Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LuckySalem · 15/11/2007 15:20

Beller - Way to go with all the dinners, just how a pregnant woman needs to be treated!
your arms and back etc are all to do with stretching don't worry. I'd mention it to the MW when you see them next but don't worry unless it becomes over the top or goes to your hands and feet.

madmouse · 15/11/2007 15:28

Beller I don't think being a stock broker would be for me, but I can see it has its compensations . Will expect a drooling report of what you have eaten. Are pregnant stock brokers rare (relatively speaking, as female ones are apparently rare anyway?)

I am getting quite emotional too as some of my more vulnerable clients whose cases I have looked after for years have been quite upset at hearing that I am leaving. Even got phonecalls from the psychologist treating one of them saying that client was quite upset. Hard to play a role like that in someone's life, I am only their lawyer!!.

madmouse · 15/11/2007 15:33

sorry, guess money broker and stock broker are not quite the same thing

Naetha · 15/11/2007 15:55

Quick question, anyone noticed dandruff / dermatitis been a problem since they got pregnant? Mine has been gradually getting worse since about 12 weeks, but gone haywire in the last 3 months - I look like I've just walked in from a blizzard half the time, and that's with using a medicated shampoo every day

beller · 15/11/2007 15:55

similar madmouse...instead of dealing in tock and shares i deal in interest rates..so not far apart!

No very few pregnant borkers...think we have only had one other here before! I have worked at 2 other firms though...hmm trying to think of any at either fo them

pussycatmomma · 15/11/2007 16:02

hi all -
i have posted a new message in the pregnancy section but am not very good at links.
If any of you have a sec can you pop and have a read for me please? it relates to fundal growth. xxx

madmouse · 15/11/2007 16:13

few more helpful (I hope) posts up there for you pcm!

pussycatmomma · 15/11/2007 16:27

thank you ever so much everyone. I am going to go and lie on my left side and eat something sweet and wait for the kicks, thats what my friend has just advised in order to feel some movement.

madmouse · 15/11/2007 16:28

ice cold water helps too!

beller · 15/11/2007 16:57

or fizzy drink ((((((((Pussycatmomma)))))))))

susiemj · 15/11/2007 17:13

Hi Naetha - I became allergic to pretty much everything as soon as I became pregnant so this might be what is going on with your scalp. There's a great shampoo called Polytar - it's not with the other shampoo in Boots it's byt he pharmacy - . It's the only thing that solvers DH's occasional flaking. It's very gentle but on the downside you will smell like a fence!

MrsMcJnr · 15/11/2007 17:43

Just popped in to say hi busy day so no time for posting but hopefully I'll be able to catch up tomorrow. Off to see the torture labour ward now

madmouse · 15/11/2007 17:44

Naetha

DH has extremely sensitive skin and flakes we swear by Oileatum shampoo. You will [shocked] at the price but it is very good.

gingeme · 15/11/2007 17:45

Hi ladies. Great new thread title.
Neatha if anything my dandruff dissapears when Im pg. I suffer with it along my hair line usualy.
Beller as the other ladies have said if the itching is on your palms or soles of your feet see your mw or gp immediately. Other than that probably dry skin because of the heating or stretching skin. Try some Oilatum in your bath its very soothing but be careful when getting in and out the bath as it does make it slippery.
Sorry to keep on about it but when and where is the meet up happening please?
Well Im off to have some of the left over chinese from yesterday. Im actualy hungry today.
Ill try to pop in later. xxxxxx

barristermum · 15/11/2007 17:53

Hey guys!
Beller - we will miss you mon but totally understand. This is definitely starting to tell now isn't it. I feel quite ungainly and so sympathise with Nicky6 on the Baily stairs - I had to rest twice just going up the stairs at the Snaresbrook portacabin today! I just don't seem to have the lung capacity I used to!
Mixedmama - for the next meet up after mon Wood Green should be fine for me - I will probably drive depending on time and where I am in court but wd just need directions - so if fluffy can make that I could give a lift?
Fluffy - am likely to be local that Tues so we can confirm on Mon and then meet up as neighbours too - how exciting!
Awen - I am likely to be in Soton all day everyday for the week 3/12 if you are around for a quick lunch hour? Don't worry if it's too much to contemplate - totally understand.
Amani - so sorry about work - just as well you have more exciting things in your life to focus on at the mo' - take no notice of them hon'.
toomany - like MM I would formally complain about that nurse - dead baby comment is quite quite DISGRACEFUL and I am furious just thinking about it again.
Fruitful - glad you are home even if it's just for a short time - are you wanting to wee all the time at the mo then?
Angechica - so osrry things are so tough - this time can be a real pressure cooker where all the things that have been overlooked for ages can't be avoided an more as emotions are so close to the surface now. Am sure with constant communication - however hard, you can get through this. Just don't be too hard on yourself and keep on letting off steam to us.
Naetha - I have noticed that on the pjs too - what is wrong with black and navy for heaven's sake!
Mrs McJnr - great Scot - kenny is shamelessly milking your vote but he did look fab in the kkilt and I thought his waltz surprisingly elegant and the music really fitting. HAving seen training footage for the chachacha I fear Sat will not be his night however!
Anyway love you all, take care xxx

katyt1 · 15/11/2007 18:10

thank heaven for night garden....

quickie before ds notices i'm typing or he'll want to 'help'

m/w all fine today, nowt to report.

re lung capacity - i def notice at orch (play clarinet) that i can't breathe as easily. poor lungs & everything else all squashed in there.

did anyone else see woamn had quins in oxford? wow, that would be interesting...[hmmm]

best be off, hi everyone

toomanyshoes · 15/11/2007 18:36

evening all!

PCM - would just echo what the others said re unreliability of measurements. Try not to worry too much, sure you will see your lovely healthy baby wriggling about on tomorrows scan!

Naetha - glad BP down, post some pics of DH in his frock afterwards!

Sabinar, sorry about the ankle, not what you need when pg! I have given up on heels now as i am so clumsy (even when not pregnant) that I know I'd do myself an injury. Very sad though as fabulous shoes are my very favourite thing. Flats are good but just not the same

Katy1 - I really miss those fab 2 hour naps that DD used to have. She stopped napping completely when she was about 2 (8 months ago) but at least she has a lie in these days. She is still in a cot and seems happy to stay there so putting off the big bed for a while (visions of her wandering into our room at all hours!)

Awen, hope the fingers go down! Just had another peek at your food thread to see what lovely things everybody is scoffing! It is like food porn for me! Just had some carrot sticks which did not hit the spot at all! Am dreaming about cake and chocolate

Susie i agree about the maternity PJ's - looked everywhere for black last time. I also got really pissed off that every nightie I looked at had Winnie the Pooh or a bloody teddy on it! Just felt very wrong for giving birth in for some reason!

Beller - how lovely to get a night at Le Caprice. I get to go to lots of nice lunches when I'm working and really missing them now! Sandwich in front of the telly for me these days! Have a fab time

Barristermum - I'm the same with lung capacity. Will do almost anything to avoid going up and down the stairs at the mo! DH is like my personal courier bringing me things I have left upstairs. He works from home so always on hand - v useful indeed!

Gingeme- left over chinese - yum!

Mixedmama - should be coming along on monday but DH does yoga on a monday so just need to see if my friend can babysit. Will keep you posted...

Thanks to everyone for your comments and support on the evil diabetes midwife. I fully intend to complain about her but will wait until after I deliver. Am still under the care of the diabetes team that she runs and don't want it to affect my care! They already think I am a trouble maker!
Had growth scan yesterday and LO is approximately 5.5lbs which is totally normal. He is on 86th centile and no concerns about his growth which is fab, means more likely to be left alone to go into labour spontaneously! Only slight concern is that I have excessive amniotic fluid so have another scan in 3 weeks to check it. Polyhydramnios is a risk with the diabetes so they want to make sure. Feeling positive though.

Big wave to everybody else

gingeme · 15/11/2007 18:45

lol katy1 about lo helping with the typing. My two often 'help' when dh or I are on the pc. lo seems to be just tall enough now to reach the keyboard

anneme · 15/11/2007 19:17

Beller - might be worth phoning up tomorrow to check re itching - to be on the safe side bearing in mind the weekend is coming up and it is more of a pain seeing people over the weekend iyswim. Probably is dry skin but better to be sure.
I feel like a stalker being on this thread - sorry!

fruitful · 15/11/2007 19:27

Ohhh, itchy scalp! Its driving me nuts too. And I'm just praying its pg-related cos dd has had nits recently .

Barristermum, lol at needing to wee all the time. Well, yes, but I thought that was normal!

susiemj · 15/11/2007 20:49

There's some black maternity PJs in Next

Do you think £25 is too much?

Maggieb52 · 15/11/2007 21:21

Good luck to all you Mummy's to be! Just wanted to say that the nursing apron is a good idea and have you seen "this one". I used mine all the time when we were out and about. Think it would be better for the cold weather?? Talking of the cold weather, have a look at "this too". If you mention you saw this thread on Mumsnet a pack of Lilypadz will be included in your purchase!! They are a great buy - and you will get used to the leaking!! They are great as you just empty them out, wipe them down and off you go! I did not leak for long with my two babies!!

MamaMaiasaura · 15/11/2007 21:44

barristermum - that week sounds good

toomanyshoes - growth scan sounds good Got my next one on Monday, as dp away from Saturday my mum and dad are coming instead! quite excited as dad has never seen a scan!

Fingers still FAT!

ayrshirelolo · 15/11/2007 21:46

Evening all!
Cool new thread, only 2 pages! Hope everyone is ok, i'm dead on my feet today, just about to got to bed, dd had a crap night last night, was awake and upset between 1.30am and 3.45am...... despite Calpol at 1.45! She had the cheek to yawn as i was giving her porridge this morning, and dh said she had a good 2 hour nap this morning... of your 17month old daughter, now that is really ridiculous!
Had a bit of a tough day at work though, had meeting with a dad who called me all the names under the sun and got really intimidating and he has history of assault against pregnant women , will be pleased to finish up in 4 weeks! My boss was fab though, threw him out the office! (i'm a Social Worker)but still a slightly freaky day even with my amazingly thick skin!
Hello madmouse, glad you've still got nearly as long as me, then i won't feel quite so lonely while everyone else is popping beautiful babies and i'm still the size of a bus!
Beller, enjoy the dinner, i'm lucky if i get a McD's on expenses these days but once upon a time was a rep, and fondly remember client entertaining! Nice the lads are looking after you though!
LuckyS - spotted you arguing for tolerance, choice and free speech on AIBU thread last night, way to go girl! Just too tired to join in myself but thought you were fab!
PCM - freezing cold water, preferably fizzy, can encourage wee one to shift, or even a little prod if you're feeling brave? Haven't read your other thread yet, but will try to tonight or tomorrow. Hugs anyway!
Awen, sympathy with the chipolata fingers, mine a bit like that too... wedding ring is now round my neck as last time i left it too late and couldn't get it off at all! I was sitting with my hands above my head this morning for a while wiggling the fingers as you're supposed to until i caught dd joining in, think she thought it was a new dance! bless!
MrsMcJ, will wave at you from the M8 tomorrow night, have to go pick up stepdaughter again after work so will think about you as i pass junctions 5-2... i guess you're in there somewhere?? enjoy the tour, i'm still waiting for m/w to get back to me on when i can go see the new unit at Crosshouse, will nag them next anti natal if i haven't heard!
Gingeme, glad you're hungry today, something lovely and decadant about leftover Chinese i think! especially when prawn crackers are just a teensy bity soft, but still crackers iyswim! or am i just weird?
Fruitful, enjoy your own bed! Nothing like it, is there? Hope you stay in it as long as poss!
Barristermum hope you and your dh are now happily reunited? Or am i mis - remembering?(hey, made up word!!)Take it easy though!Too many stairs isn't good!
Toomanyshoes, complain about the bitch, but i understand why you'd want to wait. Maybe write the letter now, though? After lo born you might be too happy to remember how much of a complete f**kwit the woman was!!well done with your amazing diet manangement though, you must have incredable willpower.
Katy, lol about night garden, these days i seem to walk about with theme tune in my head constantly as dd loves it! have to say i think the creators might have had a bit of a mispent youth though... flashbacks or what??
Susiemj, hello! I bought 3 maternity nighties in mothercare last time, and wore them for a total of 1 day each... cost me a bomb though! however, if you like them £25 isn't too bad, although i'd be tempted to but some small size man's pjs this time with big drawstring waists... lots of black and navy, buttons up front and cheaper than £25? maybe i'm just a Scottish skinflint?
Naetha you're dh sounds lovely! take some pics though for blackmail purposes later! Glad your bp is down, take it easy!
Sabina, i wore a pair of skyscraper stilletos for a night out a couple of weekends ago, but got such a hard time from dh that it wasn't worth it.. will be joining you in the flatties soon.. a better look with my old lady swollen ankles!
Anyway, fingers sore from typing so much! Wave to everyone else!!! Might not be able to post too much until monday unless i get a chance at work tomorrow, dsd this weekend will spend the whole weekend playing on the Sims or on facebook!! take care all, lolo xx

LuckySalem · 15/11/2007 22:43

Just a quickie!!!

Been to my Antinatal class and was slightly dissapointed. Probably just cos its the first one and not as exciting as the rest will be.
Bit annoyed that the MW will ONLY talk about BF not bottle feeding. I wanted both to be put forward so I can choose.
