@ Lu1u I have a DD but she’s nearly 4 so a bigger age gap. I’m so nervous and excited hoping all is well so we can tell her in a few weeks.

Ladies, I am with you on the back/hip ache. It’s awful and wakes me at night a lot along with frequent wee’s. I used a pregnancy pillow in my first pregnancy, it was amazing the dream genii. I lent it to a friend and will ask for it back after my next scan next week if all is well. Feel like I don’t want to jinx it 🙈 I also have given my sister in law all my maternity clothes but said I didn’t want anything back till I knew things were looking good. #paranoid

mrsf1204 · 20/10/2019 10:42

I've already got a pregnancy pillow! I wanted even before I was pregnant as I remember my mum giving me a similar thing when I was little and it made sleep so comfortable (historically I've always struggled with sleep). I saw one on offer a couple of weeks back and it has proven to be the best thing I've ever bought, even if this pregnancy sadly didn't work out I'd still use it all the time just because it's so good.

SnowyMama · 20/10/2019 10:52

Hey, I’m new to this forum but I’m due 18th May 2020 and am 10 weeks today (I think) and I’ve got my dating scan on 5th November. My symptoms have been really quite mild to be honest and my tummy looks no different and I can’t feel anything ‘firm’ in my lower belly like I think I should? This is my first baby and the symptoms just haven’t been what I imagined so I am in the camp of anxiety that something isn’t right Confused

Joining in and mentioning my situation in case anyone else is in the same boat! X

GinUnicorn · 20/10/2019 11:29

@Snowymama I am jealous of your lack of sickness as I’ve been feeling awful. Don’t be anxious though it’s different for everyone.

Might be an old wives tale but apparently no sickness means boy and feeling awful means girl.

Bumpingalong84 · 20/10/2019 12:25

@SnowyMama welcome to the group. Don’t worry about the lack of bump/firm lower belly. With my first o didn’t get this till nearer 14 week. Had a teeny bump by 16weeks so it’s still early days. I’m pregnant with number two and had awful nausea with her. I’ve had some queasy moments this pregnancy but it’s nothing like my first.

I’ve had friends who have had no symptoms at all who have had boys and girls, my best friend had worse vomiting and nausea with her boy than her daughter so I just think every pregnancy can just be so so different so try to to panic too much. I am a week behind you, currently 9wks today as per early scan, should be 9+6. I have my 12wk scan on the 12th November. Good luck

Purple29 · 20/10/2019 13:40

@snowymama I'm currently 9+3 and I said the same, i had some slight nausea around 5-7 weeks but very little since, ither than sore boobs and tiredness, some others reassured me on this chat that they were exactly the same!! I know my friend had no symptoms at all with all 3 of hers and she has 3 healthy kids now.

It's just the longest wait to the scan to know everything is ok, roll on a week on monday for my early one!!

sazzlerazzle · 20/10/2019 14:35

@SnowyMama welcome to the group! Rest assured you are not alone, lots of us have had mild symptoms whilst others, unfortunately, have really struggled.

I was really worried about lack of symptoms too so paid for a private scan at 9 weeks which showed a healthy baby with strong heartbeat, so don’t worry :)

PrincessConsuela12 · 20/10/2019 16:35

Happy Sunday Ladies 😊

Does anyone know of any good baby name apps?

Lifesforlivingandloving · 20/10/2019 16:37

@PrincessConsuela12
Kinder lol
You and your partner both get it and then it matches your phones up so it notifies you of ones you have both liked x
We've downloaded it but not used it properly yet as wanna wait till after the scan x

PrincessConsuela12 · 20/10/2019 16:46

@Lifesforlivingandloving This is the one I'd heard about!! Thank you, I'll download it now 😊

Shelbustotherescue · 20/10/2019 17:22

I went to one of Mothercares baby parenting events this morning, well worth doing if you've got one local to you - lots of information and discounts, they had people doing talks on car seats, sleeping, first aid etc really worth while.

We also ordered our pram today, had too with such a good discount on top of an offer, feels so real now !

zoemelb · 20/10/2019 18:27

@facevalue I had horrible heartburn as well all day, it was terrible last week, today is a lot better. I found that if I eat salty food - especially dinner, I would feel awful during the night and terrible heartburn the next morning. Need to drink more water myself, but the heartburn makes me feel like I don't want to drink.
@Bumpingalong84 @mrsf1204 I'm using dream genii as well to train myself sleeping on the left, I am back sleeper naturally. But since pregnant, sleeping in my back gives horrible night sweat. Plus easier to get off the bed if I am already on my left. The dream genii definitely helps, I was away last week and didn't have the pillow, it was so hard to sleep without it. I still have legs cramp when I wake up though. Not sure if anything can help?

Sunshine8888 · 20/10/2019 18:42

Catching up on the last two days! I was away this weekend, lots of travelling and also out late, I feel absolutely awful!! I feel more sick at the 12-13 week mark than any other - it’s horrible!! Also we went out for dinner last night and I felt so unwell after, had the most painful cramps in my stomach but no bleeding...I’m wondering if it was indigestion? I am so ready for the second trimester and feeling more human 🤢

Lifesforlivingandloving · 20/10/2019 18:52

@Sunshine8888

You poor thing , the nausea is awful . Especially when your out in public and trying to put on a brave face
Mine went from 10+5 ish and I thought I was over it
Then the past two days it's come back with a vengeance and I keep feeling sick and getting the sweats . I'm 12+2 today
12 week scan tomorrow which I'm nervous but excited about which prob is adding to my knots in my stomach ! X

november90 · 20/10/2019 19:03

My scan is a week on Tuesday and it feels so far away!!!! Just feeling irritated, tired and "off" 😩 anyone else the same?
My nausea went away for a week or so at week 8 but returned and had a few rubbish days last week and this evening! Mines normally joined with a thumping headache which is just fab, haha!

Obviously still feeling so lucky and full of gratitude to be pregnant! Can't wait to see my baby again and the secret to be out 💗

mrsf1204 · 20/10/2019 19:09

@zoemelb oh my god I have the leg cramps too. The only way I can describe it is like growing pains round my knees?! Is that how yours feels? Nausea has eased off this weekend, don't know if it's because I'm resting and now at work? Just to reassure a few people my midwife told me the symptoms easing off worry is not a worry. She said it's totally normal for them to come and go quickly or to come back and that loosing doesn't mean anything is untoward. Xxx

zoemelb · 20/10/2019 19:26

@mrsf1204: yes, pains around the knees, and a bit nump as well. as soon as I wake up, I need to turn my body and stretch for few minutes (it also happens if I sleep on my back plus the sweating, so it's isn't the position I think) When I stretch, I feel like I'm stretching the thighs and a bit of the ligament and a bit shaking as well. :-( I heard that eating too much salt doesn't help with legs cramp, so cutting off lots of salt. My sister's foot were very swollen, and sore legs in later of her pregnancy, so could also be genetic. I didn't expect to have legs cramp already this early - I'm 11+2 today. :-(

zoemelb · 20/10/2019 19:29

and a bit shaking as well as if I have spasm when I try to stretch the legs when I woke up.

mrsf1204 · 20/10/2019 19:33

@zoemelb that's EXACTLY what I'm getting! I need to cut back on salt then as I have always had lots of it :/

Bumpingalong84 · 20/10/2019 20:39

@zoemelb might be worth trying a banana or some dark chocolate, I think potassium is meant to help with cramps.

sao81 · 20/10/2019 21:14

@zoemelb i had this alot in my first pregnancy, itd wake me up.of a night I'd feel like my leg had snapped until it wore off 😓 lots and lots of water helps I found

Helensss · 20/10/2019 21:52

Good luck to all scans this week! 💕

Swatishar · 21/10/2019 06:23

Hey all! I am new to the community. This is also my first pregnancy so i am pretty much clueless about stuff.

The fatigue is scary. It's like my body refuses to support me. Plus I have severe GERD which makes it so much worse. So it's nausea when I don't eat and acid when I do.Sad

With all of this, I am having to take such frequent off days from work. My work is really suffering and I am afraid to come across as incompetent. It just guilts me so much that I am unable to pull myself together and just grind through this. Any help?

May2311 · 21/10/2019 06:44

Good luck everyone with scans this week. Mines on Wednesday and cant come quick enough!

Anyone struggling with sleeping? I’m absolutely exhausted but come 1-2am I am wide awake for the rest of the night!! Just hoping it’s just because I’m anxious for the scan and after Wednesday it gets better. Xxx
