Well as I expected no blood got from me. Gotta go back Monday and try again if not it'll be the consultant to have a go. Hopefully the hospital will have my booking stuff by then as they didn't have it today. Will mean I'll know when my scan is Monday too.

Countdowntofour · 03/08/2017 15:50

Thanks for the well wishes ladies 😊 all good, they've put me back a week so am now 8wks +2 but it may change. Heartbeat seen so can relax for awhile!!

whyhastherumgone · 03/08/2017 16:35

Yay great news @countdowntofour

Sorry to hear others have experienced the dreaded dodgy stomach as well, but thanks for reassuring me. I wasn't sure if it was a bug or something else but all my fluey type symptoms have gone, which is weird but good.

The nausea has definitely hit me today, every time I swallow I'm very aware of it, and feel like I have a constant bubble if nausea. I'm spent the day prone on the sofa, and I don't even think I've got it that bad yet!

I've also got what I think [hope] are stretching pains in a band above my belly button, feels kind of like a really sore pulling sensation - although could just be gas as I'm also ridiculously bloated today. Basically, I'm just really uncomfortable stomach wise!! I look ridiculous, none of my trousers will do up today, I'm in sweatpants under a blanket ignoring everything I need to do.

Got my booking in appointment next week, was going to book in a private scan for the day before but haven't got round to it yet so think I'll book it for the week after if I can as I will hopefully be a bit further along then. Love hearing good news from everyone's scans it's great!

Onceuponamama · 03/08/2017 17:28

Hi everyone, I'm still around and super nauseous. Anyone else have a bad back? I think it's a trapped nerve as it happens when I walk and goes down my left thigh. Painful! Hope everyone's morning sickness is easying up (or you're finding ways to cope)

* passes everyone a theoretical plain Jacobs cracker *

whyhastherumgone · 03/08/2017 17:35

@OnceUponAMama that sounds like sciatic nerve pain, poor you :( hope it gets better soon

Still haven't moved from the sofa. Why do I feel hungover?!

Chews the Jacobs Cracker gratefully but slowly

scottishem · 03/08/2017 18:24

Hi everyone,
Im 7+1 (i thinkkk) with baby number 1.
Had terrible trapped wind pains and cramping at start (no bleeding) but all of that seems to have stopped however been hit with dreadful sickness where I can't keep food or fluids down so waiting results of urine test to check dehydration levels.
But thought I'de pass on some tips from my GP incase anyone else is struggling:
Try and keep a fuller stomach instead of empty stomach even if it does mean throwing up eventually.
Keep sipping fluids again even if you throw them up instantly because your gums will absorb some of the fluid anyway. Try cheap fruit ice lollies and ice cubes.
Have something like a pack of plain biscuits next to bed and eat one before getting out of bed in the morning.
Hope everyone is having a happy first trimester! X

whereareyousleep · 03/08/2017 18:42

Had booking in appt went well. Have been told can book a birth debrief from first labour. Also was weighed and have lost 6lb in 2 weeks I've got it to lose so it's not an issue shows how bad the nausea has been though. Hope everyone else is well and battling through.Smile

FuzzyOwl · 03/08/2017 20:58

I had a debrief whereareyousleep and found it really helpful. I hope you find it as beneficial.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

whereareyousleep · 03/08/2017 21:10

@fuzzyowl that's good that you found it helpful. I don't want to say too much as I know there are lots of first timers on here but I'm very nervous of a 2nd labour.

FuzzyOwl · 03/08/2017 21:38

@whereareyousleep I had a debrief for both of my labours although the second one was more to answer questions that because it was traumatic. On paper my second labour was far worse, but the presence of a great midwife meant it had felt much more positive. Due to what happened in my first pregnancy and labour, I spent so much of my second labour in tears and fought for an ELCS which was eventually agreed but then I went into labour before it was scheduled and ended up with an EMCS due to complications anyway. I really would recommend a debrief and also (if necessary) asking for an appointment to speak to your supervisor of midwifes (who might be the one who does the debrief anyway) to discuss what needs to be in place to make everything go much more smoothly (or as smoothly as it can) this time round.

whyhastherumgone · 03/08/2017 22:22

Hi @scottishem :) welcome!

Poochieblue · 03/08/2017 22:35

@whyhastherumgone hungover is exactly how I described it to DH!

Thank you for the Jacobs cracker, DH doesn't like them so might not cause issues 😂😂

My back has also been bad, but then it "goes" on me every now and then anyway. When I woke up Monday morning and sat on the edge of the bed it went "ping" which is never good 😳 that pain is now easing but I do also have constant "I'm due on and also constipated" back pain which is p-ing me off now 😪

I've just had a crazy 10 mins and filled up the part 2 thread with drivvle so it closes and we don't lose anymore posts. I started part 3 a bit too soon. Hope we're all here now :-)

I feel for you poochie, my back has gone on a couple of occasions and it's agony. Heat heat heat always helps me. Been a bit sore too today. Has anyone got a little bump yet or is it just bloat?

SheSaidHeSaid · 03/08/2017 22:51

Hello! I'm still here! Missed 3 pages already but i think I've caught up now. Absolutely shattered though so will bid you all a too night.

definitely just placemarked in the new thread

SheSaidHeSaid · 03/08/2017 22:52

Too night? Good night more like. Told you I was tired!

Elbi · 03/08/2017 22:58

onceuponamama mumsnet should replace the biscuit emoji with a Jacobs cracker just for the preggo boards.

Hi scottishem!

Excited1203 · 04/08/2017 03:52

Yawn. Slept from 9.15 after 4 cream crackers and pregnacare vitamins. I'm still tired, but I think I'm too hungry to sleep more yet. Still feeling very sicky, but planning to have potato waffles with cheese and hope they help me get another few hours in.

Excited1203 · 04/08/2017 03:52

Is anyone else up?

Excited1203 · 04/08/2017 04:04

Update: the bit of cheese quickly proved to be a bad idea, but the potato waffles were nice. Back to bed now. Night / morning all.

Jacqueje · 04/08/2017 06:27

@whyistherumgone I'm getting pain around by belly button too, although mine is often right on my belly button, hoping it is just stretching but super weird the first couple of times!

If anyone needs trousers that are smart enough for work but comfortable for bloating - oh the bloating! Anyway I've got a few pairs of uniqlo smart style ankle length trousers, they have an elastic waistband!!! But also still look smart, I'm hoping they'll last me for quite a while before I need maternity trousers. Link here www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/women/bottoms/ankle-length

whyhastherumgone · 04/08/2017 06:28

hope you managed to get some more sleep @Excited1203
I went to bed feeling grim and bloated and TMI have had the worst gas over night 😳 poor DH. I've woken up and i no longer look fiv months pregnant so that's a good start to the day. Wonder how long that will be last before my tummy starts bloating again!

My nausea seems to start mid morning so i'm okay at the moment although i'm still really struggling to find things i want to eat. The only thing im consistently fancying is melon.

@poochie normally i would be doubly grumpy that i feel like this and havent touched wine but the thought of a glass is so unappealing! I've gone off coffee as well which is insane, coffee is my lifeblood.

DancingUnicorn · 04/08/2017 07:19

Whereareyousleep if you want to talk about what happened last time, you're very welcome to. Especially if you think it'd be helpful for you. Whilst hard labour stories are certainly scary, I think I'd like to be aware of potential realities as well as just the perfect 'I'm going to give birth in the water pool with no drugs' kind of stories. But obviously you don't have to share if it's traumatic and you'd rather not relive it here!! Just don't want you to think you can't if you wanted to.

I'm beyond exhausted. It's unfathomable.

Doublegloucester · 04/08/2017 07:26

Morning all, found new thread!

Upset stomach and sore throat to add to nausea and exhaustion - fun! I think sore throat may be due to an ulcer as I can only drink fruit juice atm :-(

Can't wait until all this passes. Has been difficult to feel excited with all this going on!

Scoobygang7 · 04/08/2017 07:31

@whyhastherumgone last pregnancy I also went off coffee and moved on to tea. Am pleased so far this pregnancy that hasn't yet been the case.
