Hello new thread!! I've started composing messages several times on the old one and got distracted before posting so here I am placemarking and welcoming new ladies and congratulating heartbeats and all that stuffs...

@SS81C your scan is so clear!! Did they say you're 10ish weeks now? They were pointing bits out on mine (at about 8 weeks) and it all just looked like white fuzz to me..

Anybody else poke their boobs every time anyone mentions it on here? 🤣 I'm sometimes slightly worried that I don't have many symptoms, mainly the lack of sickness, and I'm sure I should just be thinking myself lucky, but have to keep doing the poke test as reassurance!

We're going camping this weekend but I'm really not looking forward to it 😵 trudging through a field 3/4 times for all my overnight wees isn't filling me with excitement! 😅

SS81C · 04/08/2017 14:54

@mrskitty oh my goodness yess....i have no idea how I will.manage....i keep telling myself that there's a big difference in nearly 2 and 2 and a half and I'm sure my toddler won't be such a nightmare....people manage right so I'm sure it will be fine....
@happyhippy yes 10 weeks..... In my first pregnancy I had scans at 8+6, 10+6 and 12+6 and the difference between the scans is incredible....from pretty much a blob in the first to basically baby shaped in the 12 week.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 04/08/2017 15:09

It's stopped now, I didn't speak with my Dr as they didn't have any appointments even for a phone consultation. I think I'll be okay!

scooby omg I crave cheddar cheese so much! And tomarto soup aswell! Weird hehe x
Aww zyla you poor thing x

My birth if anyone wants to have a read
I was 23 & dd is now 18m. I was induced as i ended up getting Pre-eclampsia in the last week or so before she was due was when I started having mpre physical symptoms like swelling..poor reflexes.. high bp & serve headaches.
Everything was pretty straight forward.
Went in for induction with pessary.. which actually came out of my cervix and was hanging out my foof for about 5 hours 🙈 ..I had no courage to ask the mw to re-insert it as it's not too pleasant.
Once it was re-insterted my water's broke after 2hours and i was 2cm dialated.
I managed to get to 7cm with my tens machine (really recommened) that's when i was took off the ward and to the delivery room. I was hooked up to a drip because of my Pre-eclampsia to reduce my bp as it was scarily high at that point. Had some gas and air and it was rubbish and made an annoying sound lol. So i ended up with a diamorphine injection in my bum. I couldn't wee so had to have my bladder emptied with a little catheter straw. That was it then until i was 10cm and my contractions died down so they added something to my drip to make them stronger.. pushed a few times and dd was born..2 contractions after was the placenta. I had a 2nd degree tear (internal and perianal) so had some stiches.. and then a mw had to put her finger up my bum to make sure she hadn't broke through the skin in my bum. Bf dd for a good 45mins had some marmalade on toast and a cuppa then had a shower and it was all done. I did plan for a nice relaxing water birth lol but my body had a different plan.. but i can honestly say birth was no where near as bad as i expected xx

Glad it has eased off Bluee

Hope you can get some rest Zyla

My boys birth

Well I'd had a home birth planned, however after things got going after my 2nd sweep @ 40+6. It was all underneath and imo agony, so once my oh got back from work I made him take me to the hospital. Got sent home after being given some codiene, did nothing as I threw it back up.

Got in the bath at home and tried to lie down. Returned to the hospital @ 10pm requested an epidural. Got one I was 4 cms, relaxing during was difficult as I could hear the conversation outside the door. My mum had gone out and from the sound of it nearly passed out. She was fine they gave her a brew and some biscuits.

Got to 6cm with epidural and pictocin but little dudes heart rate kept dramatically dropping and when checked he'd disengaged. Cue me arguing with the dr that nope that can't happen he was engaged earlier. So I was given the option of waiting for a few hours or having a c section. I chose a section because I obviously didn't want to risk it becoming a proper emergency section.

The theatre was lovely and relaxed due to my decision. Took a while for them to let my oh in, they topped my epidural up and prepped me. The theatre was freezing and they drop cold saline on you to check what can feel after the first few I made them do it when I wasn't looking as mentally I was convinced i could feel it. Before too long I heard my lb cry they showed him to me and took him to do his checks. I felt sick so the anaesthetist gave me something for that.

Got out of recovery the midwife helped him latch he fed for an hour and a half then slept.

They don't know why his heart rate was dropping but I am pleased that I made the decision I did. Recovery wasn't too bad I'd recommend getting up and about as soon as you feel you can but don't over do it.

There's a few changes I'd like with this one as they will be a section.

Glad it's cleared up Bluee

Is anyone managing to eat healthily? I've eaten appallingly today. Normally I'm really good but I just don't want healthy things. I have eaten a bacon sandwich and some melon and now Mcdonalds chicken nuggets as I was out in town and started feeling really sick and that's all I could think about eating. I'm genuinely worried I'm going to be the size of a house in a few weeks!

Excited1203 · 04/08/2017 16:08

That tens machine looks interesting @Bluee, I'll have to try to remember that. Please can you evangelise once we're past 7 months and I'll buy one then? Heh, feels funny when we've only all been chatting for a month or so to make a request another 5 months out!

@Scooby - that sounds hard, but I think you made a good call, getting him out while he was still strong.

@whyhastherumgone - I'm healthy today. But I had one day when the healthiest thing I ate was sausage sandwich or crisps (not sure which of those was healthiest, but the cheesecake, sweets and stuffed croissant weren't).

SheSaidHeSaid · 04/08/2017 16:09

Sorry guys, I'm desperately trying to keep up with everyone but my brain quite often isn't engaging enough to keep up with what's going on and, frankly, I'm feeling pretty rough at the moment.

I'm still exhausted, feel stressed out about bits and bobs (not baby related, mostly work because I have a stressful job anyway), I'm being a moody cow but I can't help myself even though I know I'm being snappy and unreasonable and feel like I'm going to see my DH walking out the door with a suitcase soon because I probably would if I were him. Oh and I've got what I presume are stretching kind of pains in my lower abdomen, not as strong as period pains but the same kind of feeling. From googling, I'm guessing it's everything moving and stretching down there getting ready for when this raspberry sized baby gets bigger. In the meantime however I'm pretty uncomfortable and too scared to put a water bottle on me in case it's too hot.

I'll tell you what though, I'm glad I've got this place to have a little moan and get it out my system as I don't want to be one of those pregnant ladies who constantly moans out loud because I am actually extremely happy to be pregnant and I appreciate I'm in a position so many people would love to be in but can't or are struggling to be. I need to get a grip really.

Happy to see some good news on here from others and also some new people.
Smile

MrsW0812 · 04/08/2017 16:13

So with you in everything you said @SheSaidHeSaid 🙂

SunyBay · 04/08/2017 16:19

@SheSaidHeSaid - I'm getting that stretching feeling too. And my hot water bottle has been a godsend. From everything I've read a (covered - mine's in a fleecy bag) hot bottle is fine in pregnancy as it doesn't raise your core temperature (unlike a hot bath or sauna), and if it can ease your discomfort, I say why not? :)

SheSaidHeSaid · 04/08/2017 16:24

Oh really, SunyBay, interesting. I think I'll give it a go then as I really think I'll be happier with it. The aching is dragging me down a bit if I'm honest.

Countdowntofour · 04/08/2017 16:27

Hope everyone's doing ok today, today I'm just shattered and have fluid retention so I'm achey! Luckily my girls have been accepting of me being lazy today and my middle one even gave me a foot massage lol. Feeling daunted after my diabetic clinic app yesterday which was after my scan - I was only diagnosed type 2 a little while ago and now I'm testing four times a day and so bored of eating eggs!! If anyone has some good lunch ideas for type 2 diabetics thatd be amazing!

mrskitty15 · 04/08/2017 16:41

@whyhastherumgone I am eating healthy at present as I am doing Slimming World. My nausea hasn't kicked in properly yet though so that is very much subject to change.

You just need to eat whatever you can stomach really. I put on a lot of weight with my first pregnancy and have since lost 2.5 stone (mainly slimming world) and determined not to go crazy this time. However, I fear Christmas could be tricky, although I probably won't be allowed all the various cheese I would normally eat in copious amounts Grin

ZylaB · 04/08/2017 16:49

@Countdowntofour they want me to test at least 7 times a day, but I'm probably underestimating if I say I'm doing 12 a day! It's to stop me fretting, so anything that reassures me is worth it eh?

ZylaB · 04/08/2017 16:50

Oh, and Google low GI stuff, fab for type 2s. That's one advantage of me being type 1, I can eat what I want, just have to inject correctly for it.

Excited1203 · 04/08/2017 16:57

@Countdowntofour - I don't know diabetic food, but I wondered if you can eat things like refried beans (the santa maria stuff in a jar isn't made with loads of fat) with cheese and jalapenos in a wrap? This place has quesadilla recipes you could work around: www.diabeticlivingonline.com/diabetic-recipes/mexican/diabetic-mexican-recipes. Or the BBC recipes are often useful to scroll for ideas www.bbc.co.uk/food/collections/diabetes_recipes.

Countdowntofour · 04/08/2017 17:26

Thanks @zyla and @excited 😊 I'll def check those things out.

Zyla where on your fingers do you test? I seem to do it on the same finger everytime as it seems less sore, any tips?

mamasiz · 04/08/2017 17:38

Hello all 😊 Hugs for you @SheSaidHeSaid - and I share your thoughts about this lovely board! It's a little haven for us ladies.

mamasiz · 04/08/2017 17:41

@whyhastherumgone I seem to have the tastebuds of a completely different person now. I've eaten more fried egg rice over the last week than is reasonable and my kitchen cupboard is heaving with biscuits, battenburg cake(!), which I can't get enough of, and tortilla chips and twiglets. I almost cried real tears when I couldn't find any battenburg cake a few weeks ago. I was a state!

Onceuponamama · 04/08/2017 18:00

Girls I keep forgetting to ask, is it true that when you see a heartbeat on an ultrasound that you are less likely to miscarry?

DancingUnicorn · 04/08/2017 18:12

Mama in that if there is a heartbeat the statistics of miscarrying go down, yes (i.e., you wouldn't have to see if, ifswim). I think the daily stats that have been posted a few times are essentially 'if baby has hb today this is the risk of miscarriage from this point'. Dunno if that makes any sense.

SheSaidHeSaid · 04/08/2017 18:15

onceupon, I think so but don't quote me on that.

Enariva · 04/08/2017 18:34

Almost everything I can stand to eat is really sugary or junk food.
All my main meals have been replaced with tinned soup, rice pudding or chips and beans.
Still having to cook healthy food for DD though so twice the work every meal time!

Gallopingfeet · 04/08/2017 18:48

7 weeks tomorrow and the nausea has really kicked in! Along with a killer migraine this week and was told I can't take anything for it! Nightmare!! I'm with you on the all I want to eat is junk food! I'm a size 6/8 and live an active life and since little bean has been in there all I want to do is lie on the sofa and eat McDonald's and KFC and chips and the thought of healthy food I'm like no thank you, can't stand the thought of brown bread! Hahaha pregnancy for you eh girls?

ZylaB · 04/08/2017 19:12

@Countdowntofour I have two fingers I use but should probably swap more often as they're covered in hard bits and little black spots from it!
