Had a bit of a shock this morning - walking round the car with de-icer spray, slipped on frosty brick drive and went down, bang, on my left knee - owwwwwww. Kind of lay there crying in shock til some random passer-by helped me up, then felt a bit silly. Absolutely no risk to the bump, just a shock to my system! Now have nice bruise/graze combo coming up. Hopefully good for sympathy if nothing else...
Plus DH is still off work with flu, and in his confusion he left the hazard lights on his car all night, battery is now totally flat. Lovely childminder has lent us a charger as we couldn't even jump it. Sigh!! Trying not to be too angry with him...
Happy news though, had a midwife appt yesterday (delayed from last week when I just plain forgot to go) and I heard the heartbeat, very reassuring. I am 17 weeks now and haven't really felt much movement, but then last time the placenta was in front and that muffles it.
Re cloth nappies, I used www.makesachange.co.uk but then shopped around for price comparisons as well. Now he's got bigger we've pretty much stuck with whambamboozles or whatever they are called these days, they are made from bamboo, would totally recommend (but we do use Moltex biodegradable disposables overnight as life is just too short to risk nappy changes in the middle of the night in otherwise good sleeper baby). Not sure if it's how I wash them (40 degrees, non-bio liquid) but I wouldn't sell them on, they come out clean but kind of a bit stained!! Perhaps it's DS's toxic poop...
I so was trying to justify a stokke sleepi, then we got given a (standard) cot for free. Gift horses and all that... ah well, will still get P&T, can spend the rest on... me!
Yey for ScottishSusan, great news.
Valentine's - am off to the big smoke alone tomorrow night to see the Strictly Come Dancing live show with a school friend. Yep, nothing says romance like straight men in sequins and fake tan!!
