A shiny new thread for our May mum's.

A big thank you to @Shak19 for setting up the original thread, you started this group and we are all so grateful for that.

Here we go, month three in the pregnancy journey 👣

@Wishful30 I'd definitely get back in touch about those readings - did they tell you what the first reading was ? And is she suggesting normal for a pregnant person or normal for a non pregnant person ?! I have everything crossed for you !

Mystie · 03/10/2019 17:58

@Wishful30 was it the doctor you spoke to or a receptionist? I definitely would wait until you speak to the doctor in the morning and they have the second blood test results. I'm in exactly the same boat as you lovely and it's horrible but at least this time tomorrow we will know. Sending heaps of love and hugs x

Wishful30 · 03/10/2019 18:15

Gotta wait to get the second bloods back. But 6.9 is really low for over 5weeks.
Considering non pregnant hormone is 5. 😞
At least now I'm expecting bad news in the morning, so if it's good it'll be a nice surprise 🤞🏻

@Lifesforlivingandloving with my first two I wanted a midwife unit but both times they were too understaffed to take me, one was in Newton Abbott the other unit is near St George in Bristol, called Cossham maternity unit (fabulous place).

So ended up in the hospitals both times. Rooting for the unit again, but may be a home birth as last labour I nearly had her in the car, born about thirty minutes after we arrived at southmead. Was like one of those movies where the man is taking the corners too fast and pointing out night city foxes....and the woman is screaming and clinging on to everything and anything in the seat next to him.

Fast labour's are just too intense. Plus side was no time for pain relief, despite woman's frantic demands for pethadine!

Reckon if we leave at first twinge we will make the unit but if they are busy it'll be the kitchen floor. Meh, it'll be fine, at least there will be bed and telly close by for recovery

@Lifesforlivingandloving oh I find birthing pools to weird for me, but other swear by them. I tried one first time round in the hospital but after a minute in I just got out as felt being wet made me feel vunerable.

I am very feeble though. My sister in law is a week over due and is filling her pool at home as we speak. I can definitely see the good side of home births, hospital born infection gives me a wobble, the home environment is best in that sense.

But being close to actual medical care is so important too. The midwife centers seem a happy medium (if they are fully staffed and you don't have a baby at 5am) Smile

Sorry if this is tmi but Is anyone else constipated and worried that straining too hard is going to cause a miscarriage? I'm dreading going to the loo atm probably a completely irrational worry but hey ho that's pregnancy!!

Hollyjeanh · 03/10/2019 18:59

@Wishful30 aww babe I have everything crossed for you! Let us know straight away tomorrow!

@Mystie yeah I’m the same and then when I do have a BM I bleed a little after which I think is because of straining so I went to pharmacy and they said to have lactulose so I’m going to try that this weekend while I’m not at work ha just incase I go the opposite way!!

My scan is at 11.15 tomorrow to see if there is a heartbeat. I’ll be 7+1 so I have everything crossed. Started with pink blood again tonight though Sad

Mystie · 03/10/2019 19:03

@Hollyjeanh sending huge love and luck for tomorrow, let us know how you get on xx

rosewater20 · 03/10/2019 19:13

My HCG results have come back and between Monday and Wednesday (morning) they have gone up 59%. Is that good? My doctor said he wants to restest this weekend to see if they have gone up again.

sazzlerazzle · 03/10/2019 19:13

Ooh so many messages to catch up on!! So I bit the bullet and booked for a private scan and was able to get an appointment last night. I haven’t had any worrying symptoms but it’s my first and I’ve been a concerned in general about how things are progressing.

Anyway, apparently baby looks fine and has a strong heartbeat. She dated me at 9+6 but according to my LMP I was 9+3.... is it normal that they say your future along than you think? She did say not to take this as gospel and wait for dating scan.

Was just a relief to know baby is definitely in there and doing ok - like lots of people on here my morning sickness has been fairly mild and some days non existent so have faith!!

@sazzlerazzle ahhhh beautiful pictures, so pleased all is well! Xx

Wishful30 · 03/10/2019 19:20

Ahh congratulations @sazzlerazzle what a lovely picture xx

sazzlerazzle · 03/10/2019 19:22

Thanks @Mystie. Hoping she was wrong with the date otherwise it puts me in the April due date category and I’ll need a new group! 😂

Got everything crossed for you tomorrow, hope you’ll let us know how you get on.

sazzlerazzle · 03/10/2019 19:29

Thanks @Wishful30 just seen your most recent posts. It sounds like your doctors surgery isn’t being very helpful or compassionate, sometimes I think they deal with so much tough stuff on a daily basis that they forget how to be human about it.

Step away from Doctor Google though, the internet is both a blessing and a curse sometimes! Can definitely make you worry more. Got everything crossed for you and everyone else waiting for news x

Wishful30 · 03/10/2019 19:48

Home from work, time for decaf tea and chocolate digestives 😌

JBFletcherstypewriter · 03/10/2019 19:54

My sister was first pregnant 16 years ago... when I asked her during my first pregnancy how on Earth she dealt with the anxiety for the first 12 weeks she told me that since the internet wasn’t available everywhere at the time you couldn’t really look anything up so she wasn’t checking if everything she was feeling was “normal” or not, ignorance is bliss she said.

I really try to remember that when I’m questioning every little thing but I think that because my first pregnancy went absolutely fine up until the last few days, no bleeding, nothing untoward, that’s why I freaked out so much yesterday when I discovered I was bleeding ...

@Mystie @Wishful30 and @Hollyjeanh wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow, I really hope it’s positive news for you all xxx

Sunshine8888 · 03/10/2019 19:55

Congrats @sazzlerazzle! What was the baby measuring at? Yes can be put forward or back... but then baby can catch up/slow down with LMP I think!

rosewater20 · 03/10/2019 20:02

I am starting to worry that a 59% increase in HCG in two days isn't high enough. My doctor seems unconcerned but I wish it had gone up more. At six weeks does it take longer for HCG to go up?

Mystie · 03/10/2019 20:13

@JBFletcherstypewriter agree sometimes too much information can be so overwhelming

Thank you for the positive thoughts, don't think I'll be sleeping much tonight! 🤞🏼(most used emoji for weeks!)

Wishful30 · 03/10/2019 20:17

@rosewater20 apparently as long as it doubles in 2-3 days it's good. And yours has more than doubled in just 2 days. 🤞🏻all is good for you!!

Wishful30 · 03/10/2019 20:22

Over here in cloud wishful land... more like, Someone slap me land 😂😂
I dug put my clear blue digital test.

The chart says if it shows 3+ weeks then the doctor will likely date your test at 5+ weeks...
which would be correct.
I completely agree that less is more with info sometimes!! I shouldn't have asked the result. I personally still think it's low, but... clear blue doesn't agree.
What do I know 🤷🏻‍♀️😂
But I have instilled a tiny bit of hope back in me. Pray for a miracle! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

If only I could have a few drinks and pass out 🙄

@Wishful30 Thank you! I am an anxious mess, and so I appreciate the positive feedback.

november90 · 03/10/2019 20:27

@Wishful30 I just want it to be tomorrow for you so that you can find out what's going on! I have absolutely everything crossed for you and @Mystie . You've been in my thoughts a lot 💗

So this week my symptoms are so mild... I'm barely feeling anything other then feeling tired and ratty! I'm 8 weeks now and I'm thinking it's probably too early to feel normal 😬 I've seen a few others in this boat and remember it from my first! Deep down I know that every woman will deal with pregnancy differently and have different signs.... but is it wrong to wish to feel ill 🤦🏼‍♀️
