Congratulations Anna and Pixie, lots of love to you both and your families! xxx

silkcushion · 02/11/2007 12:03

Iris - Elliott sounds like he is doing really well. Have we got any photos yet?

Mrs J - I was wondering what had happened to you! I'm booked to deliver in Cheltenham now so we might meet up there on the post antal ward! Except, I'm going to have my baby by sunday (baby obviously doesn't know this)

Have just cleaned my kitchen from top to toe with antibacterial wipe things in a slightly obsessive way. Have got an invasion of cluster flies eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!

Big thick black flies started arriving on Sunday (not sure how they are getting in). Very slow and dozy but everyday since then I've got between 30-60 dead all over the kitchen.

Posted a thread on here last night when I burst into tears at the sight of them. Now I know what they are and have spoken to environmental health at the council. Apparently they aren't breeding - they have crawled into my house walls to hibernate and are confused by central heating and coming out to play. Environmental health said the good news is they don't carry diseases (but still you don't want them on yr work surfaces do you???) also easy to kill with fly spray then vac them up. Bad news is there maybe thousands of them and this could go on for weeks!!!!

silk - eeeewwww!!!!! You poor thing!!! that would make me cry too!! Yuk!!!!

Hey fellow muvvers / to be

CONGRATULATIONS - ANNA AND PIXIE YEAHHHHHHHHHH XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

well i'M now due due in 5 days, now imperative that i make it past sunday as is DS 3rd b'day and we are taking him to little farm with a couple of friends then back here for party food and cake
i don;t know about anybody else but i seem to be full of loved up vibes at mo' i was honestly quite worried about leaving work and becoming SAHM, but now that work is completely out of the equation i just feel so more chilled out and committed to DS, spending more quality time with him has just made me love him even more than i thought possible...OMG i'm actually welling up now

also sleeping really crap, feel fine during the day tho', wake up with lods of energy, then have serious dip around 2/3ish, then generally lie prostate on sofa from around 9.00 as LO keeps squiriming about under my ribs, which is most uncomfortabe. Manage to sleep till about 1.00 then thats it, up every flippin hour for wees,

Choc - i too spoilt myself with gorgoues undeer the knee wedgey boots, v.sexy, tho' not necessarily under big pregnant bump

RG - i usually spend the same on cut and colour TBH if you wantreally nice cut and colour thats the going rate isn;t it, and if your like me you prob leave 2 months between each do !

Silk - we have had infestation of weevils or snout beetles, they are tiny little things and apparently harmless, but still don't want them poodling about kitchen / bathroom, they actually infested the bird seed that we left in the airing cupboard (yes i know stoopid place to leave a bag of bird seed) first thing i thought when we had them was must check the bird seed but took me two weeks to do it....doh, anhd tho we chucked it we are still getting them now, and i'm losing patience.

Little et al - yes there is something def sexy about Gordon Ramsay , and i think i read somewhere that he and his wife are at it like rabbits, i think its cos hes so in control too, and he's got a lovely boy laught and giggles quite a lot which i find sexy, TBH i have felt extremely horny all the way thru this preg, but finding sex just a bit weird...sorry if TMI

well well....must sign off for now, will catch you all laters xxxx

littleoldme · 02/11/2007 15:54

YAY - Blood tests back and everythiing is normal which is a relief.

Mrs J If you go into Customize Conversation (or summat like that) at the top of the page, you'll be able to revert back to Mumsnet classic. I know what you mean about not liking the new look. There's enough change in our lives already.

Silk - Hope you aren't getting too frustrated about waiting around. Can't be long befroe you are holding your wonderful bundle of loveliness.
Have just read about you fly problem. Poosr old you. Sounds horrid. Try these people who might have some useful stuff. My Mum bought a plug in sonar thing which was fab at getting rid ants, not sure about flies though. JML direct sell them

RG - Hope the tip trip was a success.

Iris - Pleased to hear Elliot is doing so well. sounds like life is going well for you all.

Lizzie - You sound like one very luved up lady . Glad you are with me on the Gordon front.

aikigypsy · 02/11/2007 16:08

Huge congratulations to Anna and Pixie!!! Glad we're getting more girls, too.

Chodru -- I'm with you on the hair in scrunchie thing. Everyone says that it looks nicer down, but it drives me crazy getting in the way, and I'm too lazy to do anything fancy with it.

Silk -- bleurgh! Nasty! I hope your kitchen is fly-free soon!

I'm feeling technically challenged or maybe just lazy this afternoon, so my haloween picture is sideways. DP was trying to do generic Celtic warrior, but everyone thought he was doing Mel Gibson in Braveheart. I thought he looked quite nice, but he did get blue paint all over the inside of the car.

We went to see my friend with her newborn at the hospital yesterday afternoon. I am officially ready! I baked chocolate chip cookies on Haloween, then last night I made two big batches of soup. Am I nesting?

choudru · 02/11/2007 16:23

Ladies ladies - settle down please. All this talk of Gordon Ramsey etc is not appropriate for this forum. I thoroughly disapprove

Although if we are on the subject, I really really fancy Shaun from Stenders. My word - he is so so sexy. And the fact that he fancies yummy mummy Tanya (who is also pregnant) makes me seriously believe I would be in with a chance if ever our paths should cross. One glance at me with my post-birth glow and clinched-in waist (thanks to M&S) and he'd be putty in my hands.

Been a bit lazy today but the house is clean and both I and DS are fed and watered so nothing being neglected.

All this talk of reading does remind me what a pleasure it is. I love reading as well although I haven't been as prolific since DS appeared. Need to find a local book club to join once life settles down.

Lizzie - IKWYM about being a SAHM. Half the time I feel all earth mothery and loved up but the other half I do admit I do miss the world of work (). I think I will be looking to get back to work reasonably soon after LO arrives but only part time so I get the best of both worlds.

Silk - that all sounds very yuck regardless of how hygienic they may be. How did the reflexology go?

RG - hope you had fun at the tip! Not exactly a day out but it is very satisfying to have a good old clear out.

FCH - I also use that method of calculating the real cost of clothes. Using that method, some of my most expensive clothes cost me peanuts - seriously. Jackets that I've had for years etc.

And regarding middle of the night cuppas - will DH actually get up to make you cuppas? If so, I married the wrooong man.

How quickly 14 hours has become 7.5. Looks like I'll be joining your club after all grrr...

JARM - hope you're not feeling too sick today. I would recommend you cut back on apple crumble and send it up to Leeds instead.

LOM - I'll take any apples off your hands with pleasure, thanks. You can have some Damsons from our garden in return

Time for a double decker I think. Bought it for DH but I need it NOW.

choudru · 02/11/2007 16:27

Aiki - your eye belly looks WICKED! What a photo to show LO when they are older

LOM - very very pleased the results brought good news. Hope you weren't worrying too much!

FCH · 02/11/2007 17:18

LOM - brilliant news about the tests.

Silk - Yuck - that does sound horrid, but good news they are not breeding. Presumably there would be some issues with having lots of chemicals sprayed around at the moment!

Aiki - love the photo - I would never have thought of doing something like that but it is fab.

Choudru - yes he would get out of bed to make tea - he is an absolute darling and is just sooooo excited at the prospect of finally being a father (he has been dying to have babies for about 10 years) that nothing is too much trouble. On the other hand I would probably only be able to bring myself to ask him whilst he is on leave and doesn't have to go to work so after his leave I will probably be joining the flask brigade!!

By the way I am really glad I am not the only one who uses the cost per wear argument. I am right with you - the things I really want badly enough to spend lots of money on are always better value as I then wear them loads, whereas I think the biggest waste is to spend £10 on something I'm not sure about and then never wear it or only wear it once. My DH is almost convinced too - I told you he was a darling

FCH · 02/11/2007 17:20

PS - Choudru - meant to say - it isn't that bad over here in the overdue corner, especially as it is the weekend. Not sure I will be so chilled about it on Monday but there you go. What I can't believe is that you are here about to go overdue when you were so worried about having a premie - so well done you for getting here

sparklygothkat · 02/11/2007 17:51

we have hit 5lb!!!! Callum is 5lb 1oz!!
