RGPargy · 31/10/2007 17:48

Jinxed - good to have you back! Bladdy trick or treaters! I'm going to be ignoring the front door like the old grumble guts i have become.

I am very tired today for no good reason. One of the women in my local pre-natal class is in the hospital today, and was 9cm dialated at last report. I'm a bit of her LO having a Halloween birthday! Not sure when I should go visit. She's in the local hospital, will probably be there tomorrow and the next day.

I talked with the woman who runs the shop about when I'll quit working, and we've settled on next Wednesday. So, only five more half-days of work for me!

aikigypsy · 31/10/2007 17:54

Good Luck Anna!!
(x-post)

jinxed · 31/10/2007 17:58

GOOD LUCK ANNA!!!!!!

Easywriter · 31/10/2007 18:00

Good luck Anna!!!

silkcushion · 31/10/2007 19:00

Still no baby silk. God damn it . Bloody show keeps happening periodically. Had diarrhoea twice today too (sorry why am I giving you guys all this info?)But no regular contractions.

Wish I hadn't had a show it's set my expectations far too high.

Someone please slap me out of this self pitying mood.

sarahloumadam · 31/10/2007 19:16

oooh good luck Anna!!

Another baby to report! My friend's daughter had a baby girl this morning . Must be something in the air. I knew all these people due in November and they have all had them at once! Just my best friend and me to go now (and all you lovely ladies of course).

Glad you feeling better LOM - didn't mean to ignore your post this morning, xpost.

LOM and Chocoloate - have read One Good Turn - KAte Atkinson is one of my fave authors. Last really good book I read was called The Book Thief (can't remember who by) but be warned is v.. Perhaps not one for hormotional ladies like us.

Glad am not the only one feeling tired and grumpy - felt so good in my second trimester but now poor DH doesn't know what reception he is going to get when he comes home - tears & cuddles or crazy, red-faced woman!

One good thing about living in a flat - no trick or treaters! (Baa humbug).

Have just sent DH out to shops for choc supplies - your posts are making me drool! Sending him is revenge for waking me up for a lift last night.

Have a good evening. x

sarahloumadam · 31/10/2007 19:18

Will NOT slap you Silk, aren't the runs a sign? Fingers crossed +++++++ labour vibes x

fiona76 · 31/10/2007 19:22

Lizzie- My DH did the same the TENs machine put it on and turned it up giving me a massive shock. I was hoping it would bring on labour but alas. Its nice when turned on low so I think it will be good in labour. My sisiter said it was a good distraction.

I have been so tired today. I went swimming this morning and came home in a grump and ended up going to bed at 3.30 and sleeping all afternoon. Woke with dribble all ove myself and I missed home and away- gutted but slighty happier.

Silk - Slap is not not needed but I am sending you a virual mug of cocoa

Loopy - Thanks for the tens tip. I ordered mine today from that place you recommended.

Fiona - Well done on swimming. Dribbling after exercise is permitted. I snoozed all pm too. The three hour lunch I had with my friend fair wore me out.

Sarah - Thanks for the book tip. I'll save that one until after Lo is born . I can't do sad at the mo. If you fancy something meaty, have you tried Middlesex by Jeffery Eugenedies or anything by Sarah Waters; the Fingermith is superb? I do like my books

Aiki - You really must be ready to stop work now

No sign of Choudru today

Right , I'm off to watch Gordon.

choudru · 31/10/2007 21:04

Evening ladies,

Just clocking in to let you know I'm STILL very pregnant. Have had an exhausting afternoon taking DS for haircut, getting stuck in rush hour traffic, visits to Argoose and supermarket shop. Got home, chucked DS in the bath and now putting my feet up at last.

Bought a cheapo kettle for our bedroom. Thought it would come in useful for those middle of the night feeds. Can just make a quick cuppa without having to go down 2 floors to the kitchen (our bedroom is in the loft).

Also picked up some dextro energy sweets for labour.

Having very bad lower back pain but no contractions today. Grrr...

Good luck to Silk, Pixie and Anna (hope that covers everyone with impending chance of having their babies very immediately)!

Loopy - thank you so much for that info. I had no idea it was an issue until Lizzie brought it up. Will definitely be raising it with consultant on tuesday (but hopefully baby will arrive before then).

RG - I saw the eton mess recipe and DH fancies making it. Sounds like I should get him to make it soon!

One of my antenatal group had a boy yesterday and she's not even due until the 7th. Very rude of her to jump the queue when 3 of us are due before then!

choudru · 31/10/2007 21:08

By the way LOM - 3 HOURS for lunch?!

As for emotional ups and downs - I'm kind of ok now but was like that last week. DH compares it to being married to my evil twin sister. Not that I have a twin and if I had one I don't think she would be evil. Or that she would be married to my DH.

Good luck Anna - good luck Silk.

Am booooorrrreeedd.

I wonder if I finished work too early - I know I'd be knackered if I was still there, but I have never had time off before - don't know what to do with myself other than household type jobs I don't want to do. You guys are all so good at the cooking and stuff - I just can't get motivated to do that.

DH came home with a little gift bag and looked all pleased with himself. He just said "I've bought a present for our baby" and I burst into tears at the thought of him being a lovely Daddy. I don't think he knows what to do with my emotional state! Bless.

I'm 37 + 3 now and am wondering if the baby has started to "drop". It feels lower and I need the loo all the time. I also have a very odd pressure feeling in my bits IYKWIM. Anyone else get this - what do you reckon?

jinxed · 31/10/2007 22:13

ooooh thanks for letting us know Yorkie!

Positive vibes for pixie xxxx

(JARM)

jinxed · 31/10/2007 22:15

ELB - my baby has "dropped" and Im getting a lot of pressure down there too.... its a horrible feeling! MAkes you just want the baby out NOW!

Im only 36+2 so still a way to go yet I think, but it will be sods law that the weekend of the 16th will be when DS makes his appearance as my dad is away and he is our babysitter!

May have to put my brother and SIL on standby!

ChocolateHobnob · 01/11/2007 07:40

Good luck Pixie! What a pain it's taking so long. Fingers crossed c-section won't be necessary!

Anna, hope it's going well for you too.

And Silk!

ELB, I am not used to being off work either - try shopping/DVD watching/reading. Cooking is quite therapeutic though... And going out for lunch is positively decadent - as LOM could testify to...

RG, that mousse is in Nigella Express with a different name - quick mousse or instant mousse or easy mousse or something - but it isn't very nice, it's too rich! The brownies are gorgeous.

Well it was my due date yesterday so am officially overdue today! Went out last night to celebrate due date and avoid Halloweeners to the place where we had our wedding reception and it was lovely. Today am meeting friends for lunch and then am going to have a potter round the shops and pick myself some Xmas presents (!).

This morning, after another non existent night's sleep, I'm just going to potter about and eat some of the brownies I made yesterday.

Labour vibes being sent all round!

fiona76 · 01/11/2007 08:01

Well it's arrived November is here!!! I've got my second to last antenatal class today and then might do a spot of christmas shopping if I can be bothered. I'm meeting my work mates at 5 for a catch up so looking forward to that. DH worked all night only got home after 7 this morning so he will be tired during antenatal. He is catching 40 winks now- well maybe only 15 winks.

Good luck to pixie, silk and anna. Hope you go soon as well Chocolate. When is it my turn??? 2 more weeks until my EDD bring it on...

buzzybee · 01/11/2007 08:36

Hello all - message from Anna! (I'm due in Dec, also in NZ). Its now 9.30pm here.

Text from Anna at 11am this morning: "Induction started at 8am. Nothing yet so getting some rest, have nice room with view of Auckland harbour"

I tried to text her back about 7pm and have had no reply - so maybe labour in progress?!

I'll keep you posted if I hear anything more overnight!!!

RGPargy · 01/11/2007 08:40

Morning everyone!

I'm off to get my hair done this morning, yay! I was meant to be growing it again so i could get my braids done, but then DP pointed out that my hair would look horrid in my birth photos if i dont have it cut now lol. I have decided to go back to blonde too. I did like the red when it was first done, but i do miss the blonde too.

I'll catch up with you all when i get back. Have a nice morning every one!
