Kayla - Really please that you are feeling more positive.

Sparkly - Lots of love. Hope he's back home soon.

Given the fashion photos, I've decided to join in too.

RGPargy · 12/10/2007 16:31

Kayla - really pleased you are feeling alot more positive today. I would say go for the induction first, deffo. CS recoveries can be alot slower than normal vag births so it's best to at least try for the induction, eh?

LOM - Oooo hello!! Nice to put a face to the name!

LizzieO · 12/10/2007 17:14

Hi everyone

hope your fridays have been ok, i'm still feeling quite shitty and a bit up and down at the mo' , hormones and stuff i guess, as i 've got nuttin really too feeel blue about

SGK - so sorry that the wee man is back in again, hopefully he will pick up and be out again soon, he's obviously a little fighter, my e-mail is up the spout at the mo so i'm going to e-mail your from DH mail after this post
KayaB - poor old you, what a worrying time you've had, as if being pregnant and having both your body and mental space all kind of blown away isn't enuff, medical probs on top are just too much. My friend was induced, i think at 38 weeks, ans had no probs, so hopefully yours will go smoothly, sometimes these medical bods tend to concentrate on the case and not the person..i think in my experience

Iris66 - up the Saggies

RGPargy - i'm loving the braids,is your hair long then, or do you get etensions put in. I had my hair braided and beaded years ago when i did a bit of travelling, i loved it, but cos my hair is very fine it was starting to snap so had to take braids out before long

Pixiefish - so sorry you've been having a mare with SBP, and hope everything goes ok with induction, i'm sure it will

choc - hope you enjoyed the scan

might not be posting again till Monday (last week at work) so wish you all well
Lxxxxxxxx

aikigypsy · 12/10/2007 17:19

RGP - I agree with everyone who says that your descriptions of yourself are nowhere near as flattering as the pictures.

SGK - Sorry to hear about Callum's return to the hospital. Hopefully he'll be back on track again soon.

Kayla - the induction plan sounds resonable enough, not ideal, but since you need to get the baby out soon for medical reaons, it's probably all right.

One of the women who made discouraging comments about BF had had a very hard time of it herself, inverted nipples, etc., and felt very bad about all the comments people had made to her because of her failure to BF. I don't think I have any physical issues that will be a problem, though.

sarahloumadam · 12/10/2007 17:53

Well hello, was meaning to post earlier but DH got the day off and took me out to lunch then we went to the show-house to measure up for curtains, then got side-tracked with a new shop that had some sweet stuff for the LO's nursery...I love working from home ! Pile of marking still to be done tomorrow now.

Fascinating to see everyone's lovely piccies and I will go and upload some now (patience RG!). Of course I now look different now I have my new "do" with a full fringe (and a huge-mungous bump ). Loving the braids Berry and RG. Nice to put faces to names.

Sparkly - fingers crossed it's a short stay.

Kayla - glad the midwife was helpful and you have a clear choice now. Not sure what I would do but I'm sure whatever you decide will be right for you and your LO. When is the DH home and have you managed to speak to him yet?

Its the weekend!!! All those of us counting the days until mat leave - one week down .

littleoldme · 12/10/2007 18:06

Sarah - stuff the marking . The kids pay no attention anyway I notice from your profile that you live in Yorkshire - anywhere near Leeds by any chance?

sarahloumadam · 12/10/2007 18:09

Live just outside of Hull so not far I guess. I have lost track - have you finished work yet? If so, is it as blissful as I anticipate .

sarahloumadam · 12/10/2007 18:10

P.S. I love your wedding photo - your DH (I presume?!) looks bloody delighted to have married you!

fiona76 · 12/10/2007 18:27

I've jumped on the bandwagon and added some photos on my profile. Happy Friday.

littleoldme · 12/10/2007 18:34

Sarah - Yeah well, I'm quite a catch In actual fact I think one of us had just said something filthy, that's usually why he laughs.

I am on Mat leave now but only because we have a two week half term It means going back a week earlier in the summer but it is worth it.

Hull is not far. Perhaps we should organise a nothern contingent meet up sometime.

Easywriter · 12/10/2007 18:35

Blimey, everyone's at this picture uploading malarky. I may have a go.

Sparkly - Hope Callum's home soon!

littleoldme · 12/10/2007 18:36

Ps Yes it is absolutely blissful...

sarahloumadam · 12/10/2007 18:40

Only one week and 2 days to go though . A northern meet up would be cool.

berrybliss · 12/10/2007 18:48

Easywriter i didn't know you had twins. They look adorable together How old are they now?

Easywriter · 12/10/2007 18:56

Oooh, that must mean I've managed to upload them.

They're going to be 4 on... Nov 11th! That would be my due date for Marnie!

Thanks for the compliments about my girls (easiest way to my heart!)

Evening All, just been browsing through your lovely photo's.

RGPargy - Honest you look great with those braids I would definately have them again, they suit you

Sarahloumadam and Aikigypsy, Thanks I agree with you both, but could end up positive. It a 50/50 one which in a way it would have been better to have been left alone, but never mind will discuss with DH and decide then. DH home on Tuesday.

What im thinking is, give it a go on that Wednesday if slow or painful and nothing happening by Thursday stop and have sleep and rest and go for c-section on Friday, not going to put myself through unnecessary pain and stress, had a bit tooo much of that lately.

Tonysmum - Just wanted to say your experience has made me think it is worth giving it ago, really hoping I could deliver simular to your experience, would be really nice to avoid the recover of c-section, thats the only reason im considering it, to try and make the right decision and best option Thank you again. Also LIZZIEO - Thanks

I had to get fuel for car today. DH always leave it on fumes when he goes back on ship BUT spotted a lovely Angel cake, three colours with cream. LOVELY 2 slices and two cups of tea tonight and feeling much better

Ladies - must say all your photo's are really great . Only just managed to insert smilies so dont really have a hope of loading a photo but will ask my teenage daughter if she could take alook at my profile on weekend.

ChocolateHobnob · 12/10/2007 20:01

Hi all

Been loving the photos! It's great to put faces to names. Easy, those twins are adorable...

Kayla, glad you feel better and it sounds sensible to me. If the gel works, you'll avoid the recovery time of a C-section and with children already it does seem to make sense. And if it fails, you've lost nothing.

Berry, you look so pretty in your braids! And Sarah, and RG.. photogenic lot around here. RG I can't believe you're a 22.

Well, good news here - I had a scan and lo is actually still head down! Hurrah. Also he/she isn't OP - the position isn't brilliant because the head isnt entirely facing where it should be but should by the time I go into labour. The reason the mw was baffled was that the lo has curled itself around at a funny angle and got its bottom in an odd place - probably because I'm short and there isn't much space. They checked fluid levels and so on too and everything was pronounced absolutely normal so that's great.

Relief because I really didn't like idea either of ECV or elective C-section which was what were being proposed if lo was breech. I feel all high again now!

I have another week to go at work - will finish at 38 weeks 2 days. Which is pretty late! I am sure I'll go overdue though so will have plenty of time to relax after next Friday.

Trying to remember what everyone said - I had a crap night's sleep worrying about the scan and it's caught up with me. Glad it's Friday night!

Have a good Friday evening everyone, as much as you can...

ChocolateHobnob · 12/10/2007 20:03

Just seen Fiona and Littleoldme too. This is so much fun!

Oh and Littleoldme, I tried out your game! I got 4 so far. But I will practise.

izyboy · 12/10/2007 20:04

Kayla sounds a reasonable plan to me if a vaginal delivery is what you would prefer.

However having spoken to a few ladies recently about their elective caesareans they have been very pleasantly surprised by the quick recoveries post op.

Good luck.

KaylaBmummy · 12/10/2007 20:22

Izyboy - Yes have heard some really positive stories over the last 2 months about c-sections, thats why I thought I was sorted till yesturday. But will discuss with DH and decided not to be talked into stuff on the day. If not happy and its dragging on then im stopping. Just keep thinking and its niggling at me that it might be worth just trying it Could deliver good but AGREE could be crap .Oh the stress Think im going to have to just take this one as it comes, but thanks Izyboy your right.

izyboy · 12/10/2007 20:29

Kyla, no probs. just try and rest - one things for sure with childbirth there are never any absolute certainties re the process or recovery.

So as long as you feel informed and have a flexible plan and mindset - try not to worry too much.

izyboy · 12/10/2007 20:38

Having said that I'm still crapping myself!!!

KaylaBmummy · 12/10/2007 20:45

ha ha me too.

sparklygothkat · 12/10/2007 20:56

they let us come home, but if he is still jaundice on tuesday we have to go back for tests. I have to wake him for feeds every 3 hours
