Yes first trimester sucks. It’s when you feel most physically ill and worry the most.

We’re a pretty sporty family. Go up mountains every chance, 10k runs etc but been a bit slack since Christmas.

LaBelleSausage · 10/02/2019 13:50

@stroan I hate the damn seasickness bands. Make me feel like my wrists are going to drop off (maybe I had them too tight but can’t see how they work if they aren’t)

I am on three ginger tea at the moment, but I’m not convinced that’s doing anything. And I’m so cold. I’m very glad I have you lot to moan at!

Hope you’re feeling better soon, even if you’re not quite 100% for a while

stroan · 10/02/2019 14:01

@karigan195 I’m really struggling with the lack of activity. I ran every day in December and did exercise classes nearly every day. Going from that to practically nothing is definitely affecting me mentally.

Karigan195 · 10/02/2019 14:07

Yeah I couldn’t take it any more. Been at the gym a bit and insisted we got out today. No exercise makes me feel cooped up.

Megan2018 · 10/02/2019 14:10

Well done @Karigan195
I have been so idle today-wimped out of riding, as was torrential rain here. So just stable jobs then feed merchants and home.
Just doing piles of laundry and watching TV.
Not very active!

Whisky2014 · 10/02/2019 14:37

I've been out for a 2 mile walk. Headache subsided for now thank God. Found a wee bothy selling local foods so came away with a bag full haha. Got some nice rhubarb and ginger cordial..it's delicious!

IVEgottheDECAF · 10/02/2019 16:07

My back is in agony Sad

Really struggling to do things but tomorrow is monday so work and school and all the stuff needs to be done

Nightdream · 10/02/2019 16:31

Can I join? Due september 21st with second child. I joined mumsnet when I was pregnant with DS but never bothered to join a thread like this so I thought I'd give it a go

Parent19876 · 10/02/2019 20:27

Okay, tmi but i am totally stuck....
Up until recently, I've had pretty regular bowel movements, but since hitting nine weeks it's been impossible! I've upped my fruit intake, drank loads of water, fizzy drinks, ate prunes, and yoghurt- and still no movement in three days! Lots of gas and pain :(
Any advice??

KLane · 10/02/2019 20:32

@Parent19876 What about a high fibre cereal like bran flakes or shredded wheat? When my toddler is having trouble, I give him rehydration sachets and it does the trick every time!

TwittleBee · 10/02/2019 21:25

Think I might actually have to get some sickness tablets or something. Today's been awful, feel like I've barely been able to eat. How do I go about getting them?

Welcome Nightdream and congratulations!

@twittlebee first step is the GP. In some areas, the midwife can prescribe I think, but not here.

There’s probably about 10 different things to try, and no real way to match the right medication to you, so it might take a bit of trial and error.

Megan2018 · 11/02/2019 07:20

Anyone else feeling breathless?
Have read that it is normal in some people, I just feel really breathy/wheezy just doing basics. Also very snuffly.

I had a hideous cold wk5-7, that went and this isn’t a cold. Now 9+1. I feel fine in myself but sound like I’ve walked up a big flight of stairs all the time!

TwittleBee · 11/02/2019 07:24

Thank you stroan I'll make an appointment for tomorrow.

Megan yeah DH has been ripping into me for how breathless I get now.

pinkpig381 · 11/02/2019 13:02

@Megan2018 I've been getting quite breathless too! I always used to moan at DH for being a mouth breather (it just bugs me) but now I'm one! I'm all blocked up most of the time and feel like I need to take bigger breaths

Karigan195 · 11/02/2019 13:27

Had a blocked nose for the last 4 weeks, dry mouth and shortness of breath. It’s horrible. Did a 7 hr hike up a mountain in December before that BFP and now the stairs make me heavy breath. Ridiculous!!!

TwittleBee · 11/02/2019 13:29

that must have been freeeeezing (assuming the mountain was in the cold and not somewhere warm!) Karigan

Whisky2014 · 11/02/2019 13:43

I'm on day 3 of headache :(

Megan2018 · 11/02/2019 13:49

@Whisky2014
That’s horrible, sorry.
Have you tried the 4head stuff? I swear by that plus paracetamol. Not 100% effective but helps.

I really miss Anadin Extra! They are my go to headache remedy along with full fat coke. Pregnancy downsides Sad

Karigan195 · 11/02/2019 13:50

Actually I was too warm. That and the massive boobs were my tip off I ought to take a test as I wasn’t really paying any attention to when AF was due.

I think I was just under a week late when I tested and hadn’t realised. Slightly worried about it as wasn’t taking folic acid etc but we do have a fairly healthy diet so hopefully baby will be fine. And I did start them as soon as I realised.

Megan2018 · 11/02/2019 13:52

@Karigan195
I didn’t take it either, started at 4+1. GP wasn’t worried.
I do eat a lot if broccoli generally so hope that means not too lacking!

TwittleBee · 11/02/2019 13:54

ouch Whisky really hope it passes soon, they are horrid!

Karigan I wouldnt worry too much then if you eat healthy (I didnt take any Folic until I was around 7 weeks with DS as he was a total surprise and I didnt know about Folic Acid until I saw a MW!)

Haven't got most of my blood tests back yet, but I got a letter through with a card to carry because I'm rhesus negative. Oh great, more needles! No idea what husband's blood type is.

excitednerves · 11/02/2019 16:01

Anybody getting a horrible taste after eating - literally after everything I eat. I’m living on polo mints at the minute!

Easterbuns1 · 11/02/2019 16:04

@excitednerves yep I have that, brushing my teeth several times a day because I feel like my breath must be rank with it!
