A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

Scan went really well, measuring 8+5 which is bang on dates. Was so emotional seeing the little heart beating away. Hope everyone else’s either today or the next few days go ok xx

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 19/10/2019 12:09

Measuring perfect and healthy at 8+1 😭 I'm so relieved! Makes it feel much more real now. Just need to stick the photo on the toilet for when I'm being sick a million times a day for motivation 😂

@Lifesforlivingandloving good luck for monday. Mines not till the afternoon so gonna be so nervous till the time.

@Emmacb82 @BeautyAndTheBump1 glad your scans went well today :)

Lady7978 · 19/10/2019 12:56

@facevalue HUGS I hope you were able to get some rest and you're feeling a bit better now.

@Emmacb82 @BeautyAndTheBump1 yayy to your scans going so well. Something to keep you going for now.

Emmacb82 · 19/10/2019 20:46

Well after feeling so happy and relieved after my scan, I’ve now started having pinky/slight red spotting. Just sitting here in tears wondering if it’s all over.

sao81 · 19/10/2019 21:00

@emmacb82 did you have a transvaginal scan? When I had mine I did have some pink discharge afterwards. Either way ring the hospital for advice they may just ask you to pop.in and check you over. I've had bleeding in both pregnancies and its been due to irritation on my cervix which is harmless to baby. Hope you're ok xx

Emmacb82 · 19/10/2019 21:50

No it was abdominal, I wouldn’t be so worried had it been vaginal as I know that can happen. It’s not much, just every time I wipe. Just going to sit and see what happens overnight, there’s not much anyone can do if the worst is going to happen, just got to keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for your reply xx

@Emmacb82 how is everything this morning?

Lu1u · 20/10/2019 07:13

hi everyone, didn't realise this thread existed! I was watching another but it was very quiet 🙈

So lovely to see scan pictures, due to circumstances out of my control I won't have mine till I'm 13 + 3, feels like ages away! I'm 11+2 at the moment so due date 8th May.

This is baby number two for me, DS1 is 13 months. Is there anyone else here who is expecting their 2nd/3rd and will have a small age gap? Would love to hear how you are getting on.

Emmacb82 · 20/10/2019 07:15

@firsttimer1980 I haven’t had any more spotting this morning so hoping that maybe it was just a random day. Feel like I’m going to start my period again though so not completely back to normal. I hate the first trimester!! Thank you for asking xx

november90 · 20/10/2019 07:24

@Emmacb82 oh I bet that was so stressful for you ❤️ I'm pleased to hear it has cleared up today though, hopefully just one of those things!
Are you still gonna get checked out? It could be nothing of it might be a vaginal infection like BV so I would def give the doctor a ring... you might even get to see that little baby again ❤️

Raindancer411 · 20/10/2019 07:42

What a night :( Hardly slept as had period like ache all night. Not bad but enough to keep me awake. Anyone else finding this?

mrsf1204 · 20/10/2019 07:55

Welcome @Lu1u this post definite isn't quiet and moves fast :) I'm sure I saw a few people say they had little ones already, this is my first myself.

@Raindancer411 not up with period pains but up a lot with needing a wee! I seem to be about average in the day (I go a lot anyway, it's a long standing joke in my family) but at night I'm certainly up more than usual. At least 5 times! Makes me v tired the next day.

Emmacb82 · 20/10/2019 08:00

I’m just going to see how it goes for now, I’m wondering if they pressed too hard for the scan because it seems very strange timing! So kind of puts me off having another one at the moment. I haven’t got any other symptoms although I did have a few period type cramps overnight @Raindancer411 but then had a big poo this morning (sorry tmi Grin) and has settled now. The other thing I wondered is wether this is all timed around when my next period would have been due?

Raindancer411 · 20/10/2019 08:03

@Emmacb82 That is where I am at the moment and hoping it will help GrinBlush

sao81 · 20/10/2019 08:17

@emmacb82 i did post a reply last night but it didn't submit. Glad to hear its stopped for you today. I've had a few things cause the bleeding so cervical erosion, then most recently when i had the spotting and cramps it was actually a UTI as well as my cervix, all back to normal now. If it comes back I'd say get checked just to make sure you don't have any infection. However if you're booking app is this week they will check urine anyway 😊. I find abdominal scans do hurt your stomach when you're early on, I remember saying to my partner at my previous 12 week scan how much it hurt when pressing down 😥

firsttimer1980 · 20/10/2019 08:18

@Emmacb82 glad to hear things might be settling down! Ah a good old poo! Generally makes everything feel a bit better! Ha!

Just realised The Baby Show is on at Kensington Olympia this weekend, which is just round the corner from me. I know I'm only 12 weeks but the next Baby Show isn't until March in London. Is it worth going to??? Or does anyone know of any other shows that are good in London....

sazzlerazzle · 20/10/2019 08:44

Morning ladies. Hope everyone is well. @Emmacb82 glad the spotting has stopped!

Is anyone else finding it impossible to find a comfortable sleeping position? I usually sleep on my side anyway so no change there but it’s really hurting my hips 😩

Clairesoph · 20/10/2019 08:54

@Raindancer411 im getting the period cramps too! Not sure whether to get checked out or not, second baby but not something Ive ever experience before. Its also like the pain of trapped wind like if I even move the wrong way I get a sharp cramp sensation low down in my tummy 😩

firsttimer1980 · 20/10/2019 08:59

@sazzlerazzle If I go to the baby show today I'm going to look for a pregnancy pillow! So excited about that

Helensss · 20/10/2019 09:07

I have cramps on and off too, my friend also had heavy cramps she described as worse than period pains and she’s 16 weeks now and all looking good 😊 x

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 20/10/2019 09:07

@Emmacb82 definitely sounds like it was related to the scan - glad its stopped!

@sazzlerazzle my hips and back are killing me too! I normally sleep on my stomach and side and it's really taking a toll on my back not sleeping on my stomach! When is it acceptable to buy a pregnancy pillow 😂

Raindancer411 · 20/10/2019 09:13

@Clairesoph Yes this would be my second and I feel so much worse with a lot more aches this time around. Glad I am not the only one getting them (although better if none of us had it in the first place lol)

sazzlerazzle · 20/10/2019 09:21

@firsttimer1980 @BeautyAndTheBump1 I was wondering if a pregnancy pillow would help? I always thought they were for when bump gets big! Anyone got one of these already?

I might just buy one and see if it helps, I’m going to buy one eventually anyway...

firsttimer1980 · 20/10/2019 09:43

@sazzlerazzle Well I'm using a normal cushion now so a pregnancy pillow can't hurt... will let you know what I find tonight
