Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

Hi all, can I join too please? Due 16th August with my first. Definitely finding it difficult to shop online rather than in person for the key bits!

MaisieMolly · 23/04/2020 14:13

I literally haven’t bought anything yet! When is everything planning on getting everything ready by?
Also I was looking at cheap places for baby grows etc but the newborn siZes are mostly sold out, has anyone found anywhere with stock that will deliver?

Bert2020 · 23/04/2020 15:17

I’ve gotten a few bits from Asda, H&M & Aldi but that was their special buys that was a couple of weekends ago. I have GD so expecting a big baby so have started at 0-3. We have dd’s stuff in the loft that we will get down nearer the time to check how much neutral we have as we didn’t find out with her. My mum has ordered some bits from next but I don’t know sizes. Tu (Sainsbury’s) had stock too. Zara also had options the last few days.

Bert2020 · 23/04/2020 15:19

Sorry should say that is purely for clothes, we have the big ticket items already. I remember when we brought the pram first time there was a 6 week wait so you’ve time but it will soon come around.

MaisieMolly · 23/04/2020 16:07

6 weeks?! Is that standard or mainly if you want a certain brand or colour...?

Bert2020 · 23/04/2020 16:53

That was the pram we ordered, silver cross reflex. We got it from an independent retailer so I would presume varies and some places like John Lewis would be more likely to hold stock. Nursery furniture we got from mothercare and was delivered in about 3 days so does depend. Thing is there are certain things that it is best if at all possible to see in the flesh and try out.

heroineinahalfshell · 23/04/2020 18:49

I've chosen a pram but not ordered it yet. Need to do that! We really wanted to get nursery furniture second hand but I'm worried we won't be able to if lockdown keeps getting extended, and then by the time we buy new it'll take ages to be delivered! A friend is gifting us their old cot though so worst case scenario is we start out with just that in our bedroom & then get the other bits for the nursery later once she's here. Haven't bought any clothes yet.

I went to the hospital today for an echocardiogram (minor murmur that needed checking). I was quite anxious about it but I was the only patient in the cardiology dept, the clinician said they're pretty much only scanning preggos and cancer patients at the moment. Very odd. Anyone else got a litany of appointments over the next 4 weeks? I'm at the hospital once a week from 23-28 weeks, work is going to love me!

Nellie3 · 23/04/2020 21:10

Hi everyone,

I haven't written on here for ages but it's been great to watch from the side lines, I can't believe how far along we are now!

Just wondering (sorry if TMI) if having loose stools multiple times a day is normal in pregnancy/the second trimester? I've also had quite dark wee even though I'm drinking loads. It's probably been about a week now and hasn't passed. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something I should worry about? Xxx

Sjacey · 23/04/2020 22:34

I ordered my cot from baby and child store online it’s the Obaby Stamford space saver crib as I don’t have a lot of room in my bedroom, I got quite a lot of baby clothes before lockdown the only things I still need to get is the bouncer and pram. My morning sickness just started to tail off a couple of weeks ago I suffered quite badly but am now 24 + 3 weeks and have traded in sickness for heartburn Sad x

Sjacey · 23/04/2020 22:36

@Nellie3 I’ve found I’m having to go quite a lot too but I don’t know if it’s my anxiety which also sets me off. I wouldn’t worry about the dark urine could just mean you need to drink abit more water x

Sjacey · 23/04/2020 22:39

@heroineinahalfshell hey, I also have quite a few appointments aswell as a scan every two weeks from 28 weeks as I’m high risk of pre eclampsia after having it with my first born, i had to go to the hospital this week to collect a monitor for my blood pressure to be taken at home and I was quite nervous about going but it’s a catch 22, has to be done unfortunately. Hopefully this will all be over soon so one less thing for us to worry about on top of everything else ! X

EL1984 · 24/04/2020 07:43

@Nellie3 I kind of have the opposite problem where my stools are much harder Confused It sounds like it's quite common and seemed to be linked to the vitamin tablets I was taking which contain iron which can make you constipated. I also found my wee was darker (or very bright!) when taking the vitamins. Am only taking a vitamin once a week now which has relieved both these issues.

Maybe speak to your midwife?
X

Bert2020 · 24/04/2020 09:15

I’ve no appointments now until June but then they crank up a notch.
@Sjacey your crib is really lovely! I got heartburn awfully last time, milk & gaviscon were my friends but got medication from GP around 32 weeks as couldn’t eat a thing without it starting and it brought the sickness back.

Louisaizzy · 24/04/2020 09:18

I’ve had a nightmare ordering a ‘swift carrycot’ from mountain buggy. I’m on my third so have a mountain buggy three wheeler and you can now get a newborn carrycot for it so I thought perfect!
I ordered five items online direct from mountain buggy. A car seat with clips that clip to frame, footmuff, new rubber handle. I literally received 4 out of 5 items so I emailed the mountain buggy support online (as no phone number) and said I hadn't received the whole order and OMG!...I was literally accused of lying!. They sent back a photo of someone else’s front door, legs and parcel as proof it was posted. When I said it wasn’t me they proceeded to give me co-ordinates of where The delivery was sent.
Anyway to cut a long story short and after about 10 plus emails and speaking to the delivery company.. I have finally had an apology from mountain buggy and now the carrycot is out of stock but they are sending ASAP, still hasn’t arrived. Just letting you guys know not to order direct from their site as it’s a nightmare getting to the bottom of it if it goes wrong!. Thought it would be hassle free ordering direct and ensures it’s not a fake! I now don’t even want to use the brand mountain buggy they insulted me so much!.. ok rant over! Hope everyone is doing well! Xxx

OBaby1 · 24/04/2020 21:18

Anybody had any trouble getting hold of mat b form? Am I right that we need to tell employers our maternity leave dates and this by 25 weeks? FTM I don’t have another appointment until 28 weeks and cannot get hold of midwife

LTofBR3 · 24/04/2020 21:35

@OBaby1 I had my 24 week appt by telephone earlier this week and the midwife told me that I'll get my Mat B1 at my 28 week appt as that will go ahead in person (as they don't post them out to you where I am). My employer said there were no issues with not receiving it until then as I was starting to worry Confused

OBaby1 · 24/04/2020 21:40

@LTofBR3 ah perfect, my 25 week appointment just got completely cancelled. i have been getting worried about it! Hoping my work will be the same then. Thank you!

Sjacey · 25/04/2020 14:11

@OBaby1 I got my Mat b1 for at 18 weeks I just emailed my doctors surgery and asked for it and then collected it a few days later. I would contact your doctor as they can issue you one now x

Sjacey · 25/04/2020 14:12

Thank you x @Bert2020 I’m going to have to try something as the heartburn does make me feel abit sick x

firsttimemum79 · 25/04/2020 20:10

Hi I'm joining in very late! I'm due with my first (boy) on 17th August. Absolutely hate shopping online so finding that a nightmare, have paid deposit on my pram but it was a 10 week wait so hoping I like it when it arrives!

Hope everyone is keeping well Smile

OBaby1 · 26/04/2020 10:48

Ah thank you @Sjacey has anyone had any side effects of whooping cough vaccine?

EL1984 · 26/04/2020 11:44

@OBaby1 no side affects for me except a sore arm for a couple of days. Do you think you've got some?

heroineinahalfshell · 26/04/2020 17:09

None for me - my arm was more sore from the flu jab.

OBaby1 · 26/04/2020 18:24

Oh strange, I had it Friday morning by Friday evening felt very fatigued, with a sore throat and was vomiting Saturday morning. Feel a lot better today but can’t think of what else it could of been other than that so was wondering if it was common!

MaisieMolly · 01/05/2020 15:33

How’s everyone doing? Is everyone feeling baby movements yet? My kicks change location almost every day! Today it’s high up right in my ribs, other times it’s right round one side, some times it’s right down in my back / bum. Anyone else having this!? Bub must be really moving positions Grin
