RGPargy · 25/09/2007 17:12

Kayla, i was watching Eastenders in between doing dinner. I dont think they showed anything of Ian and Steven. They just showed Jane running around assuming Ian had buggered off to South Africa and then she discovered the answerphone message from the hotel and went into a panic. That's about it really. I will no doubt watch the rest of the week's episodes on the omnibus as DP hates it when it's on lol.

We really do get around! My bf is due around the same time as me and someone said how nice it must be to have someone to talk to about pregnancy etc. I nearly said "oh I know loads of women who are due around that time" but thought it might sound a bit odd and cult-like!

Well I was going to have a big rant about inconsiderate husbands (expecting to be picked up from the races at god knows what time in god knows what state) but hormones have done a u-turn and I keep thinking about all the lovely things he does for me so scratch that. Think the lovely M & S prawn linguine I had for my tea may have had something to do with my mood change . I hope this emotional roller-coaster finishes once the baby is born?!

RE annoying partners of ex's - much sympathy. My DH's ex has a weird family who kept sending him birthday/xmas cards for years. We bumped her mum in a supermarket about 10 years after their split and she burst into tears and said how much she missed him and could we bring our wedding pics around to show her! We-i-rd! V.glad there were no children involved in that relationship. Much respect to you for dealing with them with dignity.

Hope you all have a good evening. Welcome swollen. I have had to stop wearing my engagement ring due to my chubby fingers!

ChocolateHobnob · 25/09/2007 19:44

Hi all

GOOD LUCK SGK! Looking forward to some good news!

Floanna, that IS really weird, I have to say. Unless she's v jealous and just madly overcompensating by pretending to be so happy??

RG, did you get a takeaway?

Kayla, had to laugh re the swimming costume -sorry!

Choudru, hope you enjoyed the takeaway too and also hope you work out the childcare options for the birth of lo! I bet it all works out just fine.

I'm about to collapse in front of the television - hoping to watch the baby programme but might not make it that late (sad I know). Does anyone else end up dying to go to bed and then utterly insomniac once you get there?

Chocolate on the sofa time! Have a good evening all. Sorry if I've missed people!

I feel exactly like that chocolatehobnob. I can hardly keep my eyes open when I sit on the sofa in front of the telly but as soon as I go to bed insomnia kicks in, very annoying . I was up last night at 3:30 again drinking tea (RedBush) and cream hobnobs.... On the plus side 34 weeks tomorrow, yay!

KaylaBmummy · 25/09/2007 20:42

SKG - Congratulations

RGPargy · 25/09/2007 20:51

Congrats to SGK!!

Sarah - that's just sooooo weird re the ex-MIL!!

Choc - Ooooo yessssss!! Ended up with sausage and chips from the chippy. Was lovely!!

I do end up feeling quite tired lately, but as for insomnia - forget it. I'm out like a light!! The only thing that wakes me up is either to change position (yes, it really IS that hard!) or to go for a wee, which is becoming more frequent again lately. Must be coz of LO doing tap dances on my bladder. Naughty little breech baby!

Who said Supernanny was on tonight?? I'm sure it's on tomorrow night and i cant find any sign of it on the listings for tonight??

iris66 · 25/09/2007 21:06

JARM · 25/09/2007 21:19

COngrats SGK!

Just popping in again, we have now moved and got ourselves almost settled in the new house (bar all the decorating!)

Am on 2 weekly checks with docs and midwifes now (from 30 weeks) because baby is big... well we knew this! Am measuring about 2 weeks bigger than i should, so they want to keep a close eye.

Am feeling very fed up and uncomfortable though, cant get comfy, cant sleep, feel sick (STILL!) and he doesnt stop moving in there! I go to sleep he is moving, i wake up he is moving, im sitting here now, he is moving!

Hope you are all well though - not much longer now even if it does feel like an eternity!

littleoldme · 25/09/2007 21:21

Congrats SGK

Jet - My lesson obs didn't happen A combination of different lesson times at the mo because it's Ramadan and some internal politics.

Loopy - glad I'm not the only Holby City addict.

Silk - glad you had good kip. Hope everything feels a bit better today.

Got a message from the ' burble incoherent maternity dept' at the hosp asking me to ring to arrange an appt for 'treatment' I didn't pick the message up till eight and now I'm wondering what it can be about. I had my last set of blood test two weeks ago. Wonder if it's anti-d related. They really shouldn't leave obscure messages grrr.

littleoldme · 25/09/2007 21:31

LOL have just been e-mailed by an agency about my own maternity cover

iris66 · 25/09/2007 21:40

I really should have started a separate stats thread shouldn't I hey ho...

I thought I was going into labour myself on saturday with all the packing for DD (sooo why are you late for uni then DD of iris? - ahh well, we all got D&V then my mum decided to go into labour because she got so stressed helping me pack!!) Thank god that didn't happen! All went smoothly, though the car was packed to the gunnells. DH was a bit miffed because I insisted on driving all the way, bar the last few miles (I'm nothing if not true to my word and I did say we'd split the drive ) he was only narked because he was squashed by loads of bags for 4 hours (clearly it would have been fine for me to be squashed - git!!) DD seems happy enough though and I didn't cry (much) on the way home. The great thing is that DH got 2 Skype phones when he was in the States over the summer (v v cheaply) so she can phone home whenever she wants for free over t'interweb We had a long chat tonight which was lovely. I spent the day cleaning her room today (OMG how much dust?!!!) and shed a little tear as I know it's going to stay clean & tidy until she's next home (unsure whether it was a tear of happiness for tidiness or sadness at her absence

Welcome to all the new ladies (swollen - I've just realised I didn't add you - so sorry - hope your hands/feet go down a bit too)

Ex's and children - emotive subject. My exDH remarried and although I was there when DD met their first LO (and I did coo a bit & say all the right "isn't he lovely" things) I certainly didn't want to get involved and be friends (she was a bit of a psycho, nice one minute - spitting vitriol the next!) That said, ExDH left her too & now has fab GF who I am good friends with and who adores DD, bought a gift when I had DS & who I would happily invite for dinner (if my DH (thrice wed)wasn't so anti anything to do with ex's!)It's a real minefield. The only advice I'd give is if you feel uncomfortable then steer clear and politely make sure that your wishes are known.

I'll catch up properly tomorrow - have to go & sit in a comfy seat as BH's have been really bad the last few days (did you know that it's impossible to blow your nose whilst having BH!? - it bloody hurts anyway!) I'm off - night night all

berrybliss · 25/09/2007 22:04

bringing up baby and couldn't possibly do the 50's method i thought it was really cruel. Why would you have a child and then not cuddle it, look it in the eye etc???!! I love the sling idea but not to keen on the idea of having the baby in the bed i just think thats too dangerous What did everyone else make of the methods??

Any tried and tested methods?
