Good luck everyone having scans today! Mine isn’t until late afternoon.

Hoping this will make me start to relax and enjoy the next few months, and maybe some of the worry will go away.

I can’t wait to start telling people too!

Megan2018 · 12/02/2019 07:43

Good luck everyone!
So jealous, this waiting is awful. I have NIPT scan a week tomorrow, then NHS 12 days later. So we are ages away from telling people but I hope once we get past first scan it will seem real.

KLane · 12/02/2019 07:58

Has anyone bitten the bullet and pulled on some maternity jeans yet? I'm only 9+3 but my normal jeans make me feel sick after a few hours. Pretty sure I wasn't in maternity jeans until about 15 weeks with DS! Once I put them on I'll remember how glorious they are and I'll be questioning why I didn't put them on week 6.

Easterbuns1 · 12/02/2019 08:03

@KLane I've had mine on just over a week (I'm about 10 weeks now), I couldn't do up any of my jeans and although I'd hoped to manage to 12 weeks I didn't really have much choice! Much, much comfier now.

excitednerves · 12/02/2019 08:04

@Megan2018 the waiting is the WORST! I have had to set mini goals and tell myself - get to Monday, then it’s 8 days, you have lunch on Friday, then it’s 4 days... I have been on the countdown for about 4 weeks! Ha ha! It does eventually come around though.

I just hate not being able to tell anyone why I’m so tired and useless. I’ve been “fighting off a bug” since January. Lol.

KLane · 12/02/2019 08:27

@Easterbuns1 This makes me feel better! I hate the hair band "trick" and never had much luck with those belly bands. Think I'll have to head up to the loft and pull them out today 😬

TwittleBee · 12/02/2019 08:55

Yeah KLane I am at 8+5 and my skinny high waist jeans are just a bit too uncomfy now and I find the elastic band trick doesnt seem to work well with the high waisters! Luckily my work trousers are all a size too big for me as I lost weight last year from when I fell ill so least I am comfy at work. But yeah I didnt wear mat clothes until at least 16 weeks with DS!

excitednerves that is what I do too! Have to have things planned and look forward too, helps make the waiting a bit more manageable.

Been so so so so so so sick this morning, so sick that I missed the chance to make an app with the DRs (if you dont ring dead on 8am then you wont get an app for the day)

I was so tired and sick last night I fell asleep at 8 and woke up once during the night then got up at 7. That's the best sleep I've probably had in years and I still feel terrible this morning

stroan · 12/02/2019 09:32

As expected, slightly too early for the nuchal measurement so I’m back for another scan in 2 weeks. Measuring as 10+6, EDD is 4th september but that can change. One bouncy little baby, exactly like its big sister!

Feels so weird to see an actual baby on the screen. I’ve felt so terrible that I haven’t really let myself think about it as a baby.

Aaaaaahhh stroan that's brilliant!!!

TwittleBee · 12/02/2019 10:49

oh lovely stroan ! And another lovely scan in 2 weeks time too! Hope you are able to start feeling like it is a baby now!

Tefiti2 · 12/02/2019 10:54

Oh @stroan how lovely ❤️

Megan2018 · 12/02/2019 10:59

Ahh well done @stroan
Great stuff!

I’m paranoid my dates will be too early for NIPY scan. Is anyone any good at calculating this stuff?
LMP was 9 Dec, cycle usually 26-28 days.
Had sex on 16 Dec and 27 Dec. Strong BFP 6 Jan on CD29.
What’s the odds of me not being 9+2?

Megan2018 · 12/02/2019 11:00

*NIPT

TwittleBee · 12/02/2019 11:08

Megan good chance you are closer to where I am at 8+5 (had 2 scans now which match the dates). I had sex on Xmas Day and had good BFP on 8th Jan. But then I guess there really is only 4 days between us and our beans can grow a bit different I think too.

OP posts:
Megan2018 · 12/02/2019 11:43

Thanks @TwittleBee
NIPT is booked for 10+3 so if I am measuring 10 then it’ll be ok. Will be gutted if I have to go back though! More waiting.

I have literally no idea if the sex on 16th or 27th is more likely to have worked-literally both ends of the possible fertile window I guess?!

Karigan195 · 12/02/2019 11:46

NIPT place just phoned and there weren’t enough of the baby’s chromosomes in my blood sample so I have to go back so they can take more blood and wait again. This is torture!

Megan2018 · 12/02/2019 11:49

@Karigan195
Noooo!!!! Oh gosh, I really feel for you. So much stress. When will you be able to go back?

TwittleBee · 12/02/2019 11:50

Just looked back on my dates, I ovulated on the 27th Dec so if you are further ahead of me you would have ovulated before so would have been the 16th I guess? But then who know if you was having an unusual short/long cycle too!

OP posts:
TwittleBee · 12/02/2019 11:50

oh karigan ! what a bloomin stress and hassle for you! How long you have to wait now?

OP posts:
Karigan195 · 12/02/2019 11:53

They’ve said they are open until 8 tonight so DP is going to take me soon as he gets home (car being serviced).

Karigan195 · 12/02/2019 11:54

It could be another 7 days. We’re waiting these results before we tell anyone and I don’t know how much longer I can hide it. It’s pretty obvious to DP and I already!

TwittleBee · 12/02/2019 11:56

oh so annoying! Could they maybe take like more blood this time to make sure there is enough overall? Not sure how it works! Possible to avoid people in that week? probably not with work I guess...

KnobJockey · 12/02/2019 12:01

It seems to be moving so fast for some of you, whereas mine feels like so long! I've got my booking in appointment in an hour, where we book the scan. How come everyone has early scans? Am I the only one who hasn't had one? I'm going to ask while I'm there, DPs brother had twins in October and my symptoms are stronger than they were with DD (although a long time ago), what's the chances of getting scanned early do we think?

KnobJockey · 12/02/2019 12:02

Oh, how annoying Karigan! I hope they can sort it for you quickly.
