@lattelover12 I tried my swimming costume on and tried to pull it up over the bump and it just about came up to my boobs 🙄🤔
I have a bikini that I can just about get away with so I'm just going to have to have the bump out!
Cannot wait for a swim to feel less heavy!

LatteLover12 · 10/08/2020 21:10

Oh God, that will 100% be me in a couple of weeks @MooseWL 😂

Also, what the hell do I wear for knickers?! I can't wear my giganto maternity pants can I?! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

MooseWL · 10/08/2020 21:31

@lattelover12 didn't even think about that 😂 screw it gonna have to be the maternity pants (I have to roll mine down under the bump i didn't get proper maternity ones just went 2 sizes up in some comfy looking ones from sainsburys so they look extra ridiculous!) also I discovered the other day when trying to shave my bikini line that it's absolutely impossible without being able to see. 🤭😂🤭

We're about to lose all dignity giving birth anyway what does it matter 🙊

LatteLover12 · 10/08/2020 21:58

Honestly, I haven't been able to see anything south of my belly button for weeks now! Bikini line is definitely a challenge - I should have been more conscientious in yoga 😂😂😂

Chanel05 · 10/08/2020 22:49

@Lorna198 @crazyexornot @Sunsage @liquoricecravings @annie1994 I've added you to the list. Will update and post as and when babies begin to come! I'm thinking 2 weeks!

Oh. Holy. Jesus. How is everyone coping in this heat?! I had a hormonal meltdown earlier as I was hotter than the sun and we've now ordered an air conditioning unit to come tomorrow.

liquoricecravings · 10/08/2020 23:44

@Chanel05 thank you Smile.
I'm really struggling in the heat too. Usually I'd be out in the garden sunbathing and enjoying reading or having a snooze on the grass but I feel so uncomfortable being so heavily pregnant now. I had a nap in the living room yesterday and woke up overheated. I couldn't stand up long enough to make dinner. Luckily DH was super helpful. I have a new appreciation for people that struggle in the heat!

Emmy2020 · 11/08/2020 05:42

@liquoricecravings I had such a bad sleep, didn’t sleep til at least 1am as it was so hot and my lower back hurt all night so couldn’t get comfy, my eldest daughter was so sweet and got me lots of cold flannels to cool me down. Think tonights meant to be just hot! Wish it would cool down!

liquoricecravings · 11/08/2020 06:04

@Emmy2020 it's difficult when you can't cool down and get comfortable enough to rest properly isn't it. I've been awake for the past hour as I just couldn't get comfortable. The baby is enjoying me sitting up though - there's been lots of wriggling going on. Your daughter sounds so lovely looking after you. I'm hoping the thunderstorms that are forecast will help to break the intense heat.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 11/08/2020 06:53

Yeh sleep has been a right pain last few nights !! Resulted in my booking an hour in my work diary yesterday for a meeting which was actually for a sleep!! Eek !

MooseWL · 11/08/2020 07:04

@mostlyambridgeandcoffee booking a sleep meeting is amazing 🤭

I slept on the sofa again which isn't the comfiest and I didn't get much sleep but I couldn't bear to be upstairs as it was tropical. Downstairs was still hot just not as bad.

Lilice · 11/08/2020 08:10

I saw another thread with useful tips for sleeping in this heat. Strangely I'm sleeping better because I'm totally exhausted by the end of the day. I have the fan on all night, and sleep in my undies. There was someone who suggested washing your hair and going to bed with wet hair. @MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee good idea about the sleep meeting haha
@Emmy2020 glad you had a good weekend with your friend. I met up with some friends last night for dinner, felt great to socialize again

Smilymami · 11/08/2020 09:56

@ShiningStarz it took me about one hour to get 5ml. I just pressed around my areola and as the milk came out I'd quickly suction it directly into the syringe.. the more instruments you are using the more the hassle I think. I had a wash and did a warm massage of both breasts before I started. Initially I was sitting upright and it was slow, after about 30mins ..I lay down while expressing and then the milk really started coming. I experienced some contractions while doing this, but they were not painful.. they were like BH but lasting longer.

It's my birthday today. I am 30.. big milestone for me turning 30 and becoming a mum for the first time.

Laura1348 · 11/08/2020 10:48

So just got an induction date of 24th August! 😬😬
Nervous or what!

ChipsAreLife · 11/08/2020 11:20

Ah that's so exciting @Laura1348! At least you have a date to aim towards.

ugh this heat! I am ok in the day but at night it's a different st ory!!! Last night my bedroom didn't drop below 26. luckily I have a fan so managed to sleep. my feet have really swollen though, anyone elses? Drinking loads of water and keeping them up but doesn't seem to be helping!

Just had my 36 week scan was so lovely to see baby, was sucking it fingers! Sadly DH couldn't come as he has a suspected chest infection. So typical!!! But baby measuring big and off the chart for abdominal circumference which can indicate gestational diabetes apparently so I have to have a fasted blood test tomorrow. I've never had anything like this in my previous pregnancies so feel a little worried but I know they'll look after us if anything is unusual.

@smilymami happy birthday!

Can't deal with this humidity. Just showered and already sweating. Hopefully the pool at the spa is nice and cool. My partner is laughing at me cos I've packed my giant pregnancy pillow!

Wow @laura1348 that's soon, are you feeling ready, how exciting!

MooseWL · 11/08/2020 11:42

@chipsarelife aw that's a shame about your partner, have your trust started allowing partners or was it private? Good luck with the GD test but like you say even if it's +ve they'll look after you.

Roxy8203 · 11/08/2020 12:05

@Smilymami happy birthday.

I've harvested for the first time today, got 2 syringes full which I was happy with. Wish I could collect the over night leakage as I seem to lose a lot

Laura1348 · 11/08/2020 12:51

@ChipsAreLife thanks
@MooseWL thank you- nowhere near ready! 😬
Just got to take it as it comes...
thanks everyone.

ChipsAreLife · 11/08/2020 12:54

Yes happy birthday @Smilymami! Sorry I missed that message. I turned 30 just before my first was born too. Still haven't managed to have a big celebration like I said I would 😆. Hope you've got your feet up and some cake to enjoying

ChipsAreLife · 11/08/2020 12:56

@MooseWL no it was nhs. My trust do 36 week scans these days. Based on my results I can see why!! Such a shame he couldn't come as it was so lovely and even though it wasn't Covid it's not fair to take him in and scare people if he coughs! We get to meet baby soon anyway! X

OP posts:
MooseWL · 11/08/2020 13:19

@chipsarelife true! I went out for lunch yesterday, started coughing cos I inhaled some of my drink and everyone was staring at me. I was like it's fine I'm just choking 😂
That's great that you get a 36 week scan as standard, it's bizarre how much difference there is between trusts.
I'm going for one when I'll be 35+5 just as a precaution as they struggled to get measurements when i had to go for a growth scan so I'm looking forwards to that. Hopefully he'll be not facing my back this time, could only see the back of his head last time!

Lilice · 11/08/2020 14:40

Oh wow @Laura1348 that's just 2 weeks away!!
Happy birthday @Smilymami!

OrDis · 11/08/2020 15:45

Can’t cope with the heat today!!! Getting irrationally mad about how warm it is!

Laura1348 · 11/08/2020 15:51

@Lilice thanks!

I've just got a new car and got to pick it up at weekend. I've not really driven since March! It's about a 40minute drive.
I will be 37 weeks by then- bit nervous and wondered if people of that stage were still driving??
Thanks

annie1994 · 11/08/2020 16:02

@ChipsAreLife my baby’s abdominal circumference is right on the high end of normal. The first consultant (at 32 weeks) made me feel really bad and said to me it must be what I’m eating etc and that I should eat like a diabetic even though all my bloods were perfect. Then the second consultant (at 36 weeks) didn’t mind at all and said it was absolutely fine so who knows 🙈😂 hope your bloods are ok!
