Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AnnainNZ · 14/10/2007 03:45

Silk - I've been getting vague cramp-y feelings too, like mild period pain, not all the time, just now and again, for the last week - from what I've read it's early "practice" contractions. Quite exciting as although I'm not exactly looking forward to labour, I am getting to the stage where I really want to see the baby and it's exciting to know things are kind of "starting".

Dh went out to watch the rugby at 7am and has just returned (at 3pm) absolutely trolleyed, , let's hope I don;t go into labour today, eh? Or next Sunday when the final's on. I know it's only once every 4 years and all that. He's now telling me he has a very sore head, strangely my sympathy levels are pretty low!

AnnainNZ · 14/10/2007 03:48

Oh and SGk - hope all is well with Callum.

And RG - playing at gigs - where are you getting this energy from???? Whereabouts in M/cr were you playing? (I'm from just outside M/cr originally)

JARM · 14/10/2007 07:36

morning all

you lot dont half chat I cant keep up so im not even going to try!

Not much been happening here, am a little tired, fat and fed up so pretty much like the rest of you!

Im starting to get a little restless now, just want to get everything set up in the nursery but cant until the girls have stopped camping out in there - we are decorating their bedroom at the moment, so there is stuff everywhere!

Hope you are all well x

ChocolateHobnob · 14/10/2007 09:17

Hi Jarm, it seems we're all incurable chatterboxes! Nice to hear from you. Sounds like we're all pretty similar at the moment!

Anna, I've not had any practice contractions other than painless BH. I'm not convinced lo is ever going to want to come out!

I don't think lo has enough space inside me - I get v tender ribs from lo's bottom when I sit for a while. It's okay standing and lying. Think lo is squashed a bit when I sit.

Well, got another nice day ahead - shopping this am and then this pm off to visit friends and their 2 little boys. 1 is 2 1/2 and the other is 18 weeks - they look alike and they're gorgeous. Cue much baby-stalking.

Hope you all have a nice Sunday!

iris66 · 14/10/2007 11:19

woohoo - what a result on the rugby DH now insists that if we're going to go for getting LO moving it's got to be early in the week so there's no risk of ruining his match watching next w/e bless him - Though, to be fair, I want to watch it too (as well as avoiding being induced) so it's all systems go in irisville for op birthday/ ex early bird

Realised today that ours is the next thread due to transfer to Post Natal!

Anna - I've got a really tickly throat(leftover from the horrid cold) and every time I have a bout of coughing it sets off braxton hicks. My bump was virtually solid all last night but no pain yet - it goes strangely square looking as well which is a bit odd, anyone else get this?

ChocolateHobNob - there's going to be much cluckiness this afternoon isn't there Hope you have a good time. I've only just started feeling feet under my ribs when LO's squashed - I guess it's too low normally (a friend said yesterday that my bump looks like a strap on comedy one because it's so big & I've not put any weight on anywhere else)

JARM - sorry you're fed up - not long eh

Jetgirl - it's lovely to be waited on a bit isn't it. I really appreciated it when my mum came to stay last w/e and for the first time ever I got her to do things for me when she said "anything I can do?" (washing floors/cleaning bathroom/ironing) and didn't feel guilty! I felt so proud of myself too as I know it makes her feel more useful if she has a task.

Is anyone else's family coming over to help at all when you have LOs? Mine's coming to mind DS over induction (plus a few days) if I make it to then (fingers crossed I wont!)

RGPargy - hope last night went well (you must be mad going all that way!!) and that you're able to have a proper rest today (with nice, sustaining wispa - obviously)

Best get on - DH has taken DS out to get more drawer locks as he keeps on trapping his fingers really badly (when do they learn??!!) and I'm supposed to be cleaning!

Have a good sunday all

mrsjetson · 14/10/2007 13:08

Hi there

The niggles have appeared I see!!!!

I ended up getting DH to fly back yesterday morning - we went straight to the hosp for mointoring as I have been calling my midwife with nasty pains - not really contractions but enough for me to have to stop what I'm doing and breathing!!!!

All is well - she is just letting me know that she's on her way - whether that's 3 hours, 3 days or 3 weeks - that's anyone's guess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soooooo...we are all on our way - how exciting.

Have a good aftertnoon x

littleoldme · 14/10/2007 13:39

Silk - Glad the aches and paind have calmed down. V of your spa day. Sounds fab.

Clu - welcome to the mob. Nov is going to be a very busy month!

Mrs J - Glad to kow all is well. You're right. Irt is getting exciting

Right off to spend some cash at John Lewis.

Loopy your bed sounds heavenly am v

aikigypsy · 14/10/2007 13:49

Very exciting, MrsJetson! Let us know what happens.

I've just skimmed to catch up. Now that DP is here, I'm really spending much less time on the internet. We still have quite a bit of work to do in getting ready, but now we've washed and re-installed the covers on the car seat (it was used, and covered with cat hair), and have gotten a few other things straightened out.

My mother has organised a baby shower for this afternoon, so there will be more stuff, and then after that I'm allowed to do my own shopping, so hopefully LO won't crawl out too early.

I'm also getting period-like cramps here and there, but nothing in a regular pattern, so I'm not paying too much attention to them.

Well, having spent the best part of an hour catching up I have now forgotten everything I was going to say except SGK - it sounds really worrying Callum having health niggles but I'm sure that he is getting really good care; and Kayla - that sounds rubbish but don't worry about feeling down, everyone does and it sounds like you have more cause than most

Not much going on down here, except that I think DH is nesting as he keeps tidying and plumping cushions etc. Not sure when it is going to happen to me, but I have started a bit of a cook fest and so far have about a week's worth of grown up meals frozen in little blocks in my stupid little freezer. I am starting to feel a bit domestic - very worrying!

Hope you are all well...

littleoldme · 14/10/2007 15:22

Right then ladies. How come, despite the fact that my DH is a big wig in IT, that our home computer isn't high enough spec to run the effing napster program that copies stuff to our MP player. Consequently, I have to burn a CD save that to windows media player and transefer it that way Not sure if that made any sense but I've been trying to sort it out for the last hour.

A I've eaten all the buggering white malteesers. On the plus side though - these are the only concerns I have in life at the moment so it seems churlish to complain.

iris66 · 14/10/2007 15:38

aikigypsy - I bet your mum's really enjoyed organising the baby shower for you (is this her first grandchild?) Hope it's everything you wish it to be

Loopy - bummer about the bed (just hope it arrives before the baby! )

Sparkly - How's Callum doing now? It must be a bit worrying for you atm - good job he's strong like his mum eh

MrsJ - wow! good luck (and thank goodness your DH made it home!) Keep us posted, we'll be thinking of you.

FCH - my exDH had all my morning sickness for me so maybe yours is getting ready for your LO too.

It's all getting sooooooo exciting. I'm trying not to obsess about the induction (it's 10 days away FGS - get a grip!) so I've an appointment with a scrubbing brush, my kitchen floor, some loud music and some backside wiggling this evening (and hopefully followed by a very attentive DH!) so please send me some "giving birth" type vibes everyone.

iris66 · 14/10/2007 15:41

forgot to add ....
littleoldme - my ex was in the motor trade yet we always had the sheddiest of cars. I think it's, sadly, quite a common design fault in men

littleoldme · 14/10/2007 16:17

Iris - 10 days eh. Blimey, no wonder you are so giddy.

Thanks for the tip re design faults. I think I might need to upgrade

Seems like ages ago our list was for the first scan at 12 ish weeks

iris66 · 14/10/2007 19:21

Horrod horrid evening! DS's eye swelled up for no apparent reason (he's had a particularly bad day of allergic symptoms and looks like a red eyed panda. The worst thing is we've no idea what's causing them today - it's usually food, as he has loads of intolerances) We eventually had to give him his first ever dose of chemicals (piriton) which made me cry (and I know I sound like a complete hoopy jumper now but I don't care ) My poor baby. I'm so hormotional tonight!!

Loopy - message received and understood (I'd just cleared the kitchen in readiness and now can't be arsed so good timing! ) going to call DD for an uplifting yack then zone out in front of the TV.

hormotional. Such a good word isn't it. I'd love to say I came up with it but have to admit I saw it on a thread ages ago and it really made me

clu · 14/10/2007 19:44

Well everyone sounds so busy.

Has anyone else found the tiredness to be back. I feel it as extreme as I did in the first trimester, only prob is as Im off work sick I dont know if it is do less get even lazier, or the pregnancy???

RGPargy · 14/10/2007 19:48

Evening everyone!

Hope you've all had a good weekend!

Well, we made it back from our Mission to Manchester. Got back about 3.30pm today after leaving around 11am. Phew!! I'm absolutely SHATTERED now tho. I feel like going to bed now! DP drove on the way up there but then had a few too many and woke up with a hangover so i drove home. Only fair really i spose.

DP was also DJing at the gig but was soooo nervous bless him. However, the nerves were all for nothing as he played brilliantly (i knew he would!). Unfortunately i had to wait til last to play as i was on at the very end and i absolutely knackered! But when it was my turn, i made sure i played stuff that got everyone up and jumping around til the end. Thankfully, it was only a 2am finish. I dont know how on earth i used to party til 6am!!

Anna - we stayed in M14 in the Best Western Hotel. Nice hotel, even if the rooms were tiny and they still use blankets (no quilts!!). Still, for £65 for a clean room including breakfast, you cant really grumble! Breakie was lovely too - had a cooked breakfast, plus toast, plus tea, plus orange juice. Yummy!!!

Ooooooh and guess what ladies???!!!! I HAD TWO WISPAS!!!!!!!! i finally found somewhere the sold them - shame i had to go to bloody Manchester to get them tho!!

Loopy - glad you got your bed ordered - sounds absolutely divine!! (or should that be divan? ).

Ugh, so knackered i cant remember everyone else's news, although i have read it all.

I'm with Loopy - it does seem weird that alot of you are talking about babies coming soon but we have 7 weeks to go yet!! Seems like ages to go!!

Right, am off to stuff my face with a lovely roast dinner. See you tomorrow chicks!

RGPargy · 14/10/2007 19:50

Oh and welcome Clu!!

KaylaBmummy · 14/10/2007 20:59

HI all - Just been catching up. and was glad to hear you all talking about BH,twinges, tightenings and backache. I have also been having these all week but only on and off. Glad to hear that it seems normal at around our stage (im 36+3 weeks)and we are all experiencing simular symptoms.
Well to top it all this week I had a fall yesturday morning. Caught my foot between my front door and my step and went crashing down, luckily my son was with me, ended up twisting my ankle and a bruised shoulder, OMG what am I like . Had a check up and baby was fine, but had quite a large show after fall and midwife said I was about 1cm dilated but I have had two kids before, then another show this morning. Anyway Im fine, just hoping for a better week next week, DH home Tuesday.

Pixiefish · 14/10/2007 21:38

Iris- dd has excema and the first place she starts showing is her eyes.

Don't beat yourself up about the PIriton- I give that to dd- I also sometimes have to give her Vallergan (not at the same time) and it does help her plus it helps her sleep. When she's bad she asks me for her medicine as she knows it helps. There's nothing to feel bad about- all you're doing is helping your son
