Eddas, Hensden - can't believe you have to take your own pillows - it'll be like moving house when you need to go in to hospital! Think I have all I need packed, though maybe whould ask mw tomo - moved here after dd and ds so maybe things are different! My only concern so far is that it might take dh so long to get parked he'll miss the birth (I think it is important he sees all the effort and mess, never mind anything else like the baby's arrival). Hope it happens middle of the night again.

OK food burning in oven, I really must switch off the internet now.

bubblez · 21/03/2007 17:07

Hello all,

I can't believe that I only posted yesterday and already im lost lol...
Whats all this about snot, shinning torches and stealing pillows?!!?

Welcome to all the newbies

1B3 Take care hun and keep letting us know how you are, dont worry about if you sound like you're moaning, you and ooogs are amazing to be going this far in your twin pregnancies...

Cant remember nething else.....

Oh charnbump!!!! exciting, exciting!!!! Are you prepared?

I've been getting twinges etc and am with all the other ladies and their uncomfortable nights..... also when baby moves it is no longer a nice 'ahh look at that' type feeling, more like a 'omg my skin feels like its gonna split'... (hats off to those with twins)

Oh and grrrr to dd who has a cold and is being the biggest brat going..

2weeks and 4days left (feels like a lifetime)

WO have emailed you babes

bubblez · 21/03/2007 17:15

Hello halle,

Is it a thread on mn??

I agree the idea is brill. You are addressing questions that when you are pregnant don't even cross your mind, but post birth you wish you knew before-hand.

mammyjo · 21/03/2007 17:17

Hi all. Well I have seen the midwife and she said that babys head is right down in my pelvis as she could barely feel it at all today - unless I have lost it somewhere! Measuring at 39 weeks and she tells me its a "good size baby". Seem to remember her saying that last time and ds was 8lb 11oz so hoping its no bigger than that. Have been having lots of pains today which are definitely more intense than previously but am trying not to get my hopes up too much. Next appointment is the day after my due date so hoping I wont need to keep that one!

mammyjo · 21/03/2007 17:19

Hi Halle. Think its a brilliant idea personally. There is an awful lot that people dont think to tell you before you have your first baby and it would be so useful to have the information up front. Also, I suffered with post natal depression following the birth of my first baby and knew nothing about it. Totally unexpected and didnt have the faintest idea how to cope with it. Forewarned is forearmed as they say! Hope it goes well for you.

hensden · 21/03/2007 17:20

I didn't know sleeping on your left helped, I'll try that, sounds a bit more sensible than the mag light method, maybe I've been looking at the wrong sort of web site

They've also cut our HV service so we don't have a local one any more. No-one has mentioned a visit this time, think if you want one to visit you have to ask.

bubblez · 21/03/2007 17:21

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! EXCITING! ok not trying to get your hopes up but......... OOOOOOOOOOHHHHH! HOW EXCITING!!

AngeG · 21/03/2007 17:22

Hi Isabelly, hope all ok with you.

Halle - sounds like a really good idea to me

AngeG · 21/03/2007 17:24

Mammyjo - how exciting, hopefully not long now til our first April baby makes an appearance

Katy44 · 21/03/2007 17:24

Hello everyone,
Can't believe I've missed so much - welcome to all the new people!
If you feel as though you want us to know more about you (don't blane you if you don't) please add yourselves to the stats thread

Halle · 21/03/2007 17:28

No no thread - I don't want to cross mn rules and promo a business. I developed the idea because I had such an easy time when number 2 came along and it made me wonder why it was so tough with number one. I started talking to other mums and it seemed we had had all the same sort of experiences and it came down to : why didn't any one tell us this stuff BEFORE the baby came out (cause lets face it you are just too tired to read up on it immediately after. The idea of the classed is to stop reinventing the wheel and give practical tips ranging from what type of breast pads are the most comfortable to how to convince your dh to be home at the time he said he would be.

My major problem is that the first time mums seem to be really focused on the birth and sick of people trying to sell them stuff. So I was looking at how I could best market it it so that they would realise that there was a whole lot of stuff that happens after pregnancy other than just labour. I am not so much looking to make money (although a little more wouldn't hurt I just want to provide what I believe to be a much needed service to stop the kinds of trauma I see with new mums.

liath · 21/03/2007 17:30

What's happening, Bubblez??

Halle - great idea. I enjoyed my NCT classes but they tended to focus on the birth and we were all at sea once baby was actually out.

Poor DH just rang to say he was leaving work early and I ordered him to find some ground almonds on the way home. Started baking and found I didn't have enough. Just what he wants to do I expect, poor sod.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 21/03/2007 17:40

Halle, sounds good to me. I am due number 2 so feel a bit more prepared, but with number 1, all efforts/focus were on the birth and that was it.

Mammyjo, sounds exciting!!!

Hope everyone else is ok. Sorry am so knackered today having been i/c B all day, so head is like a sieve and I can't remember anything.

Love to you all!

bubblez · 21/03/2007 17:43

Oh sorry laith just getting too excited about mammyjo's news!!! sounds like we might be having our first 'special delivery' soon! ....(not wanting to get mammyjo's hopes up) ....but....

Katy44 · 21/03/2007 17:56

Mavornia, congratulations on your blue bean
(I'm the April 07 stalker, in case you hadn't realised. I normally limit it to GMM but am willing to branch out)

Katy44 · 21/03/2007 17:58

Have had a really busy day shopping. Am ready for bed now.
phdlife - I bought 2 nighties in M&S - it was the only place I could find T-shirt style nighties that had button down tops. OK, the were pink and stripey but you can't have everything and they were only £7!
It was those or the frilly polyester ones!

Katy44 · 21/03/2007 17:59

If anyone is planning to have a baby soon then can you wait until I'm on ML, or I'll miss it all!

Bramshott · 21/03/2007 18:04

Blarrgggh - will people due at the same time as me stop posting 2 weeks and ... days !! Anything with a 2 at the front sounds so much closer than 3 weeks, which I keep telling myself is how long I've got, even though it's a blatant lie!! Lalalalala, head in sand, I'm only 37 weeks pregnant, I have ages and ages yet!!

Go Mammyjo! You started our first thread, so by rights you should be the first along with 1b3 and Oooggs!

Octo - well you did ask !

muminabigtumi · 21/03/2007 18:07

Oooh it would be quite appropriate if Mammyjo's baby came first as I'm sure she started the original April thread....(forgive me if I'm wrong).

Hi to the new ladies - I cannot belevie how many posts there are in one day - I am quite overwhelmed!

Glad people have mentioned "increased discharge" - I just thought I was a freak! Don't know what is up with me but my sex drive has gone through the roof this past few days...poor Phil doesn't know what to do!....you REALLY have to have a sense of humour to contemplate sex with a heavily pregnant lady!

Had a lovely day today - went for a walk this morning (regret that now as in agony) and took James to the swings. Then popped in to see the girl down the road who is due 3 days after me - the way things are going we will end up having our c sections the same day as we have the same consultant and everything - we both have appointments to get our date from her on Tuesday - it will be really nice to have a friend so close by going through the exact same experience...would be lovely too if our babies shared the same birthdays and grew up near each other etc. She knows she is having another wee boy.

Charnbump - good luck chick - sounds like things are happening...I am thinking of everyone, cannot wait for the first baby to arrive...although I think it may send me into a bit of a panic.
SOSPL - hope you are ok, I'm finding Mat Leave a bit of a struggle to keep James occupied....had done the playdoh, baking and reading books by 10.30am this morning....think I need to stretch activites out abit! lol

Lusciousladylush · 21/03/2007 18:09

I can't believe you are being brave enough to do shopping this late in pregnancy, I really am so like ORCA the Whale.... and walk like a woman of 80 (a wobbling shuffle) that the thought of any walking to far or shopping (standing queueing more like it) is way beyond me.... 5 journeys and counting till I give up work!.

Wish I'd found your thread earlier, so nice to hear how other ladies are getting on with their bumps and stuff!

muminabigtumi · 21/03/2007 18:09

Bramshott - I know - I just checked and I have 26 days to go......."Gulp"

Katy44 · 21/03/2007 18:11

LusciousLadyLush, didn't realise from your original post that you were due in April too! Welcome! When are you due?

muminabigtumi · 21/03/2007 18:11

Hi Lusciousladylush - had to laugh at the "wobbling"....my husband politely informed me today that I look like a Weeble....

I remind myself of a cockroach on it's back when I am trying to get up off the sofa - just feel like the arms and legs are flailing wildly but just can't summon up the energy to lift the body up.....and don't get me tarted about turning over in bed....I nearly bounced Phil out last night!

Katy44 · 21/03/2007 18:12

no, don't get her tarted
