Woke up last night to DP cuddling up to me with a hand on my ‘bump’. Should I tell him it’s mostly bloat at this stage 😂😂 although in fairness it’s my second and we’re in the tenth week tomorrow so uterus is now getting melon sized. I presume the Internet means galia or honeydew not watermelon by that.

Megan2018 · 25/01/2019 12:58

@Karigan195
Aww that's lovely! My DH still traumatised - keeps looking at me then shaking his head Grin
He's finding it a bit hard to take in still, being very protective, has taken over the cat litter tray as a duty and keeps fussing about what I am eating. So her does care - he's just terrified I think.

Still no sickness/nausea but did wake up today feeling hungover - very thirsty with a muggy/heavy head. But that has now gone. Do also feel more tired than I should as I have slept well. So perhaps these are also symptoms (or they could be in my head).

Karigan195 · 25/01/2019 13:05

Mines terrified too. Had a total wobble about ‘what ifs’ last week but I think that’s just the panic about a massive life change coming through. Stupid things like but what if we break up. He doesn’t want to, has no intention to but his parents are divorced and it effected him badly so he’s panicking he might be like his dad.

Karigan195 · 25/01/2019 13:08

And thirsty is definitely a sympton.

Florencenotflo · 25/01/2019 13:11

So, had my scan. One heartbeat, baby measuring 9 weeks, so that does just tip me into August. Hope it's ok if I stay here though! Feeling slightly more relieved now I've seen something. Still a bit of brown blood on wiping but I know there could be any number of reasons for that, so I'm trying to stay calm!

Megan2018 · 25/01/2019 13:13

@Karigan195
Similar - DH is pretty much no contact with his divorced parents, and 2 much younger siblings. He had a lovely childhood until aged about 11 then it all went to shit and he was literally abandoned at 15 and has had to fend for himself emotionally and financially since. His parents are educated upper middle class and not short of cash either. They are awful, feckless bastards and I feel so much anger for how they have behaved.

My parents are also divorced but we all get on brilliantly - we were a much poorer family but with a lot more love. Not perfect by any means but much more family centred.

DH is the kindest person I have ever met though - I know he will be a great dad. He has none of the natural selfishness of his parents, he might have to learn the practical stuff but I know he has the right heart for it if that makes sense. He isn't his father. But he is so worried that he will be!

Karigan195 · 25/01/2019 13:13

I think I’m in August too Florence and nobody’s complained yet...

Karigan195 · 25/01/2019 13:14

It makes total sense Megan. I could say similar about mine.

Megan2018 · 25/01/2019 13:16

@Florencenotflo
Congrats on the positive scan! And yes of course - we aren't precious about dates.

ProfessorCustard · 25/01/2019 13:36

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the flu jab?
@fortheloveofscience I booked my first appointment with the GP a few days ago and also booked in with the nurse for the flu jab. The GP recommended not getting the jab. She phoned the nurse to confirm and then reiterated that she didn't think it was a good idea. I'm 5+5 and her reason was that the first trimestre is such a delicate one that it was better to take the risk than get the jab. I guess she was referring to having a bad reaction to it.

ProfessorCustard · 25/01/2019 13:37

I should say that I'm not high risk so that wasn't an issue.

Megan2018 · 25/01/2019 13:45

@ProfessorCustard

How odd - that is literally the complete opposite of what I was told on Monday!
I was given this assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/451735/9407_PHE_Pregnancy_Flu_DL_leaflet_06b_web.pdf

Megan2018 · 25/01/2019 13:45

Well a version of that leaflet anyway - mine has a different picture on and also talks about whooping cough!

PastaSauceHoarder · 25/01/2019 14:01

Amazing, congratulations for the positive scan @Florencenotflo! Smile I can't wait to get to 9 weeks and have mine, I'm so anxious I can hardly stand it.

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow - time seems to be going sooo slowly and yet so quickly too (if that makes ANY sense?!)

TwittleBee · 25/01/2019 14:07

Males sense to me PastaSauceHoarder I feel like that too

ProfessorCustard · 25/01/2019 14:08

@Megan2018
Yes, it was odd because the posters I saw at the surgery also recommended it for pregnant women so I was most surprised.

I should say that I live in European country (where the healthcare is excellent) so maybe they have different protocols here and decide more on a case by case basis? I'm worried now though as I always seem to get everything going! I also have private health insurance so I might give them a call to double check. Confused

Megan2018 · 25/01/2019 15:08

@PastaSauceHoarder
Same! 7 weeks Sunday. Seems like 2 mins ago I found out yet 12 weeks seems an eternity away!

Snowrose92 · 25/01/2019 15:29

Ladies,

Been TTC 18months, been in Clomid for 5 months, was told on Christmas Eve I didn't ovulate. As I don't get periods took norethisterone to start the next AF. I waited and waited, no AF retook a test and get my first ever BFP!!!! Due 12th September 2019... 7weeks+1 and saw the midwife for the first time yesterday. I'm so excited. Our first baby :) xxx

Karigan195 · 25/01/2019 15:32

Congratulations snow. :)

PastaSauceHoarder · 25/01/2019 15:34

Thats lovely @Snowrose92, congratulations! Smile

Definitely @Megan2018! How far along were you when you got your BFP? I was 4+1 weeks, seems like only a few days ago and yet it was almost three weeks ago now!

TwittleBee · 25/01/2019 15:35

Oh so lovely Snowrose92 ! Congratulations and good luck xx

@PastaSauceHoarder
I tested on CD29, I am usually very regular so tested the day I was late, so exactly 4 weeks by LMP.

CookieBlue · 25/01/2019 15:49

Hi all! Hope everyone is well. Had my appointments through today. Booking appointment is on 21st Feb (when I’ll be 9 weeks) and scan on 19th March. Both dates seem soooo far away but it’s definitely made it seem more real Grin.

Snowrose92 · 25/01/2019 15:53

How are any of you coping waiting for a dating scan... mines booked for the 25th of Feb, and that feels like forever away x

waiting4arainbow · 25/01/2019 16:06

Just leaving my mark! Keep going to the old thread to find the link to the new one lol

How is everyone's nausea? I've been signed of work for a week as I can't seem to keep anything down. Got some more antisickness tablets and iron tablets too... my booking appointment isn't until 13th Feb and I'll be 11 weeks by then 🙈
