nursing bras on sale in Debenhams and their online site too for all who need them

hi hazie was in Debenhams today and was thinking of you as their Coast stuff is in the sale just now - have you managed to get anything?

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 20:04

Oooh crumbs Hazie you must have been a bit nervy! And while driving, yikes.

Re. RL tea, I saw a cranio-sacral therapist yesterday (don't ask!) and she said to start drinking it from now on (ie 35 weeks), one cup in am, one in pm before 6, and to brew it strongly. So I obediently went & bought it, though not a drip has passed my lips yet!

Re: underwear, IT is cute, not sure how cute I look in it though [hmm}!!

dizzy check it out, bless the Beeb look at that banana and pecan loaf YUM and the salmon dish YUM and lemon pepper chicken YUM. Would be a bit at pumpkin gnocchi but you might be a gnocchi sort of gnirl. Baba ganoush YUM as a dip with warm wholemeal pitta pieces.

HazieDazieandBaby · 24/06/2008 20:05

Hi dizzy I'm just waiting for the Crave dress I ordered in the next size up to be delivered so I'll see how it goes. I looked at a lovely dress in Coast, but it was way too structured to work properly. I've nothing planned this weekend so can have a good rummage in town if things don't work out!

HazieDazieandBaby · 24/06/2008 20:07

Thanks VG! I hate herbal tea too so glad that I can put it off for another 2wks or so. Give me a good old cup of Tetleys anyday!

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 20:11

is it not easier to use the raspberry tea tablets? I hate tea

HazieDazieandBaby · 24/06/2008 20:15

Ooh, I didn't realise there were tablets too dizzy! Think I'd prefer that option. Have either of you used them before?

I forgot to say earlier, my latest bugbear is people who ask me what we're going to do with our dog when the baby's here. Err... feed her, take her on walks?? Is that wrong? Do I sawp her for the baby at the hospital?

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 20:18

Me too, Hazie. Err... we will have them put down in order to keep things simple, of course .

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 20:18

tell them you're going to give the dog some breastmilk to get used to the smell of the baby and watch their faces then

having a dog is GREAT as it makes you get dressed and walk baby in pram even if you don't feel like getting out of pyjamas

mine is about to pack up her spotty hankie and leave when we bring home dc3 i think, bless her she's been wonderful through all the abuse!

HazieDazieandBaby · 24/06/2008 20:27

It's just weird, I know she's obv. not a person (I say obv. but people have had to point this out to me in the past!) but no-one would ask what you would do with your DC when you were expecting another would they?

Aww dizzy, yr dog with her spotty hankie makes me think of the Littlest Hobo! You'll have us all in tears! lol at giving the dog breastmilk! She probably wouldn't have a problem with that, she'll eat anything. She nicked a couple of DH's mint Aero bubbles last nite when we were engrossed in the tv!

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 20:29

Logging of as RL calls.

Talk to you all tomorrow.

dizzy I hope you can get some proper advice and reassurance, either elsewhere on MN from people in similar sitch, or from professional types tomorrow. Don't lie awake worrying about it. Go to bed early, think nice happy thoughts towards the new baby, happy thoughts for yourself, and get a good night's sleep beside a warm DH. xxx and a big hug for you.

HazieDazieandBaby · 24/06/2008 20:31

Bye bye VG, see you tomorrow!

VintageGardenia · 24/06/2008 20:31

Hasta manana!

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 20:32

thank VG am bending ears on here about it already lol

have a nice sleep

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 20:34

raspberry tea tablets here

Hazie I have no idea if they are better than the tea etc sorry!

ataraxis · 24/06/2008 20:36

Hi all,

Flicked briefly through the old thread earlier and had already made the decision that there was no way i was going to catch up - so very relieved to see a new one!

dizzy, really sorry to hear about the GD, hope things stay on track for you.

VG any update on the snoring? I bought some marjoram oil online today (couldn't find any in shops), so fingers crossed...

sazzles, friday definitely looking good - how 'bout you?

I really REALLY need to purchase some baby things... don't think i quite have my head around this one coming. I currently have 1 pack of new born stuff that MIL bought, and that's it . Better get a shift on.

Has anyone flown needing a DR cert? I need to go to Edinburgh next week for work (so about everyone on mat leave), and easyjet say you need a cert from 28 weeks. I am assuming that the Dr will just give me something on the spot?

And finally, I know this is probably a really dumb question, but is it ok to have the DS's sitting on my lap at this stage? I was reading them stories tonight and (cross legged, one on leg one in between) and felt a bit uncomfortable baby-wise afterwards. Baby is def head down as I can quite often feel it... any thoughts?

LadyOfWaffle · 24/06/2008 20:37

I refuse to press refresh until I have posted because I know the thread would have jumped another 30! Feeling tons better ATM (feeling tired beyond tired earlier but had a bath, DS and I napped and I managed to have some dinner so feel ok ) so much more able to keep track and type without sounding drunk (!) I can't believe there is 77 posts already though, I was keeping ontop earlier today with just the OP

Sausageandmash - I wondered what HotMilk was aswell, I feel very out of the 'in jokes' ATM Very random to have saucy feeding bras, I will definatly not be getting any - I have seen figleaves have a full on super double supportive plus crop top type feeding bra that I will definatly be getting - as far from sexy as you can imagine!

DD - Sorry to hear about your GD, I was high risk (weight and big baby) but mine came out clear (I think, it was actually a 3 hour result but the MW assumed it was a 2 hour one so unsure if it makes a difference) but when they told me I was high risk I (sort of!) went on a GD diet, you probably know all about it but it was just things like swapping mash etc. for new potatoes, white for rye bread or some other random bread which I can't remember... I definatly didn't cut out 'bad' stuff completely though , I have zero will power . Just thinking "ok, I won't have that this time" really does mount up then you feel better when you do indulge. Someone on here gave me details of the 'normal' diabetes website, it tells you alternatives via a virtual shop type thing, but obviously you have to disregard some things ie. cutting down too much on fat etc.
No one has meantioned induction this time for a big baby, but then it's been about a month since I saw MW so no idea of my sizes. I was induced with DS and don't really know any other way of doing it so am not really worried this time if they say I'll need it, I am most worried about having another episiotomy, it was by far the worst part of the whole childbirth thing (the pains afterwards, I felt nothing at the time). I remember having about 2 salt baths a night because of the pain! Fingers crossed I won't need one this time [deluded]...

Surely the name Gregor would be Gregory? Not sure if I have heard of Gregor. DHs name is Gregg, and when we first met I insisted his name must be Gregory, asking him over and over "what, it's just Gregg on your birth certificate?? Are you sure? ?" Obviously sounds normal to me now, but I didn't believe him at first!

Hazie - I tried the raspberry leaf tea from 40 weeks last time , or it may have been a tablet variation... made no differnce though. Definatly cannot/should not take it before 38/39 weeks though I think. Dimbo me though went to tesco and drowned myself in Twinings fruit tea with raspebrry in it thinking it was the same thing [dim] It was only about 2/3 months ago I think Lulumama told me it isn't the same thing! I have been getting bad BHs aswell, on Sat. they got so intense and regular (ish) I was convinced I was going to go into labour, but managed to have a nap and it eased. BHs are getting abit more painful now and scaring me, but, like you, I keep thinking if it was labour it would be really painful and I would know. I definatly knew last time! Today was pretty bad though, I was woken from my nap by really intense pressure on my and my bum - a pain I remember very well from last time. The pain was so bad in my bum last time the epidural didn't get it and I had to have 2 doses of something else (no idea what!)

mum on phone, lost track now...

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 20:54

Ataraxis dd1 no longer gets to sit on mummy's knee but she's nearly 5 and understands, dd2 not so much but the only really problem I have is lack of space

LofW how are things down below?! has it eased off any?

poppysocks · 24/06/2008 20:58

ataraxis - I flew with easyjet last night and so got a Dr's letter. I just called the surgery and they prepared it for me - didn't need to see me. Cost £20 though, which works out at £10 per sentence . Just said how far through I am and that as far as she was concerned there was no reason why I shouldn't fly.

ataraxis · 24/06/2008 21:00

dizzy, your DD1 sounds much more rational than my DS1 (just 5) - that's boys for you... but i did say to both tonight that there would be no more sitting on laps until the baby was born & that we would do lots of other cuddles. I think cos they are boys as well (although this may be a massive generalisation and I have no real small girl experience), there is generally lots of climbing, elbowing, rough & tumbleness (and fighting over contact with me). I am just a bit wary of 'not because of baby' as I don't want to cause resentment.

Very achey in the pelvic region at the moment (not lap sitting specific), is that just normal (again, can't remember )?

ataraxis · 24/06/2008 21:02

Poppy - £20?! Wish I could earn that much for 2 sentences... still, as it's work, they can pay for it! . Thanks, will call the surgery in the morning.

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 21:03

yes, like someone has (excuse my french) has kicked you in the fanny? if so, all normal with me

evening poppy

poppysocks · 24/06/2008 21:14

Hi Dizzy! How are you feeling now?

LadyOfWaffle · 24/06/2008 21:19

Oh, it's stopped bulging (or I have stopped noticing it!) but something is hurting down there, about where my episiotomy was but could be that or pelvis because I can hardly walk. I am just so used to it now it seems sort of normal having to roll out of bed!

I didn't realise we couldn't have toddlers etc. on our laps - how come? I do have to draw the line at DS climbing over me while I am trying to nap because he is quite rough!

dizzydixies · 24/06/2008 21:21

poppy am ok thank you, have, as usual been reassured by some lovely MNers who have given me some great advice

LofW its not that you can't have them on your lap of course, its just I don't have a lap when sitting down now - my bump sticks out to far

am sorry you're still sore - would you consider taking some Arnica - it helps healing?

ataraxis · 24/06/2008 21:25

LoW, I don't think there is any hard and fast rule on it, certainly can't remember any issues last time.
I am just paranoid conscious that there is a developing baby there, and don't want for it to be hurt. It's more the leaning/elbows/knees/roughness that is making me cautious (and probably the fact that there tends to be two of them at the same time...)
