spd support belt and was told order one off the internet or see GP for physio but otherwise a couple of paracetamol should sort me out. Also I should stop being paranoid about my braxton hicks - 'sorry lady but 5 mins apart and taking my breath away was when i thought i was call you?'

PetitFilou1 · 03/07/2008 21:06

Now now ladies, or I shall buy you all a wipes warmer (otherwise known as possibly the most useless piece of baby tat known to man)

oopsacoconut · 03/07/2008 21:17

oooh yes PF something else to leave on the side to get dusty, you could also get a nice top and tail bowl to go with it.

ChaCha · 03/07/2008 21:22

Always guaranteed a giggle when i log on here. LOL at CC and Sazzles links!!!

PF - Tonsilitis, oh no! DS had it last year before we were due to fly abroad. I felt really bad because i hadn't seen the tell tale signs, like his stuffing clenched fist in his mouth all the time and only wanting lots of liquid etc... Hugs to your DS and hope the meds kick in putting him out of any misery. My two are home 24/7 when i get a break tis sheer bliss...Can't complain DH home an hour ago and has taken them out somewhere [maybe to get me nice take away - can live in hope] as they had a too long nap this afternoon and were like fireworks shooting round the garden with painted hands.

Sazzles - Pooh to the lot of them then! You must treat yourself however and what better time than now!

Online shop finally done, seems i didn't really do a massive shop but yet not much change from £100. Prices seem to be on the up! Well can officially start packing the old Samsonite tomorrow then, emm...infacol...emm...cotton wool balls and em...size 1 nappies coming in delivery - that just leaves everything else now! [or those are the items that supermarket will be out off!]

Nitey nite all and hello to anyone missed xx
