A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

Yes good luck to those with scans!
I’m having trouble sleeping too, like you I can sleep at the beginning and then I’m a night owl from about 1 onwards, so tiring!

zoemelb · 21/10/2019 07:38

@Bumpingalong84: sine pregnant I have been having 1 banana as soon as I wake up, but last night try having another banana before bed as well, and it helps less cramps on the legs. Smile
@sao81: try to drink more water at night too, always wake up feeling metalic taste probably from dehydration.

Purple29 · 21/10/2019 07:51

Yes to the sleeping issues... I am in bed before 10 every night and by 3am I am wide awake, but I still feel so fatigued!! But just cant shut off enough to get back to sleep!! Its driving me crazy. Hoping it stops and I can get a full nights sleep. Cause I seem to get awful headaches as a result.

Sunshine8888 · 21/10/2019 08:22

Can’t say I’ve been having cramps but I do drink a lot of water! Went to bed at 7pm last night and cried myself to sleep. The thumping headaches are a killer and just nothing we can do to relieve them. I think I’m also super anxious for my harmony results this week and also my scan tomorrow. We have told a few people now and I just feel a bit terrified that it’s all going to go wrong and I’ll have to untell them 😢

I’m also in a difficult situation at work. There is a suspected merger/takeover happening but we’ve not been told yet. I feel like if I tell them I’m pregnant this could put me at a disadvantage (I know it shouldn’t but they could ‘find’ a different reason). But I don’t know when we’ll find out what’s going on! If it’s not going to be until next year then I’ll have to tell them anyway as I think I’d have to say legally by 12 Jan. But if we find out this year maybe I could try and hide it until then. Just don’t know what to do.

@sunshine8888 hey hun, sorry you feeling so tense and anxious. it's all understandable. is there anyway you can find things to distract you until you find out? i'm sure it's all going to be ok. your plan to keep it quiet at work is sensible and hopefully things will calm again once the plan is clear. goodluck xxx

facevalue · 21/10/2019 08:41

@May2311 yes my sleep is interrupted and i wake up many times from 3am for many reasons headache, congested runny nose, tummy discomfort, worry, dreams. etc

just like all the others i can't wait for my 12 weeks scan on 1 nov. i'm anxious with work issues and tensions with hubby.

i'm exhausted all the time and don't really feel happy.

sao81 · 21/10/2019 09:36

Having a particularly bad morning, feeling so dizzy the room is spinning when I lay down in bed. Just want this 1st trimester done with now and to start feeling more normal

Sunshine8888 · 21/10/2019 09:41

I never thought it would be worse post 12 weeks! 😭

sazzlerazzle · 21/10/2019 10:08

12 weeks today! Why did I not wake up looking like a gorgeous super glowy babe?? 😂😂

Helensss · 21/10/2019 10:17

Does anyone know how to set up a new group? This one is nearly full xx

fluffyunicorns86 · 21/10/2019 11:15

Scan today and super nervous about it 2:20 cant come soon enough I am 11+6 today so 12 weeks tomorrow. Hope everyone with scans today/next week go well

kstann · 21/10/2019 11:20

Good morning ladies! Just driving home having been for my 12 week scan!

Everything looked perfect and everyone at the hospital were so lovely and she was really thorough!
We have a little wriggler who then kept posing nicely and giving us a wave 🥰

For anyone feeling anxious, my symptoms had basically stopped in the past week - just goes to show to try not read too much into the lack of symptoms 😊

Good luck to others who I know have got scans today too xxxxx

woollycat · 21/10/2019 11:21

@fluffyunicorns86 are you doing the Down's screening as part of your scan? I'll be curious to know if they say it's too early for that or not - I have heard conflicting information where some say 12w is the earliest they can do it. Keeping fingers crossed for you and everyone with scans this week - you have made it!

sao81 · 21/10/2019 11:28

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3723236-Due-May-2020-thread-3?watched=1 for when this one runs out in the next few posts!

fluffyunicorns86 · 21/10/2019 12:21

@woollycat I wasnt going to but yes I am going to have it done with my history. I will let you know what they say to having it done. Thank you will update when I can afterwards

mrsf1204 · 21/10/2019 12:26

Aww @kstann that's wonderful news!!! Congratulations 💞

flossy12 · 21/10/2019 12:35

Random post but need some advice, my friend has booked for me and all the girls to go to scare fest in Wakefield, I'm not a vey 'scare easy' person, but it says that pregnant women shouldn't go, I'm only going to be 11+3 so it shouldn't be too bad surely? I'm guessing it is relating to heavily pregnant women?

Anyone got any advice? Don't want to be a kill joy 😩

PrincessConsuela12 · 21/10/2019 12:43

A bit of a strange question but is anyone else more aware of their heart beating? It's not uncomfortable but when I'm thinking about it I can feel it more 🤔

Purple29 · 21/10/2019 13:33

@princessconsula12 yes, I have noticed that. Thought it was just me!! Mostly if I'm walking or doing light exercise tho

sazzlerazzle · 21/10/2019 16:04

@flossy12 I would check with the venue if you can. I’ve been to a scare-fest kind of thing before which was quite physical - being chased through small tunnels (literally crawling through) and that kind of thing so perhaps that’s the reason they say it’s not suitable?

Lifesforlivingandloving · 21/10/2019 16:47

Scan went well . 12+2 so due 2nd May x so happy x scan was very thorough and saw the baby lots x

Good luck all with scans this week x

Helensss · 21/10/2019 17:22

@Lifesforlivingandloving oh lovely! Congratulations, was this a first scan?

Lifesforlivingandloving · 21/10/2019 17:39

@Helensss
I had an early scan at 6 weeks due to spotting but saw only a little blob baby with a heartbeat
This was so surreal seeing an actual baby 🥰 x

kstann · 21/10/2019 17:51

@mrsf1204 thank you! ♥️

@Lifesforlivingandloving congratulation, it's so lovely isn't it 🥰 I'm due 5th x
