Just made the next thread as @ChipsAreLife will be otherwise engaged xx

Arghhhh, my washing machine has just broken! So now my house is still inviting water in from various unlocated sources, plumbing is up the pooper and I've no washing machine either. I feel so totally out of control!! 😭 At this rate I'll be in labour whilst directing (shouting) at tradespeople, joining you in the last minute club @sianyflewog!
At least I've stocked the freezer with meals and most baby stuff I already managed to wash. But still, arghhhh!

Has anyone suffered carpal tunnel syndrome in their pregnancy? It is so bad at night, kept me awake most of the night last night.

ShiningStarz · 04/09/2020 11:01

Nope @LatteLover12 I'm being induced next wed!!!!

WillowT · 04/09/2020 11:04

@Margo34 Yes the the carpel tunnel syndrome. Last night was really bad for me too. I get it most nights now, so annoying as I just want to sleep! It's such an odd sensation too!

I don't think there is anything to relieve it, is there? Mine is awful!

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 04/09/2020 12:38

I don’t think I have carpel but definitely have swollen fingers feel arthritis-y by the morning ! Heartburn is definitely horrendous though!!

WillowT · 04/09/2020 12:46

@Margo34 I don't think there is 😫

ShiningStarz · 04/09/2020 13:03

Just notice there are 2 sections today!! @HugeAgeGap good luck too xx

ShiningStarz · 04/09/2020 13:03

Any signs?!! @Roxy8203

Roxy8203 · 04/09/2020 13:06

@ShiningStarz nope nothing. Haven't had a show or lost my waters. I think I've made it too comfy in there for him. I am aware that my LMP date is the 7th though so thinking maybe that date is more accurate. I have my next midwife appointment on the 7th so will probably have a sweep then if he's still not showing any signs

ShiningStarz · 04/09/2020 19:01

Hehe @Roxy8203 he must be nice and snug in there!! I'm getting exited about meeting little one, everyday is a drag now!!

Smilymami · 04/09/2020 19:18

Hi everyone. I went in to ADAU yesterday and the day before for my first episodes of reduced movements. The consultant thought it was better to get baby out. So I'm being induced today at 39+5. So far I've got the first pessary in and only getting period cramps at the moment. Hopefully things progress quickly from here.
How's everyone doing?

ShiningStarz · 04/09/2020 19:49

Hey @Smilymami I hope you are ok. Did they say why you were having reduced movements or perhaps it's just precautionary. I hope the pessary works for you, good sign your getting p cramps 🤞🤞 was your partner allowed to stay with you? I'm putting a towel down on the bed tonight and DP is putting bib bag on passenger seat - trust him to think of the precious car 😂😂 all just in case!!

Emmy2020 · 04/09/2020 19:58

@Smilymami Hope it progresses quickly, good luck!
I had my last scan yesterday, have the midwife Tuesday and been told they’ll discuss an induction I’ll be 38 weeks the day after the app. I’ve been told from the start they won’t let me go over 40 weeks, anyone have any idea how early they’d do the induction? Like week before 40 weeks or just a day or so? Really can’t wait for my appointment so I know when to expect it will happen.

Roxy8203 · 04/09/2020 20:07

@ShiningStarz I don't think I'll have much longer to wait 🤞🏼

ShiningStarz · 04/09/2020 20:25

@Emmy2020 it's dependant on you and baby but also when the ward has a bed!! I'v been told I'm booked in for wed but it's dependant in there being a bed and they prioritise urgent cases above me. I'v to go for my covid test on Tuesday and isolate them from then onwards.

Fingers crossed @Roxy8203

I had a teeny teeny bit of light pink on my pants, nothing worth really mentioning, will keep an eye on it. Omg would love to avoid induction and progress naturally 💗

UrsulaSings · 04/09/2020 20:27

@Margo34 that sounds so stressful about the washing machine etc! My car broke down literally the day before I came to hospital to be induced. Just had to leave it to be sorted out when we're home again. Also had carpal tunnel and I looked up exercises and I do this one where you hold your hand above your head and just open your fingers in and out into a fist, but dont clench them. Just helped with the stiffness as I felt like I could barely move them sometimes!

@Smilymami hope your induction goes quicker than mine has!! I've been here since Tuesday! Going down to the labour ward tonight though to have my waters broken, wait 4 hours, then be put on the drip. I'm pretty sure things will ramp up after that so fingers crossed little man will be here tomorrow.

ShiningStarz · 04/09/2020 20:54

Thinking of you @UrsulaSings why must they do these things at night!!! Haha!! Is your partner with you?

Lilice · 04/09/2020 20:55

Good luch @Smilymami and @UrsulaSings , hope things go smoothly and quickly for you both!

@Margo34 hope you manage to get the washing machine sorted, very bad timing!

Emmy2020 · 04/09/2020 22:42

@ShiningStarz Thanks, never had an induction before so no idea 😁 Ooh maybe that’s the beginning of it for you, fingers crossed.

Smilymami · 04/09/2020 23:03

Thanks everyone
@ShiningStarz I don't think they know why movements reduced as scan was fine and CTG was fine. induction is likely precautionary and I think its what they do around here if reduced movements occur in a full term baby, this may vary in different trusts. Consultant said there is no added benefit in extending a term pregnancy if reduced movements are detected. DH is allowed for 90mins a day. Every bed in my bay has a different 90mins time slot, so that visitors do not meet each other. Lol, I like the preparation.. in case your waters break.
@UrsulaSings oh my! That's been a long one, but I'm sure it will all be worth it when u cuddle your little one tomorrow. My cervix is still only a fingertip dilated after first pessary, second pessary in now and hopefully it dilates enough to have my waters broken. Did you have the 6hrly pessary? And how many?

liquoricecravings · 04/09/2020 23:13

I think I've just had my first early contractions. Probably braxton hicks, but still, I'm excited by this. I've now gone through the last minute bits my husband has to add to the hospital bag and put a list on the fridge for him for when the real thing happens.

sianyflewog · 05/09/2020 07:57

Any more babies? 👀 I feel like I live with mild period pain, and I wouldn’t be sorry if it progressed to something. As much as it sounds like I’m last minute @Margo34, everything is washed, Moses basket and cribs are both ready, our hospital bags are packed minus a few non-essential bits and bobs... Nursery just isn’t done because my boy has been the priority, spending all my time with him (and I feel sad that it’s the end of that), getting him settled in his new bedroom and ready for school in the next few weeks. This baby won’t be sleeping in there for 6 months so there’s no real rush - but I have the paint, and just need my husband to paint it! 😂 Most important thing is that baby has warmth, somewhere to sleep, and something to eat and I tick all those boxes - just so much more relaxed this time round! 😊

Lazydaisydaydream · 05/09/2020 08:09

Had some contractions last night, twenty minutes apart and was getting excited, went to bed hoping to get some sleep before they got closer together.... And they just stopped. So anticlimactic Blush can't believe I haven't had this baby yet. I'm getting so impatient and I'm only 40+3 so still plenty of time 🙈

OrDis · 05/09/2020 08:24

Awww bless @Lazydaisydaydream! How frustrating that they just stopped. Hopefully the real thing will start up again soon.

I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and i’m experiencing zilch. Nothing. Nada. I was hoping she’d come a little early but I think she’s going to be content to stay in there until the very end lol!
