Well I had the sweep today and it was ok, it was a bit uncomfortable but I tried to relax as much as possible and it was all over within a minute. Cervix is soft so the sweep worked. Fingers crossed something starts in the next 48 hrs or sooner than induction anyway!! (Next wed).

Lilice · 02/09/2020 14:37

Wow you're so organised ladies! I was planning of buying several jars of pesto and pasta sauce, and frozen pizzas 🙈
Hope your daughter has a great first day @Emmy2020 . My two are going back tomorrow, im already feeling emotional at the thought of leaving my son as it will be his first day in primary school

Lazydaisydaydream · 02/09/2020 15:53

I did some batch cooking a few weeks ago and it's been really hard not to eat it all already Blush. Someone gave me some advice that they struggled with lunch more than tea, so I made big batches of soup and things for the freezer as well. And went to m&s food and stocked up on a load of stuff for the freezer that I wouldn't normally treat myself to but thought as I'm having a baby I deserve it Grin

Lazydaisydaydream · 02/09/2020 15:53

And that sweet potato and lentil stew looks delicious!!

Smilymami · 02/09/2020 16:58

@ShiningStarz lucky you. I had my second attempt at a sweep today, still very unfavorable cervix... Midwife couldn't even reach it. I just want to cryy. I'm so exhausted and was really hoping the sweep could get things moving. I think I'm going to be pregnant forever

Chanel05 · 02/09/2020 17:03

@Lilice I'm also going to be on the bulk buying jars and pizza bandwagon! I don't usually cook food to freeze so I know there's no point in me even attempting it!

ShiningStarz · 02/09/2020 17:18

Oh no @Smilymami how far along are you?? I'm 39 weeks today. My stomach feels sore towards the top
So I feel a bit different but apart from
That no sign of anything happening!!! Yet 🙏🙏

ShiningStarz · 02/09/2020 18:05

Thinking of you @UrsulaSings I'm hoping Youv progresses by now 🙏🤞

annie1994 · 02/09/2020 18:14

WillowT · 02/09/2020 19:11

@annie1994 Congratulations! He's a little cutie

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 02/09/2020 19:14

Aww huge congratulations !!!!

Emmy2020 · 02/09/2020 19:18

@annie1994 congratulations 😊
@Lilice Thank you, she said she enjoyed it but still came home emotional think it’s all strange for her and she’s worried about where to go. She will be fine though as teachers are everywhere telling them where which classrooms are. Hope it goes well for you tomorrow!

Emmy2020 · 02/09/2020 19:21

@MooseWL Thank you 😊
Ah that’s so nice to sleep most of the way through without having to get up 😁

LatteLover12 · 02/09/2020 19:44

Congratulations @annie1994 ❤️

MooseWL · 02/09/2020 19:49

Aw more babies 😍 congrats @Annie1994!

liquoricecravings · 02/09/2020 19:58

Congratulations @annie1994! What a sweetie he is. Making an appearance on the due date is fairly unusual too - he must have known to hold on for those last few hours Smile

liquoricecravings · 02/09/2020 20:01

@TJ17 how are you doing?

ChipsAreLife · 02/09/2020 20:28

Congrats @annie1994 welcome to the world Freddie 🥰

@Lilice I'm the same, got some pizzas and ready meals in! Ocado just changed to M&S and the timing couldn't be better!!! I generally just fancy salads and easy things for the first few weeks. I give up on hot meals as mine always kicked off when I sat down 🤣🤣

@ShiningStarz finger crossed!

@Smilymami I was the same with my first. I couldn't get a a sweep till 41 weeks, please don't feel down. Baby is just loving that home you've made so comfy for it!!

I had contractions last night for three hours and then they stopped! Was going to call hospital at 6 am but didn't need to! Annoyed!!!!! Oh well only two more sleeps and then baby is coming anyway 👏👏👏

@annie1994 congratulations!! He's beautiful, hope you are OK Flowers

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 02/09/2020 21:06

Soooooooo ready for this baby to come out !! Feel like a bloated beached whale in the evenings (and every other time!)

ShiningStarz · 02/09/2020 21:08

Congrats @annie1994 too cute 💙

UrsulaSings · 02/09/2020 21:11

Congratulations @annie1994!! Absoluteky gorgeous!

I'm absolutely loving those recipe ideas! Gonna save the links and write them down. I'm so unimaginative I always just make chilli or spaghetti bol!

Things havent moved on here at all. Still only 1cm dilated and cervix is still about 2cm long although apparently it's quite soft and stretchy now. They're taking the first pessary out in about an hour and then having a 'rest' for 12 hours, then they will put the next pessary in tomorrow morning for 24 hours.
