Have a nice time at the meet-up if you're going ladies....how will you find each other? this is a big meet-up isn't it?

I'm off for a shower and to get dressed and do a bit more nesting....now that the end-date is in sight I feel the urge.

NattyThomasandEllen · 20/05/2007 10:54

right off to clean the house b4 visitors turn up.. well actually direct DH from sofa, while goaning every 20mins thru another BH.. stupid midwife and her "home work"

DaisysGotABigBump · 20/05/2007 10:54

LOL Foxy.....

DaisysGotABigBump · 20/05/2007 10:55

Natty...if they're every 20 mins....are they BH or the real thiing?????

bumperlicious · 20/05/2007 11:05

Why thick socks just out of interest? I thought that by all accounts labour units were swelteringly hot?

Btw, anyone going for handheld fan for labour bag, I got 2 for £1 in a pound shop, and for water spray just bought an empty water spray bottle from boots as I didn't like the thought of the canned sprays in case they smelt of chemicals.

bumperlicious · 20/05/2007 11:06

Foxy - you took the words right out of my mouth!

foxybrown · 20/05/2007 11:08

Its for the transition stage. At the end of stage 1 (the dilating) all the blood leaves your extremeties and goes fanjo-direction, so your feet get cold.

I'd recommend getting some with the rubber bits on the bottom if you were thinking of walking the labour ward corridors.

notsolilKel · 20/05/2007 11:11

you go Natty - if that was my homework, I would've defo failed

sounds promising though...

Thanks Foxy, v helpful!

Ooh DH here with yummy food. Off to comfort eat!

DaisysGotABigBump · 20/05/2007 11:21

Muchostinky....I know where I know your MN name from....I caught it on the stats thread....lord...those brain shrinking pregnancy hormones, don't you just love them

riabutterflew · 20/05/2007 11:31

I'm not a big believer in homework either!

I don't remember having worn socks yet (I hate having hot feet) but I just know if I don't take them I will want some and will have to steal DHs (and if he's - literally - hot-footed it from work they will stink! TMI). Bless him, he is fretting that he won't be able to be there and will miss it and that it will have an emotional effect on the LO throughoutits life because he was there for all the others. And we thought men were shallow!

I am so organised this morning that we all have our clothes on 1 hour before we are due at our lunch date. I don't know what to do... might have to go as far as picking up toys.

Hope that helped foxy.

foxybrown · 20/05/2007 11:40

LOL Ria! My DP doesn't want to be there (had only witnessed one the three so far) and doesn't feel guilty!

Frankly I don't want him there either. He'll be far too bloody annoying!

foxybrown · 20/05/2007 11:41

For some reason i've always had purple socks. No idea why thats happened. Must be the least popular colour and always on sale. They go straight in the bin anyway.

foxybrown · 20/05/2007 11:52

so true

riabutterflew · 20/05/2007 11:59

My socks are fushcia pink with rubber on the bottom.

I am SO bored, now I remember why I always leave it 'til the last minute to get ready to go out.

Had better log off before I spend any more money...

See ya later, enjoy your afternoons of sunshine and loveliness.

riabutterflew · 20/05/2007 12:01

LOL foxy, I have obviously been over 30 for about 10 years (I am 29).

Bye-ee x

notsolilKel · 20/05/2007 12:04

LOL Foxy.
Grand Designs is one of my current faves!!

Just before I REALLY DO go , if the new thread starts while I'm not here please link it someone then I don't have to wear out my brain cells finding it.

Things that go POP (or whoosh) in the night?

bumperlicious · 20/05/2007 12:11

Yep, I just ticked everyone of those (except having a shed! - I need one though!) Much prefer Terry Wogan's dulcet tones the morning to Chris Moyles. Haven't been clubbing in about a year and a half since I mistakenly went during Fresher's week and felt soooo old! Am old before my time!

Farking back ache - can't bloody sit comfortably! Ever think money WOULD actually solve all your problems? If I was rich I would send someone to John Lewis to go and buy me one of those glider chairs and the world would be good again. Or I would have my personal masseuse come over, or go and rest in my private swimming pool... the possibilities are endless!

notsolilKel · 20/05/2007 12:20

Bumper - have you any paracetemol? Hot water bottle? Take a bath? ((HUGS))

OP posts:
bumperlicious · 20/05/2007 13:06

Thanks lilkel, actually all three of those are god ideas. Been loathe to take paracetamol, may take some before bed though. Hot water bottle a good idea.

bumperlicious · 20/05/2007 13:07

Good ideas (not God)!

NattyThomasandEllen · 20/05/2007 16:20

oh where is everyone?

NattyThomasandEllen · 20/05/2007 16:28

no posts since 1? whats going on, everyone gone into labour spontaniously?

no not real things, just BH as they only hurt uncomfortably not unbearably.. they have given me a few hours off anyway. didnt go meet up in the end, feeling too rough with not enough sleep

hubby washing up i am sooo suprised!

will be on later once the tom is in bed, and i have collasped on the bed with the laptop

BadZelda · 20/05/2007 16:43

Just back from park...I did see some mumsnetters I think, but was feeling a bit shy...none of them looked like you Natty... bit knackered now having been to the playground, cafe, and run around after child, who has just fallen asleep: think I'll follow her example and have a nap!
