A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

@KerryM1983 mine is 24th too! Xx

helpasisterout · 17/10/2019 18:28

I am 8w5d now and while still suffering nausea with the odd actual vomit I am just so weak and tired it's pathetic! Can't even bring myself to do a load of washing!

Raindancer411 · 17/10/2019 18:30

@helpasisterout I am the same. Even standing up I feel close to being ick. Got an appointment to see doc next week to see if they can prescribe anti sickness tablets. I cannot even go in a car

woollycat · 17/10/2019 18:35

@helpasisterout @Raindancer411
I am there with you! 8+4 today, nausea continues badly on most days, some days I throw up multiple times, on others I don't but feel so weak! I am lucky to have been signed off work, but I can't imagine going on like this for much longer! When is week 12 coming?!

Raindancer411 · 17/10/2019 18:37

I am feeling worse this pregnancy than my first. I had it all the way through until nearly the end of the pregnancy first time Confused

mrsf1204 · 17/10/2019 18:40

12 week scan is the 6th Nov. Bag of nerves and excitement all at once. I just want to get to that point and know it's all ok. My anxiety is really high today :(

kstann · 17/10/2019 18:45

@KerryM1983 Mine is Monday at 9am 😬
Sorry to hear you're still feeling poop. I am 11 + 11+2 today. The last 3 days my symptoms have literally disappeared- ive got a huge appetite and even went to yoga this morning. (The first time since 6wk)!
Feel like I can relax knowing scan is so close!🤞🏼 xx

kstann · 17/10/2019 18:45

@KerryM1983 *cant relax 🤦🏼‍♀️

KerryM1983 · 17/10/2019 18:50

That's great @Helensss I'll be thinking of you.

@kstann I've got symptom and exercise envy!! So happy your feeling good though as I don't wish feeling like this on anyone. I can't believe it's our 12 week scans next week x

kstann · 17/10/2019 19:17

@KerryM1983 I know exactly how you feel 😫 I honestly thought it was never going to end.
I know- first trimester seems to have dragged in some ways but also - can't believe the scan is Monday 😂 I've got a busy weekend planned so I'm sure it'll go quick!x

Know one really tells you brutally honestly how hard this first trimester can be!x

helpasisterout · 17/10/2019 19:54

@Raindancer411 @woollycat strangely reassuring to know it's not just me experiencing this! I keep saying to my partner that it's a case of one and done if this is how it goes for the first 12 weeks!! 🤣

Sunshine8888 · 17/10/2019 20:26

I don’t think the anxiety ever stops, I’ve made it to 12 weeks and moved on to worrying about the screening and blood test results now. My mum has just (kindly) told me off about my constant worrying 😬

sao81 · 17/10/2019 20:42

Hi, currently 8+2 had my booking app this week, got my scan through and I'll be 13+3, is anyone elses scan seem really late? I'm sure with my first I was 11+6 but then dated 12+2

Moussemum · 17/10/2019 21:17

I haven’t received my booking in appointment yet.im 11 weeks 1day by my last period and 11 weeks 6 days by an early scan (had brown spotting).its getting quite late for my first proper scan.

sao81 · 17/10/2019 21:26

@moussemum I'd ring up and chase it, did you go through the GP or directly through hospital? Might be worth ringing the hospital you plan to deliver at

Anyone else feeling crap about what they are and aren't able to do? My partner is such a hard worker and I just phoned him at 9.50 to see when he would be home and he simply just asked if there was anything he could heat up quickly and eat for his dinner and it just reminded me that I have a pile of dishes no handy, nothing ready to eat and the house looks like a shit hole. Now sitting howling crying feeling useless.. please tell me it gets better for a while at least 😔

mrsf1204 · 17/10/2019 22:07

@helpasisterout oh my god I hear you! I feel exactly the same! I've been stressing out that the house is such a tip as I'm usually so on it, but I'm just too tired to do it! I have been managing to put slow cooker meals on in the morning when I have more energy which is definitely helping as come the evening I cannot be assed and would happily just snack on something small until bed!

sao81 · 17/10/2019 22:17

@jeffsar4 what are the harmony tests? Seen a few mention them

@helpasisterout I've been exactly the same on anti sickness tablets but they make me drowsy and dizzy so been dropping my little girl off at nursery and sleeping it off 😥 2nd trimester gets better xx

sazzlerazzle · 17/10/2019 22:34

@Moussemum I’m surprised they haven’t booked you in sooner but I would definitely call whoever you originally spoke to (midwife team or GP?) to chase it up.

Purple29 · 17/10/2019 22:34

@helpasisterout yes I absolutely feel like that, I normally love doing my house work.... put the tunes on and sort the house but it takes me to even do the dishes just now, have zero energy!! Hoping it passes soon.

facevalue · 18/10/2019 05:54

@jeffsar4 are you sure your age alone is what they said would be your problem ? i thought its a little more complex than that because it's the combination of age, blood result, nuchal scan, if u have diabetes, race etc. how old are you if you don't mind me asking? i hope your results will reassure you x😘

@sao81 @helpasisterout @Purple29 i hear ya all! i can't even be bothered to feed myself. i left the TV remote on the opposite sofa and sat without the Tv on because i was too lazy to get it until my husband passed it on later 🙀😰

@Helensss on a positive note my husband had a heart to heart with me yesterday saying he's keen to improve things and work on it 😍 so slightly happier

facevalue · 18/10/2019 06:00

@woollycat @Raindancer411 have you tried ginger in your tea or ginger chocolate/ biscuit i found it helps the nausea a lot.

@KerryM1983 goodluck next week. i definitely have interrupted sleep and most days i'm awake anytime from 3-6am then i can't sleep after and feel shattered all day and grumpy.

anyone having their hair highlighted/ coloured ? i delayed it but i'm feeling scruffy and fancy having it done😬 just to boost my spirit

Helensss · 18/10/2019 06:32

@facevalue that’s good to hear, I think talking is so important. My husband And I have been together 8 years, had a really rocky year a couple of years ago, so much we nearly separated for a bit. He never used to talk about his feelings (trying to be all manly or whatever ha) but he has learnt to and that saved us I think. Glad to hear you’re feeling happier ☺️ No marriage is easy! Xx
