Thanks Wiggle4, yes it's my first scan. I'll be 12+4 according to my calculations, so it's been so long since my bfp that I'm in desperate need of something to make it feel real again! There have been a couple of people on this thread get bad news at the 12-week scan, so it's in the back of my mind that nothing is guaranteed.

We will find out the gender at the second scan, partly to prepare DD (who seems to think she gets to choose Grin) and also because I nearly went mad not knowing last time!

Tiberius12 · 03/09/2017 09:45

We are definitely going to find out, we did with our DD too

hometownunicorn · 03/09/2017 10:26

Welcome wiggle

I had my booking appointment Friday. The midwife was lovely and it's making everything seem a bit more real. Still no scan date, which is annoying as I'm 10+5 today so really want to get it soon!

We haven't decided whether or not to find out the sex. In some ways I'd like to hold on till baby is born, but in others it might be nice to know earlier. DP is equally undecided so it'll probably be a last minute decision at the scan.

Onceuponamama · 03/09/2017 10:26

My scan is on Thursday. So scared incase something bad happens Sad that's why I haven't been tuning into this thread as often. It's so sad reading the bad news and I then develop anxiety about my own scan! Is anyone else more emotional since becoming pregnant?

I also definitely what to find out the gender. It's my first and I want to be prepared and get cute little pink or blue bits in before he or she is born! We are thinking of paying £50 and finding out privately at 16 weeks! Such big kids!

whyhastherumgone · 03/09/2017 10:53

@hometownunicorn same happened to me - i ended up phoning the hospital in the end and they hadn't got my referral from the midwife, i wasn't even on the system. They were so helpful and gave me and email address to send info to and basically had my appointment booked in by the next day - might be worth checking?

@onceuponamama mine is thursday too. I get clammy palms whenever i think about it, so trying not to think about it. Had a good scan at 8 weeks but i know that doesn't guarantee anything. Just going to stay busy this week I think and try not to give in to scanxiety completely on Thursday, i keep telling myself what will be will be!

whyhastherumgone · 03/09/2017 10:54

Also for anyone who is still not sleeping I tried a sample of lush sleepy cream last two nights (checked with their HQ that it's safe for pregnant women) and had my first night of six glorious hours of unbroken sleep. Could be a fluke, could be placebo but i'm going to buy a small pot today

Bluebell93 · 03/09/2017 10:59

My scan is also on Thursday (at 8am Shock) so I'm currently wishing the weekend away to get there. I should be exactly 12 weeks then per my LMP, although our 8 week scan put us two days ahead of that.

I keep trying to tell myself that worrying it'll be bad news is pointless, it's not like I'll be any more prepared if it is, plus is ruins the days running up to the scan...

My husband keeps telling me whatever happens we still have the two of us, which is lovely.

He also wants to find out the sex, so we'll probably pay for a private gender scan around 16 weeks (also so it gives us less time to wait between scans).

hometownunicorn · 03/09/2017 11:07

@whyhastherumgone thanks, that's a good idea. The midwife said she'd follow it up on Friday but I might call anyway as I hate waiting!

whyhastherumgone · 03/09/2017 11:16

@hometownunicorn i just phone the hospital maternity services number for mine - they were great. Good luck! I hated waiting around not knowing when it was going to be. BecAuse i dealt with maternity admin direct they let me select a few dates i would prefer as well :)

@Bluebell93 ah that's a lovely thing to say (your DH). Same here. It's so easy to get brought down by the anxiety and although it would be a lie if i said i wasn't worried, I'm just trying not to focus on it.

@onceuponamama i've definitely been more emotional, everything seems to be heightened.

ZylaB · 03/09/2017 11:57

@countdowntofour are you T1 or T2 diabetic, I can't remember sorry. When have they said they want you to have the baby? I've been told 37 weeks so he'll definitely be a Feb baby, even if I do t get preeclampsia like last time!

(It feels weird saying 'he'!!)

12 week scan on wed and I'm bricking it, despite having had a good scan 2 weeks ago at 10+2!

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 03/09/2017 12:54

10 days to go til my 12w scan and scanxiety is beginning to creep in here too... you're right though, stressing about it won't make anyone better placed to cope if it is awful news, and just spoils the days leading up to it.

I missed my booking appointment Blush and have been struggling to find a chance to ring and reschedule. I'm basically either with DS or at work and neither of these are conducive to phoning - I work in a massive open-plan office and pretty much wherever I wander off to will not be private, and will probably have at least one person I know hanging around. Got to bite the bullet and do it tomorrow anyway I think, or it just won't get done. Last time I was massively excited about my booking appointment, but now it feels mainly inconvenient!

SunyBay · 03/09/2017 13:08

My scan's on Wednesday afternoon, and I now have scanxiety! I've not had many symptoms and so many ladies due in March have lovely wee bumps (although logically I know that lots of first timers don't show until 20 weeks even) that I'm slowly winding myself up to hear bad news.

On the one hand, I'm trying to tell myself not be anxious, as it won't help. On the other, I do think it might unconciously help to prepare me. I don't know. I just know that right now I just want to know!

Gallopingfeet · 03/09/2017 13:27

I have my hospital scan tomorrow and very nervous now! Already had 3 private scans at 6, 8 and 10 weeks and all fine and growing but nothing is certain is it! I should be 12 +2 if I go off LMP but private scans put me a week earlier so I think I'll only be 11+2 so I'm hoping they can see everything okay! Good luck vibes this way would be much appricated ladies please!

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 03/09/2017 14:27

Good luck for tomorrow galloping!

No bump here either yet suny and I'm not even a first timer! Hope the days fly by til Weds for you.

Onceuponamama · 03/09/2017 15:11

Good luck for everyone with scans this week! Keeping everything crossed for you all. My plan to get through these next few days will be to do some 'autumn' cleaning and I am going to attempt to declutter the spare room (hopefully a future nursery!). I need to keep really busy otherwise I will constantly fret until Thursday!

Off topic a little but what is everyone eating now that they are starting to enter into their second trimesters? My diet these past few weeks has been horrendous with the ms! I want to start eating better but I just have no appetite! (except for babybels and green apples)

Scoobygang7 · 03/09/2017 16:11

I've next to no appetite either @Onceuponamama all I want to eat is jacket potatoes with tuna mayo and cheese.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 03/09/2017 16:54

So I'm 10+6 today and my nausea has returned, fantastic! I've been without it for nearly 2 weeks so it's not a welcome change.

How is everyone else feeling?

Countdowntofour · 03/09/2017 17:25

@zylab I'm t2, I had gestational diabetes undiagnosed in my last pregnancy and then got diagnosed about 6 months ago.
I had a lush girly day today with my (pregnant) friend, we went to a hotel with a gorgeous pool and then food after so I'm feeling full and tired but relaxed. First childfree day for 6 weeks so it was overdue 😊
As for food I have to be careful with sugars but luckily I love savoury stuff atm!!

SunyBay · 03/09/2017 18:31

Thanks @Nell Smile

Well, I appear to have developed round ligament pain. More so on my left side than my right. If I don't move, it's a dull ache. If I move the wrong way, a lovely stabby pain like I've pulled a muscle.

My diet's not been great. I still go through daily phases of liking things and not. With my stomach aching at the moment, it's dulled my appetite a wee bit.

KateRosanne · 04/09/2017 00:36

Hello!

I'm due around 13th March with my first baby! I'm a total newbie but have planned and wanted this for a while! I'm not great with forums but my friend told me to come on here to find people with the same due month and mentioned there's usually a Facebook group I could join for March 18 due dates? Is that a thing? Because I'm much better at Facebook that forums 😂

Scoobygang7 · 04/09/2017 06:51

Hi @KateRosanne welcome if you private message @FuzzyOwl with your Facebook email address she'll add you to the secret Facebook group.

SS81C · 04/09/2017 07:23

Looking forward to all the scan pics over the next week. 💛💛

KateRosanne · 04/09/2017 07:52

Thanks @Scoobygang7 !

FuzzyOwl · 04/09/2017 08:31

I've sent everyone who messaged me a link to the Facebook group but let me know if any problems. Smile

Do we have many scans this week? Hope they all go well if so.

mrskitty15 · 04/09/2017 12:57

My scan isn't until a week on Thursday, the wait is going very slowly indeed...

Good luck to everyone with scans this week 😊
