Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

Hope all u ladies and bumps are keeping well in this mad world at the moment...I can’t believe how many there are of us having baby girls 💞 I’m 22+2 and still waiting to feel her kick and still only feel flutters xx

Feelthefear01 · 31/03/2020 19:27

Had 20 week scan and all is well. Chose not to find out the sex. I had a kick yesterday, was lying in bed and felt prods on my side, dug my hand in and it proded my hand. Guess I was just lucky as it's now gone back to flutters and bubbles.

LoloFuentes · 31/03/2020 19:53

Went for a routine check up today. I was upset because my husband wasn’t allowed into the hospital with me. They also told me he wouldn’t attend any scans. It’s so heartbreaking as it’s his first baby and he’s going to miss out on all this. So we’ve booked a private scan on Saturday and they said he can come in. At least we will find out the second of the baby together. Really heartbreaking this is. I was in tears. I think my hormones just got the better of me.

On a positive note at least he will be allowed in as my birthing partner......if nothing changes in the meantime. Anyway Stay safe ladies. This forum keeps me sane. 😁

LoloFuentes · 31/03/2020 19:54

*we’ll find out the sex of the baby together.

StephD2020 · 31/03/2020 20:10

Hey ladies, so glad to hear all your scans are going well and that everyone's bumps are cooking away nicely!! I'm so glad my little bump is protected inside me - at least if I catch this damn virus it will be me that takes the knock and not the bean!

Oh @LoloFuentes that is exactly how I was. I tried to keep it all together but when she said I couldn't even FaceTime him I broke down. Totally normal love, just shows how much you care which is fab. Great idea on booking the private scan and lovely that you will find out the sex together too - how exciting! 🥰

Well I am 22+2 today and I'm feeling kicks all the time. I've got a high posterior placenta so best placed for feeling movement I think. She's a massive wriggler and is busy all bloody day! Hubby can feel it too, especially in the eves when I'm relaxing. She also loves it when I've just had an orange and a hot chocolate in the evenings - I think the sugar rush makes her whizz around in there. 🤣 is anyone else feeling lots of movement? Funny though, as this has only really been prominent in the last 2 weeks - amazing how much things can change in a fortnight!! X

PanicAtTheDiscLo · 31/03/2020 20:34

Aw @stephD2020
Hardly any movement here, I’m only 21w at the mo though and have low anterior - so I don’t think we are in a good position to feel her.
I’ve got my 20w scan tomorrow at 2:30 and I’m so so frightened.
I just want to know everything will be ok xx

EL1984 · 01/04/2020 14:37

No movement here either and I'm 22+3, I'm sure it'll come soon enough.

My sore pelvic muscles have really taken a turn for the worst these last few days to the point where I can barely put on underwear, socks or trousers without being sat down. Turning over in bed and lots of other movement is pretty painful. Anyone else got this? I'll raise it with the midwife but a quick google looks like it could be Pelvic Girdle PainConfused

StephD2020 · 01/04/2020 15:40

Have you got a pregnancy pillow @EL1984 - might be to do with how you are sleeping if worse first thing? I've got a fab pillow and find that if I get pain, one nights sleep with it seems to 'realign' me?? X

LoloFuentes · 01/04/2020 16:17

@EL1984 I’m only 18+3 but last night I couldn’t sleep with both hips in pain. I’ve had a read and it also mentions hips expanding as belly expanding. I’ll try a pillow like @StephD2020 mentions. x

EL1984 · 01/04/2020 17:52

Thanks @LoloFuentes and @StephD2020, what pillow have you got?
I've got about 5 additional throw pillows on the bed so I'll try arranging them tonight.
I still tend to sleep on my back, which I know I'm not supposed to... I head off to sleep on my side but seem to wake up on my back as that's my favourite position.

LoloFuentes · 01/04/2020 18:00

I have a long sausage pillow. Will have to see what I can do with it. x

StephD2020 · 01/04/2020 18:21

@EL1984 this is my one

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B06XKYCHD1?psc=1&ref=ppxpoppmobbbasin_title

It was £50 but it is amazingly comfy! And the cover zips off to go in the wash after which is fab. Would 100% recommend. X

EL1984 · 01/04/2020 18:39

Thanks @StephD2020! Lol will be like having a third person in the bed!

heroineinahalfshell · 01/04/2020 19:39

I have a smaller pillow, but I absolutely love it! Saw an immediate improvement in the quality of my sleep, and also great for propping up in bed to read, and I also use it buttoned together in a chair to help support my lower back. Would defo recommend, especially for the price!

StephD2020 · 01/04/2020 19:56

@EL1984 absolutely!! My hubby said to his mate exactly that on the phone last night 🤣 but it does ensure I at least get my fair share of the duvet if nothing else 😁

MaisieMolly · 02/04/2020 12:12

Thanks for the pillow recommendations ladies!

When is everyone thinking of finishing work for maternity leave? My work are asking me to tell them what date I want to finish but I don’t know right now! If we are out of lockdown I might want to finish earlier but if not I might as well keep working as I can work from home anyway (office job) and then have the extra time at the end of my leave. But would it be a good idea to aim to work right up to 3-4 days before my due date?!!

EL1984 · 02/04/2020 12:43

@MaisieMolly good question.... My work haven't asked for this yet but I'm sure they will soon. I have told them they need to have arranged replacement/cover for me to start handing over in June as I'm so busy and will want to wind down in July. They're looking at getting two people to cover me, think I need to ask for a pay rise Hmm

My initial thoughts are that I'd probably finish 2 weeks before my due date ... but then if baby is late (and first timers usually are) then it could be quite a lot of time off!

You're right, It also depends on whether we are back in the office, if I'm working from home still then I'd probably just finish a week before due date. Hard to know how your going to feel!

Have you got any annual leave to use? Could start Mat leave a few days before the due date and if you feel you need it, take annual leave days which can surely be decided on closer to the time.

heroineinahalfshell · 02/04/2020 17:44

@maisiemolly, I'm planning to take 2 weeks leave starting on 1st Aug, then mat leave from 17th (my EDD is 15th Aug). But I'm also planning to use leave to have 3 day weeks through July, to ease out of work, and I might just continue that into Aug as then I have more leave to carry over at the end of mat leave. Even if we're out of quarantine by then, I will still be able to wfh, so it seems silly to "waste" leave.

My boss is fantastic, and I'm already starting to hand work over to colleagues so that my workload will gently taper off between now and July.

MaisieMolly · 03/04/2020 10:32

@heroineinahalfshell @EL1984 That’s good that you will both be able to ease out of work. I think mine will be busy right until I finish as my cover will be brought in at the last minute to save money!

I am thinking if we are still working from home I will aim to work right up to the Friday before my due day (5 days before it I think) and then take holiday until baby arrives. If we’re out of lockdown I might finish earlier and enjoy going out and about a bit. I have tonnes of holiday to use!

Have you had your MatB1 form yet? I’m 22 weeks and haven’t had mine yet, not sure when we’re supposed to get it?

heroineinahalfshell · 03/04/2020 17:03

@MaisieMolly if you've got lots of leave, check your maternity policy - I can roll any unused leave pre-mat leave over into the next year to use at the end of my mat leave. I'm going to try and save enough so that I can have a month or so of paid leave during my SMP period, then rtw and use AL to work PT through the summer.

I'm 20 wks but not had my MATB form yet. Thought maybe we get it at the next midwife appt after the scan?

I'm lucky that I work in a Uni, so work is quieter over the summer and my leave year runs Sep - Aug. Couldn't have timed this baby any better!

LoloFuentes · 05/04/2020 10:05

So we went for our private scan yesterday at 19 weeks now. We are having a little princess. Another baby girl on this forum. The scan went well and husband was present as well. The sonographer was brilliant as she talked us through the entire scan. Very reassuring. Now we can freely refer to the bump as she😁 better start shopping for little pink things.

Hope you are having a great morning ladies. xx

Sjacey · 06/04/2020 03:44

I haven’t posted for a while! I’m now 22 weeks and feeling baby kick all day! I found out I was having a girl at 16 week scan we had a beautiful gender reveal! I’m also with Chelsea and Westminster hospital in London. I suffered with really bad morning sickness for about 18/19 weeks and still get it after I’ve eaten can’t wait for it to go completely!. Has anyone thought of any names yet?. I can’t believe how many of us are having girls the Chinese gender predicter was right for me was it right for anyone else?. Hope every1 is doing okay xxz

Sjacey · 06/04/2020 03:47

P.s I emailed my doctors for my MAT B1 form when I was 18 weeks and picked it up from reception within 2 days, I wasn’t even 20 weeks so I’d just request it if I were you xx

OBaby1 · 06/04/2020 09:17

Hi Everyone! I’m 20+4 weeks expecting our first baby, a little boy 💙 I have an anterior placenta, does anyone know when to expect to feel movement? I know it can be harder but I just cannot wait too!

Flutterbunny · 06/04/2020 13:50

Hi ladies
I am 20+1 weeks and a first time mum-to-be. I'm feeling lots of movement now, which is nice and strange in equal measures.

I am naturally a very anxious person but lately have been experiencing really high anxiety levels. Does anyone else suffer with this and have any tips to help? I really want want to try and reduce my stress levels for babies sake but finding it hard to relax....
