@Laura1348 I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and still driving. It's not the most comfortable position being sat so upright

Laura1348 · 11/08/2020 16:52

@Roxy8203 thank you. I'm
Sure I'll be fine - just a bit nervous!

emma278 · 11/08/2020 17:45

@Laura1348 im still driving lots but have got myself a bump belt from john lewis to take the pressure of bump, i fhink halfords etc sell them too xx

ShiningStarz · 11/08/2020 17:45

Haha @MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee I'm off work now, just started mat leave yesterday. I remember falling asleep during a conference call just a few weeks ago :( I was mortified!! Nobody knew as camera was off but I was literally still on call for an extra 10 mins once it was over 🙈

Past week or so I haven't been napping during the day, it's like I have some energy back!!

Happy birthday @Smilymami 🎂 oh to be 30 again !! Enjoy your evening celebrations 🥳 that's great about the colostrum harvesting, I'm worried about starting off contractions lol so I'm not going to start until I'm 37.5 weeks! I haven't experienced BH. Our house is upside down for the next 2 weeks so I need week 36-38 to be smooth!!!!

Eeeeeek @Laura1348 how exciting!! How many weeks will you be by then?? I'v been given my date, my due date which is 9th sept.

@ChipsAreLife hope you are ok,
It's just likely you might be induced bit earlier, but know you are booked in for C sec, wonder would they bring that forward now.

@Laura1348 im driving fine at 36 weeks but my bump is not that big!! Iv a scan tomo morning so 🤞 everything is ok. Consultant said my bump has no bearing on size of baby.

ShiningStarz · 11/08/2020 17:46

@Roxy8203 that's great about the colostrum harvesting. Did you collect into a spoon?

Laura1348 · 11/08/2020 18:46

@emma278 that's reassuring - thank you!
@ShiningStarz I will be 38 week +2! Although, I've got sweeps next week so could be earlier!
Is the 9th due date or definite?
All soooo exciting!!
Xx

ShiningStarz · 11/08/2020 19:30

@Laura1348 how come they are inducing you at 38? Sorry if that's a bit personal just intrigued.
I have gestational diabetes so they don't want me going too far over due date so that's why I'v been booked in for the 9th, although the doc said emergencies take priority so might be I have to wait until the following day

ShiningStarz · 11/08/2020 19:38

Anyone ever bought their own tens machine?? A lot of positive birth stories on the hynobirthing site have mentioned use of it in earlly labour at home to get them through the initial bit.. ?

Roxy8203 · 11/08/2020 19:46

@ShiningStarz no I just used the syringe and collected it straight into that. There was a pot in the kit but I felt I might loss too much by using that. It was ok once I got used to it. It's not the quickest thing to do but I don't have anything else going on.

I've hired a tens rather than brought own

Lilice · 11/08/2020 20:08

@Laura1348 with my second child, my waters broke at my daughter's ballet class and i had to drive myself home to wait for my husband. I was 39 weeks. I guess as long as your bump is not too much in the way it should be ok. But if you feel uncomfortable, could you ask someone else to pick up the car for you?

Lilice · 11/08/2020 20:12

@ShiningStarz i hired a tens machine feom tesco for my first labour. Not sure if I'll bother this time. I seriously need to do a refresher antenatal course but cant get motivated 😱

ShiningStarz · 11/08/2020 20:28

Hmmm maybe hiring is the way to go @Lilice @Roxy8203
I'll have a look at that, wasn't sure if it was going to be easy to hire with covid. Thanks

Roxy8203 · 11/08/2020 20:40

@ShiningStarz I hired it yesterday and had an email today that it's been dispatched so should be here in a day or two. 7 weeks hire for £25

ShiningStarz · 11/08/2020 20:42

That's great price @Roxy8203 I'll do some googling now. Thank you

Roxy8203 · 11/08/2020 20:59

@ShiningStarz I've used a company called birth-ease. I'm 37 weeks tomorrow so that should cover me if I go over due and still have time to return it. The most I'll need it should be 5 weeks

Laura1348 · 11/08/2020 21:08

@ShiningStarz
No worries. IVF baby and blood issues. It's more risk for him to stay in than come out. It's always been In the plan from about 20wks +
I've also got my own tens machine- Amazon. Didn't like the thought of hiring!

ShiningStarz · 11/08/2020 21:10

Thanks @Roxy8203 I just ordered off that site !! It's being dispatched on Thursday xx

MooseWL · 11/08/2020 21:44

For anyone struggling with the heat tonight wearing a wet t-shirt to bed is game changing - I'm on a towel so the bed doesn't get too wet!

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 11/08/2020 22:29

For those that have done colostrum harvesting did you get the syringes from
your midwife / hospital or online ?

ShiningStarz · 11/08/2020 23:06

@MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee the midwife gave me the pack

Lazydaisydaydream · 12/08/2020 07:56

@Laura1348 when I was pregnant with my son I had to stop driving at about 36 weeks. I'm 37 weeks today Shock and still driving but my husband would like me to stop now as says I'm too close to the wheel in the case of an accident. And it is getting quite uncomfortable!

Laura1348 · 12/08/2020 08:50

@Lazydaisydaydream yeah my husband is the same- 'I'd never forgive myself' style!
It's a new car that I've not driven for more than 5 mins and I've got to drive it fir about 40mins alone...🤔🤔
It's tough. I don't really want him to get a lift there as that means him going in a car with some else and I'm on total avoid everyone- Covid!
Sorry for the panic rant...
Thanks

OrDis · 12/08/2020 10:02

@Laura1348 is he driving you there to pick it up? Could you drive his home instead of the new one? (If you are more famiiliar with his car).
I’m still driving mine (although not a great deal because i’m wfh and there is nowhere to go). I don’t mind it too much, the weirdest part I find is when the baby moves... I find it a bit disconcerting when i’m hurtling along at 30mph lol

Laura1348 · 12/08/2020 10:10

@OrDis yeah husband to drive there but I can't drive his back- company car and an automatic.
It's a real catch 22 situation.
Thanks though
Xx
