KnobJockey I think a few people have had early scans due to history of MC and/or bleeding this pregnancy or have gone private. Mine has been due to history of MC & Bleeding. Hope the booking in app goes swiftly for you.

No early scans for me knobjockey, you are not alone!

Megan2018 · 12/02/2019 12:11

@KnobJockey
Yes I feel like time going so slowly too!
No early scan on NHS for most I think, they are just further along. Mine is only early as its private chromosomal screening at 10wks and costing £400. NHS set for 12+1 so pretty standard and bloody ages away!!

Karigan195 · 12/02/2019 12:13

Private chromosome screening here too.

April88 · 12/02/2019 12:20

Mine were both private that I paid for due to a previous MC. NHS one is a week on Thursday

boodles101 · 12/02/2019 12:30

No early scan for me either. I was tempted on booking a private one but have decided to just wait it out.
I very nearly put on my maternity jeans today (8+5 but could be 9weeks) as I'm just having a lazy day at home with DS.
My work uniform is a very tight pencil skirt currently in a size 6. It's the kind that clings to you all over. I can still do it up but after I've eaten my lunch I have a very noticeable bump and have to do my blazer up to hide it! I have to wear uniform and can't order maternity wear until I tell bosses, so I'm kinda stuck what to do within the next 3 weeks!

KnobJockey · 12/02/2019 12:44

Im very sorry to hear of all the previous MCs, and I hope I didn't come across too flippant- I was genuinely curious as there seems to be a lot of them going on and I thought it wasn't common at all, I wondered if maybe some trusts were different.

Megan and Karigan, I need to have a think about this NIPT, does it have to be about 10 weeks you have it?

Karigan195 · 12/02/2019 12:50

This shows the screening dates

@knobjockey I have my first 12 week scan next week. Eeeek. Seeing the scan pics in here makes it all so real! There is actually a Baby in there lol. X

stroan · 12/02/2019 13:29

I had an early scan privately as I bled at 5 weeks but my scan today should have been my 12 week scan. Dates are just out because I have crazy long cycles.

At this stage some of us are 4 weeks ahead of others and that feels like a huge gap!

excitednerves · 12/02/2019 13:36

Oh congratulations @stroan! Happy little bouncy baby! And great you get to see them again in 2 weeks too!

I also had an early scan at EPU due to bleeding at 6 weeks. Today is my normal NHS 12 week scan. I am 11+6 today by the date of my last period, but like stroan, I’m expecting to be told I’m not quite that far along yet.

So many emotions today! Worried in case of bad news but hoping everything is OK and will be very relieved to see my little baby.

The waiting has been so hard. I’m anxious at the best of times but this has been torture!

Whisky2014 · 12/02/2019 14:22

Have all the 12 week scan a been external? I've come to mine with an empty bladder because when i went for my early scan they told me internal scans are the gold standard and mote clear. So I've been given a jug of water to drink!

stroan · 12/02/2019 14:29

Yeah, always external.

I didn’t have a full bladder this morning (can’t really drink much at all) and it didn’t make a difference.

Whisky2014 · 12/02/2019 14:43

Oh ok I have now drunk a jug of water and still don't feel like I need a wee :s hope it's ok

excitednerves · 12/02/2019 16:15

@whisky - hope everything has gone ok and you’ve managed to have your scan now.

@stroan I’m the same as you, 10+6 and back in 9 days for a follow up! So far baby looks good!

Whisky2014 · 12/02/2019 18:07

All good! She said if i do have a bicornuate uterus then it's very difficult to see and no detriment to baby who is growing as should be and definitely not septate. So that's a relief! Baby jumped a couple of times then became quite still. Sonographer was tapping my tummy To get baby to move but it wasn't playing ball. Anyway was great to see and it's exciting to see a real baby shape forming now. She dated me 11+6 so due 28th aug!

Ah brilliant news @Whisky2014. Hopefully you can relax now, knowing everything is as it should be! X

Whisky2014 · 12/02/2019 18:26

Yes I feel loads better! Phew! Weight off my mind :)xx

Easterbuns1 · 12/02/2019 18:32

@Whisky2014 great news! The difference between wee blobs early on and then proper baby shape at 12 weeks is such a big one!

@TwittleBee do you want to do the honours of starting new thread again as we are near the limit?

stroan · 12/02/2019 18:36

Yay @excitednerves and @whisky2014 lovely news!

What a weird coincidence that we were both too early for scans and exactly the same days! I knew mine was early but the midwife had no way to adjust the EDD based on cycles. Looking forward to seeing a big difference in 2 weeks.

Because I’ve been so ill, most people close to me knew already and today was almost an anti climax. But DD told everyone at nursery today and loads of the staff camemto day congratulations at pick up. It was lovely 😊

GemmaJen · 12/02/2019 19:19

Lovely picture @Whisky2014, you must be so pleased 😊

BBell2 · 12/02/2019 20:21

@strewn, @whisky...babies!!!! Congratulations on lovely scans.

@knob jockey I don't have a scan date, booking in next week. If I had carried on bleeding as I did ~7wks I would have paid for a private scan and still will if I can't get seen by 13wks on the NHS as my husband is then away a month.

Sineadc23 · 12/02/2019 21:34

Hi everyone, congratulations to you all! :) I found out I’m expecting jan 4th. This is currently my 2nd pregnancy after having a miscarriage September 2018, so I’m feeling very anxious! :( I went for my 1st scan at what I thought would be 7w since my LMP the doctors measured me at 5 weeks, said I could of just ovulated late? Everything looked good for that stage though! Went back 2 weeks later and they measured me at 7 weeks so the sac and yolk sac have grown but still no heartbeat or baby? Has anyone else had this before? Or could this be the start of my 2nd miscarriage :(

Karigan195 · 12/02/2019 21:45

So I went all the way back (2hr round trip) to have the blood redrawn which was annoying but they did a free scan whilst we were there to apologise. Can’t believe how much baby has grown in just a week. No wonder my poor muscles ache!

Also sonographer said baby looks fine and he’s be surprised if there was a problem which is positive :)

Congrats on the other scans today. Fingers crossed for those to come!
