the bit calling me a witch, not about DD

oh I'm not making sense anymore. time for school

hollyandalice · 16/05/2007 11:30

I've got some sort of black bulgey vein on my leg! It's gross! Derlor told me to raise my legs to drain it and it worked before, so I'm doing it again!

hollyandalice · 16/05/2007 11:31

Sorry foxy, you are not a witch!!

foxybrown · 16/05/2007 11:31

Not wanting to be a competitive mum holly, but i have one the same in my fanjo.

kittykitt · 16/05/2007 11:32

Likel, hope the bath manages to sort you out.

I am feeling a lot of pain around the bum area this morning. Pain taking my breath away. Feels like i need to poo, but have already done that. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

foxybrown · 16/05/2007 11:32

Is it pain or pressure?

hollyandalice · 16/05/2007 11:33

Maybe you should do a headstand to drain it foxy!!

kittykitt · 16/05/2007 11:34

Feels like both, foxy. It's a fine line, but possibly more pressure.

hollyandalice · 16/05/2007 11:36

You might need to poo again! I've been pooing for England lately! If you are worried phone the labour ward, I've always found the mws at mine to be really helpful and full of advice.

kittykitt · 16/05/2007 11:38

Thanks, holly. Will try another poo. Builders are here and no lock on bathroom door - must get that sorted this week.
Will sing loudly in meantime

notsolilKel · 16/05/2007 11:40

Veins sound painful, sorry

hollyandalice · 16/05/2007 11:43

My farking boiler was doing that this morning lilkel. I have to turn the water pressure up and down all the time otherwise it spits out just cold. I ran a bath and got in and when I went to rinse my hair the boiler had fucked up and I had to do it with just cold ! It shouldn't be allowed, bloody things! Foxy's has gone completely and she needs to buy a new one!

hollyandalice · 16/05/2007 11:44

It's not very painful annobal, just minging! I can't look at it it makes me feel sick! How are you feeling?

annobal · 16/05/2007 11:49

Feeling much better thanks Holly - just tired (but that's pg for you isn't it). Have someone coming to look after the LOs this afternoon for a few hours...

Hope the bath sorts you out Lilkel (when it finally heats up!). It'll be worth the wait

DaisysGotABigBump · 16/05/2007 11:58

Good morning ladies.....

Just been to the hospital, and if nothing has happened spontaneously before....I'm booked in for an elective on 05/06/07 (what a great DoB that will be!!)

Had a really good chat with the consultant who was really very nice (the same one as I saw when I was in the other week) but she said bub is deeply engaged and she would be surprised if I held on to the 5th.....it's weird though, having a definate date makes it all seem that little bit more scary and real.

The car journey was a bloody nightmare though...not so bad going over bumps, but if the car rocked from side to side it was farking agony...must be due to bubs head being engaged as this is definately a new thing since the weekend.

RedFraggle....Hi again, I remember your name from some of the earlier threads, its a pity I wasn't about last night for a chat as I'm in the same position as you (I was awake, just not on-line)....I got to 9.5cm dilated, told I could push but then DS got stuck and I developed a knotty rim of tissue and after nearly 5 hours and oxytocin to speed up my contractions as well as a failed epidural and finally a spinal block....he was born by emergency c-section. I was a wreck afterwards as I'd been in active labour for over 12 hours and had been awake for more than 48 hours (I was induced at teatime Thursday and he was born lunchtime Saturday). I've ummed and aahed over whether to opt for the elective or not all the way through, but after the chat today decided that booking it would be the best option, knowing that if I go into labour before then I can choose to see how it goes or go for a section, or if I change my mind at any time I can cancel it right up to the point of getting me ready for theatre. Lilkel has opted for an elective as well, so she may have some words of wisdom for you...

DaisysGotABigBump · 16/05/2007 12:00

Holly....support tights/stockings might help....although I'd check first incase they're not recommended any more for varicose veins.

The first bit of my Mothercare delivery has arrived.....got the car seat, just waiting for the pram and cot which are coming later today.....it's all a bit exciting!

DaisysGotABigBump · 16/05/2007 12:01

The 5th is less then 3 weeks away......yikes!!
3 weeks today I will definately have my baby....double yikes!!!!

notsolilKel · 16/05/2007 12:10

when the going gets tough, and a baby might arrive, the tough go shopping...

just bought this: ridiculous name but excellent bag

as I realised that with the 2nd seat in my P&T buggy, my old bag would be dropping too low and hitting the lower kid in the head

still got the pain -

daisy what news!!

Kittykit, I get a lot of pressure in my bum. I go and sit on the loo with my feet on a step, seems to help. Ok, Ok, TMI.

Have recently got piles again too, I think its the pressure and baby seems to get heself into a position which makes it worse.

Lilkel, what a bugger about your boiler! Have had a plumber out today telling me its all floorboards up job. Won't be using him then! Touch wood, mine's improving and am hoping the hydro-flow is working (its meant to break down the limescale which has clogged it up)and I haven't had to relight it for two days. Of course saying that it's going to completely go now, isn't it?

Daisybump, OMG YOU ARE HAVING A BABY! Why is it that we have months to get used to it, but when its finally going to happen we go into shitting-ourselves shock?! I think you've made the right decision for you, and got all bases covered so you can move on and look forward to the baby, rather than dreading the birth. Am so glad you've had a successful outcome.

Right, lo's to feed (and a big one, of course!)

foxybrown · 16/05/2007 12:23

Lilkel, are any other positions helping the pain? All fours? Bouncing on a ball? Walking around?

DaisysGotABigBump · 16/05/2007 12:28

Cheers Foxy...i definately feel much more relaxed about it all now, so hopefully the next few weeks will fly by.

The nonsense pains etc I've been having over the last few days though...I might not make it till then. I felt like asking for an internal so they could see what was going on, but I doubt they would've done it anyway....notes are recording 3/5th but even after all our chat about it the other week, I'm not sure whether that is 3/5 engaged i.e.fully, or 3/5 can be felt above the pelvis 1.e. not quite fully. I'll ask the doc on Friday if I remember...it's bloody uncomfortable, whatever it means.

Fingers crossed no bulging veins in legs or elsewhere and no piles...are they one of those things that you're either susceptible to or you're not?

nice bag Lilkel...very stylish!

Has anyone noticed that the May birth announcements seem to be coming thick and fast now?

annobal · 16/05/2007 12:29

Wow, Daisy - must be great to have that resolved. How exciting and extremely scary!

hollyandalice · 16/05/2007 12:31

How exciting daisy! Glad you made a decision you are happy with. Time seems to be going really quickly atm, we'll all have babies really soon!! AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!

IKWYM about road bumps! Yesterday everytime dp drove over a bump in the road I oofed and nearly wet myself! I think my bubs may be right down too!

Lilkel hope the pain goes soon, maybe try and have a bit of a sleep.

notsolilKel · 16/05/2007 12:34

ok going to hospital to be monitored - will attempt to email someone if something happens...!
