VG I actually hate the name Gregor (no offence anyone who has/knows one) I used to mind a Gregor and he was the whingiest most miserable poor wee lump of a lad that I was glad to give that all up

thought I should throw it all out there for buckets though

Buckets · 24/06/2008 18:02

Heheh, just a Minnie Mouse cupcake kit donated by my mum, revolting things full of e-numbers. Have followed them up with a fishfinger sandwich like the alphamum I am (the day before Tesco shop arrives).

Dizzy, you poor thing, that's no fun is it. Have a CSec and get it all over and done with in just 4wks! Actually 22nd is my birthday so I recommend that for good luck.

Buckets · 24/06/2008 18:07

LOL at Cash Barnes. I wanted DS to be Honey if he was a girl, how's that for a pornstar name!
This is for the middle name to Kurt so DH can have his KC or KG nickname. Quite like Cameron but we have a cousin called that, Christian is nice but an ex-boyfriend so not sure DH would go for that, I'm still pushing for Gideon but no luck so far.

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 18:09

buckets was hoping not to this time as I don't really have the support for a recovery time but its looking that way at the moment

mine have had fishfingers tonight too - what is it about tuesdays?!?!

ooh ooh - a birthday - can we have virtual cake seeing as I think it'll be off the menu for me from Tues

alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 18:12

Dizzy oh no - poor you, especially the going from full of confidence to bubble burst. What do you realistically think they're going to say???

TS Yay for the new thread!

Cyteen slings. Argh. For some reason I thought it was you who'd bought to Close baby carrier. Perhaps it was sazzles .

Hot milk - well... I think I'll get my basic m and s bras to start with and then if i fancy cheering up a few weeks into feeding THEN i'll splash out.

My back is increasingly achey. Each evening I start to panic that I am in face in labour with a back pain only labour, then in the morning I realise how silly I am .

Have abandoned dh and dd. Dd is finishing her dinner, dh is washing up - I'm here in the study!!!

TwilightSurfer · 24/06/2008 18:23

Just having lunch here. Homemade Burritos!!! I've become a PROTEIN EATING MACHINE...I can't get enough. But then I'm also sounding like a little whoopie cushion all evening long.

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 24/06/2008 18:25

ALBS...I think if anyone needs HOTmilk, it's YOU. At least that's how I imagine things should be for wives of men of the church.

OP posts:
alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 18:28

lol.

Just watched those moby demos btw (couldn;t at work last night). hmm.. they do look easy enough.

Thing is I think dh might cope better with the close baby carrier. I guess there is nothing to say I can't get both (at different times?!). Sssssshhhh don't tell dh I'm even considering such extravagence....

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 18:28

Hot boobs is more likely, innit, hot veiny throbby basketball-boobs that even a whole head of cabbage can't soothe.

TwilightSurfer · 24/06/2008 18:35

I've now consumed TWO VERY BIG BURRITOs...on to the Hershey Kisses....

Chocolate anyone??

VG, what are you talking about?? Did you're boobs just expand or is the HOTmilk bra WARM??

OP posts:
bealcain · 24/06/2008 18:45

TS the 2 are very similar, tied in the same way and both stretchy material. both just as soft as well.

ALBS i had another look at my Close today and think they both have similar qualities. ig you cant be arsed with tying go for the close, they are virtually the same, alothugh have to say i do still prefer my moby for snugness. you cant get anything as tight as a wrap. the calin bleu isn't stretchy, hance y it last longer!

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 18:46

you do realise depending on the chat I get on Tues there will be no more chat of KK/magnums/cakes etc - and am FULY aware I am the main instigator of such convos - we'll have to have this thread and a shadow one that I don't know about to discuss all things being consumed that aren't brown rice and wholemeal rice (bleurgh)

alittlebitshy · 24/06/2008 18:51

but at least you're 35 weeks plus being diagnosed - imagine having to restrain from magnums etc from 28 weeks or whenever .

TwilightSurfer · 24/06/2008 18:51

Dizzy THAT IS NOT TRUE!! I know for a fact that all things can be indulged in with MODERATION...even with GD. That's why you are given ways to monitor sugar levels. If you get a NAZI-Style GD lecture...seek a second opinion. A balanced diet and exercise are the first priority but allowing yourself treats is far from out of the picture.

OP posts:
PetitFilou1 · 24/06/2008 18:53

TS You need to try some Cadburys dairy milk - Hersheys is not good in comparison! Then there is the Green and Blacks/Seeds of Change/Lindt which is in a whole other league. I think you are chocolate deprived in the US

TwilightSurfer · 24/06/2008 18:56

Petitfilou, DH loves all the brands you've mentioned. I however am a HERSHEYs GIRL through and through. DH is not fond of Hershey by comparison so I ALWAYS have exactly what I need on hand.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 18:59

absolutely right ALBS - but if you can imagine the sccene please

dh announces last night that there are NO magunum whites left - does he run to the shop - does he fark

anyway today I ask him to get the fishfingers from freezer (which is in the shed btw) and he comes in and announces he was wrong and there are 2 magnums that were lying loose and not in the box he threw out

well if that isn't farking MARVELLOUS timing on his part am not sure what else qualifies?!?!?!?

don't know whether to hug him for finding them or punch him in the bllcks?!?

votes please

Thanks Cyteen and Sazzles for the heads up. I am pondering whether I have the energy ...

Dizzydixies - sorry about the GD - an absolute sod, particularly when you dh has, like Indiana Jones, produced the much sought after Famous Lost Magnum of Shed. Would it be irresponsible to have a 'final' magnum, much like people have a 'last fag' before giving up. Or is it a case of, no way, following doctor's orders to the letter? (Am NOT trying to encourage you, if it's the latter!)

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 19:42

sausage
Dr hasn't given me any orders yet so was thinking of having on last irresponsible weekend of it

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 19:54

Errm dizzy I would ignore DH and just get stuck into both magnums, if I were you. The last hurrah. Then don't have any more till preg over. It's only 5 weeks now, might be less, and we will make it easier and help you find a new passion / treat.

I personally will not eat a single magnum before labour day, in sympathy (not that I really ate them anyway but doesn't it look like a good gesture??).

saussie LOL at Indiana Jones.

TS no, no boob transformations here, just envisaging the rock hard basketballs I'll have when the milk comes in.

And don't talk about brown rice etc if it's what you hate, focus on yummy stuff that you do like. We will all contribute our best recipes. In fact I'm going to make big effort to eat properly for this last stretch too.

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 19:57

you're all just lovely absolutely lovely thank you

you've managed to make me smile even after I had to speak to my mother which is never an easy task lol

HazieDazieandBaby · 24/06/2008 19:57

Evening girls! Hope everyone is good today. I nipped on last night for a catch up and I'm glad I did! If I hadn't, I'd still be on reading posts from Sunday!! What a bunch of blethers!

Yr such a legend TS for setting up the new thread! Where would we be without you?

That's not such good news about the GD dizzy, don't be so hard on yourself though. There's no reason that you would have known whether you had it or not and I agree with TS, everything is good in moderation so don't be letting DH eat the Magnums for you. Oh, on that topic I reckon you could carry out both actions (hug and a kick) and blame it on hormones if it makes you feel better!

at yr new underwear VG, that's exactly the set I would have picked - it's so cute!

I can't remember who mentioned it - sorry! - but I was wondering about the Raspberry Leaf Tea. Someone told me that they were going to use it if they went overdue (along with some other questionable methods of DIY induction!) but another girl that I know used it from about 35wks? What is it actually for and when should you use it?

I had a major freak out on Friday! I've been getting BH for a couple of weeks but not in any sort of pattern. I was driving home from work on Friday and felt two within the space of 1/2 an hour, then had one every hour or two until about Sat afternoon. I totally panicked but then convinced myself that if I was in labour I'd have been in a lot more pain, not just discomfort, and I'd have had other signs too. I'm still here so guess everything must be fine! Nevertheless, baby and labour bags are all packed now, with just mine to go! But only need toiletries, PJ's and bras which I'll get this weekend. I got a pair of flip-flops from Matalan for £2 on Sunday if anyone needs bargain tips!
