Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

I'm buying the new Silver Cross special edition pram, releasing on the 26th May.

It's not a bad price actually, the whole lot comes to just over £1200

We have bought the Ickle Bubba (hate the name 😄) Stomp V3 travel system for £400 and it comes with everything like a car seat and isofix base 😊 They have a newer version which is a bit more but the colour options are good and they have good reviews. Xx

Interesting to hear about pram purchases. This is my third and last so did not want to splash too much on a pram...I would if I planned more ! I got rid of my last pram 4 years ago! Made an impulse buy yesterday Cossata travel system.. the whole package. Half price at 330 so I'm really chuffed.
Thos is my first big purchase for the baby , we have been given a lot if stuff second hand. I feel like this is going to force me out of denial.

I'm also going to need to buy a maternity bra and clothing . Bought nothing so far ! 26 weeks. Where are people buying clothing etc ? I'm wfh so I'm adapting my current wardrobe, and bits from before but could do with some more clothes.

I’ve got twins coming so I’ve got a Mountain Buggy Duet
Not sure how old your first son is but if you need a double this is a great choice!
I had a Mountain Buggy Swift with the carrycot plus for my first and it’s just the best, super easy over all terrain and really compact

It really is 😂 I just hope I don’t have to say it to often or I’ll be sick in my mouth!

I bought a pack of 3 maternity bras off amazon after hearing good things and they’re so comfy and supportive. They also don’t make my boobs look disgusting like all the M&S ones did 😂
Here is the link: AMOURRI Women's Seamless Maternity Nursing Bra Sleep Bralette Free Bra Extenders (Ship from UK), 3pcs (Black), L www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N5YFCN5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_XJsj6OYQsGtCr?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21
It said the delivery would be ages but they came in a few days.

Clothes wise I’m no help. I bought Topshop maternity Jeans which are great but I’ve had very little wear out of them due to lockdown. I’m now 27 weeks so at that funny stage where I don’t know what clothes to get 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’ll be working from home until I go on maternity so I won’t need work clothes. It’s my first so I have no idea what being heavily pregnant is like so don’t know what kind of clothes to invest in - especially with it being summer x

Thanks Fig 20 I'll check that link.
Yeah 26 weeks os a no mans land. I'm trying to see the small mercies in the fact theres no maternity work or wedding clothes required this time round.
I live in Scotland so summer or not itsleggings , cardigans and dresses are my go to. I do like jeggings and maternity t shirts though. I'll have a look today. I feel like the self care is poor at the moment.

Also I've met a midwife once at booking. No phone appts , nothing and two weeks till I have a f2f appt..I feel neglected in that respect too , am also an older mum with a h/o pnd. I think as it's no. 3 they just assume i know my shit and I'll be fine but its these rituals of appts, clothes shopping ...showing off my bump that I miss ! I know that sounds daft .

@realladymarmalade did you not have your midwifery appointment at 22 weeks? I’m also based in Scotland & so far had all my appointments as should be in normal circumstances!

I got a couple of lounge maternity wear from boohoo but other than that it’s leggings & T-shirts! I got a few dresses & t-shirt dresses for when the weathers warmer which did start to happen but we’re now back to rain 🤦🏼‍♀️

Pjs, leggings and big t-shirts all the way for me. What’s the point especially when I’m going straight to mat leave from lockdown. It will save us money which we can use on other important things. But if you fancy a couple of maternity wear to feel good or for photos then why not. x

lola not in Dundee no. I'd have liked a telephone check in ....my mood is ok but I have sertraline poised if needed. Ironically I'm a key worker in MH and service remains consistent....just remote !

I hear you re mat wear. I'm just going to get normal dresses which I can get future use out of. Will cheer me up! Plus I have to look good on zoom etc.

Ooh will check out boo hoo also .

Yeah it was me that suggested a face book group God I hope that doesn't sound too needy Grin. Just worked really well for my last baby when we moved to FB ..6 years ago and it's a great parenting group.
Just super aware of the lack of usual networking and support opportunities at the moment , in real life. I hope this changes in the near future. But happy to just get to know folks here and take a rain check!

How is everyone doing? Very quiet on this thread these days, did everyone go to Facebook instead?

Has anyone started NCT etc yet? Got my first virtual class next week and not quite sure what to expect!

Hi @MaisieMolly I was thinking the same - I’ve been lurking on the September thread too, I find these discussion boards so helpful especially at the moment!
I’m starting NCT next week too - it will be strange doing it online but I am hoping the same level of support will be there xx

Hi!
Hope everyone is well.
I've got my NCT classes next weekend too, not sure how they will go online?! They've also advertised a local NCT post natal group /classes starting September which would be great for meeting other mums nearby but I'm reluctant to sign up if we can't actually meet in person.

I did the positive birth company hypnobirthing course online, was sceptical but it was excellent.

Xx

Hi,

Hope everyone is well? Please let me know how your NOT classes go, mine don't start until July! Is that a bit late for finding out information?
