A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

@facevalue Yes, when I had my 8-week scan they told me to use up what I had left then stop. I was so happy as I felt rubbish constantly and was really fed up like yourself but it did make me anxious as I thought you had to continue to week 12. I was doing 3 a day. I was also doing patches but stopped them too.

The midwife booked it for me yesterday at my first appointment. It's the 24th October so I'll be 12 + 3.

Have you had a midwife appointment yet?

KerryM1983 · 03/10/2019 10:44

So happy for you @Shelbustotherescue

Lovely to hear from you @Shak19 I've been wondering how your doing.

Lifesforlivingandloving · 03/10/2019 10:48

@facevalue
It wasn't that painful to be fair - I was lucky and only had it on my arm . It was a bit sore and itchy
But I felt like I had terrible flu with it
I'm 9+6 now but this could change at dating scan
How far along are you ? X

Lifesforlivingandloving · 03/10/2019 10:48

@Shelbustotherescue
Lovely pic x lovely to be able to keep them and see the growth journey 😃 x

ChampooPapi · 03/10/2019 10:49

@Lifesforlivingandloving can we just pause and worship you?! You had shingles and still talking and walking like a boss, like 'hey it's fine, I'm all good now'.

Shingles is bloody awful, you poor woman that is just the pits, honestly kudos on working and your stoicism is amazing. It must have been so horrible, I can't even imagine. The worst is behind you but you did remarkably with work and first baby nerves too, you are a ⭐

Definitely get that flue jab booked if you haven't already, that's too all ladies here as well, most places in the UK you need to self refer so ring up your go surgery today

@KerryM1983 so great to hear from you again, I had at the back of my mind you had ivf so will be thinking of you over the next few week up until that scan, that worry is very understandable. All that hope tied up in the pregnancy, all that time and anticipation, I'm sure you've been through so much to get here.

Bring on that 2nd trimester 🙏

ChampooPapi · 03/10/2019 10:55

👋 @NiffleTime , just cancel everything and try and rest as much as you can, it will go away and be a dream one day but right now the tellivision is your friend

When is your 12 week scan?
Have you had any early scans? X

ChampooPapi · 03/10/2019 11:00

@Shelbustotherescue congratulations and thank goodness. You can just start to live and look forward to everything now, these pictures are just so amazing, it just seems incredible, they grow from stardust to this, absolutely fantastic news 🌈

@Lifesforlivingandloving should be around the same time as you, no scans needed yet, just a common or garden pregnancy this time thankfully. I'm like just over 9 and a half weeks now but in Devon it seems they whooping cough you at the 20 week scan.

Didn't so it at all in Bristol, different everywhere but they were veeerry understaffed at southmead

ChampooPapi · 03/10/2019 11:04

But to anyone having their baby at southmead they were really amazing and supportive during labour

Oooh didn’t know about flu jab. Do I have to ask for it? Why do you need one in pregnancy? Sorry it’s my first so I’ve no idea what I’m doing 😂

Shak19 · 03/10/2019 11:15

@ChampooPapi @KerryM1983
I keep forgetting to check these forums lol I'm only 9 weeks tomorrow time is just massively dragging.
Off work today and tomorrow cause I'm just so warn out. I've never been so lazy as I have in th3de past few weeks but I just dont have the energy. I'm hoping i get some energy back agywr the 12 week mark so i can start trying to make myself as healthy as poss.

Lifesforlivingandloving · 03/10/2019 11:19

@ChampooPapi

It's funny how different trusts do things differently x

Glad to hear you've had a smooth sailing pregnancy x

At the booking appointment the midwife was trying to talk me into a home birth but on reflection I don't want that - I would rather be nearer to doctors etc I case I were to need them . I like the idea of a birthing pool though
Are you having a hospital birth? X

Lifesforlivingandloving · 03/10/2019 11:22

@CharlieB93
It's available from September to January I believe but they recommend we get it done sooner rather than later. You just have to contact your GP to book it
I'm going to book mine for after my 12 week scan x

Mystie · 03/10/2019 11:32

I just called the doctor on the off chance they have my results and they do. I didn't speak to the doctor but the receptionist told me that my doctor had looked at them and said they were normal, no further action needed. Does anyone know whether that's good or bad news? I'm assuming if HCG levels were dropping that would be abnormal considering I'm pregnant? Aghhh really want to feel relieved but until I speak to the doctor tomorrow I just don't know! Has anyone else been in my position? X

JBFletcherstypewriter · 03/10/2019 11:49

@Mystie that’s so annoying, I’m sorry but I don’t think receptionists should be able to do that, still leaves you in limbo Sad...

My trip to the doctors was a complete waste of time, I told him I was 6 weeks pregnant “and how do you know that?” he asked me... eh because I’ve taken 7 pregnancy tests in the last 2 weeks??? Wouldn’t send me to epu as it’s too early and I just have to wait and do another pregnancy test in 2 or 3 days to see if still positive, then started asking if I’m resis negative or something? I had no idea what he was talking about, something about my blood type mixing with other blood since I had my little girl? I should have had an antibodies injection or something after I gave birth last time?

Anyway after all that I was sent away with just wait and see, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.. does anyone happen to know if the epu in Heartlands Birmingham is walk in or do you need a referral?? Just in case it’s still like this in a few days..

Glad to see such positive scans and results coming back for others, it’s such a special time xx

Wishful30 · 03/10/2019 11:54

@Mystie how annoying!!
Can you call back and ask for the numbers? At least then you know if they've increased!

I had an appointment a short while ago as in a lot of pain in all my joints for ages. Had bloods for RA and inflammation. Rang fir results and was told all normal, no further action..... well, I'm still in pain so clear results doesn't solve my problem duh!!! Managed to get a referral as GP was rubbish!

mrsf1204 · 03/10/2019 12:00

Nausea has suddenly hit me like a ton of bricks today. I've had tiny waves over the last week but today is the first morning I've really felt it. Couldn't get comfy all night, was up and down all night, woke up so uncomfortable with pains in my knees and feeling rough. Had a ginger biscuit seems to have helped. Currently on holiday in Cornwall coming home tomorrow early for another scan in the hope of seeing a heartbeat. I'm so so nervous and feel like something is wrong. My husband however is being so positive as always. He's so cup half full. I'm just always a worrier and so negative and my anxiety doesn't help... grateful for the support on here.

Moongirl10 · 03/10/2019 12:09

I had my scan on Saturday and they saw yolk sac etc but no fetal pole. She said it was too early but said I was about 6 weeks. Saw my GP on Tuesday who was going to refer me for another ultrasound for ten days time but then when she found out I’ve already had my intake appointment with a midwife she said my midwife has to refer me for ultrasound instead. I’m British but moved to Canada and I guess they do things different here. So frustrating because I don’t see my midwife again for another 3 weeks so I feel like I’m in limbo. Just hope it’s normal not to see fetal pole that early.

Mystie · 03/10/2019 12:14

@Wishful30 Called back and that was result for first blood test only 😞 so still in the dark but I guess there is still hope as she was happy with first blood test level. Just have to sit tight until the morning now!
