hi to all the newbies. been taking my inhaler alot in the night and struggling for breath. took ds to nursery then on to hospital to see consultant. couldn't park close so when I got there I was tired, breathless and upset.

cried at dr, infact didnt stop for an hour, by which time I was admitted and on central delivery. still in hospital on a ward. have had an asthma attack but have also had checks, ecg, bloods, wee, oxygen, nebulizer and lots of prodding.

twins are sstill in and fine with the odd contraction!!! no idea when I am going home. as for induction, won't do anything until I can breath properly. seeing consultant on rounds tomorrow.

nuttygirl · 21/03/2007 19:25

nuttygirl · 21/03/2007 19:27

Sorry x-posted Ooogs, sorry you're not well. Sending you best wishes, must be awful for you.

CaptainDippy · 21/03/2007 19:52

Evening - Just done a v.quick catch up - going over to friends to watch a DVD and relax a little when DH gets back from doing maths tutoring .....

Has been a reasonable day, although the DD's were tired and grumpy most of the a/n; but they went to bed promptly and quickly, which was nice.

Welcome Mavornia - Enjoy the madness!

to all!

Bit of a pathetic post - apologies ....

octopussyintummy · 21/03/2007 19:55

Welcome Ladyluscious

Halle - I think its a good idea to see past the birth - this is my third and know that the birth bit is tiny really in comparison to actually having them. One thing that always bugs me is how mw go on about how tired it is and what hard work it is - theres never anything about how amazing they are, how elated you can feel and what an achievement it is. Yes it is hard work - I found my second much much easier and when I think back I realise just how hard I was on myslef the first time round.

Love the torch nutty

CaptainDippy · 21/03/2007 20:02

Yes - welcome Ladylucious!

Hi Octo -

octopussyintummy · 21/03/2007 20:11

Hello CD

Mumcab · 21/03/2007 20:12

Hi everyone, went to yoga for the first time yesterday which is pretty ambitious 37weeks and 3days. OMG did I pay for it today. Despite this being the third one, I still find myself almost grateful for every twinge that i get, hoping aginst all hope that this might be it, but knowing that in reality it is probably not. don't you justlove those BH's??

YvieE · 21/03/2007 20:21

Welcome phdlife, nellyhel, mavornia and LadyLuscious!

Charnbump - I'm so excited for you

Hugs and more hugs to 1b3 and ooogs

Well have half a day in the office tomorrow after my 36 week AN appt and then half a day in the office on Friday before my parentcraft classes - then its ML here I come. EllieK are you feeling as excited as me - only one day to go

Also experiencing the baby hiccups and the increased discharge - the things they don't tell you!

hensden · 21/03/2007 20:29

Nutty - do you think I could get one of those on prescription, as I only want it to get the baby to turn

Katy - my dear old mum (79) bought me 2 nighties smocking included, it's the thought that counts. I don't know if they're polyester as well, static shocks all round..

oooggs - hope they do somthing for you soon hugs

babysopiniontakesover · 21/03/2007 20:37

Hi all.....

Not had a great deal of time to catch up but firstly welcome to all newbies.

Sorry forgot your name but lady with the "after birth" thread thats a great idea cos it is life changing and not always discussed all that much TBH.

A lot of you seem to be mentioning "getting the baby to move round".

Well as far as I know the bext way to do this is to have a (very large and long!) maternity pillow. I think it is cos it kind of props your legs up while you are sleeping and so the baby has more room to move around and is not "squashed" by the weight of your own legs or body. If you have not got one of these then a couple of large normal pillos would do, anthing to prop your legs up with. My bump moves around a lot more freely at night and I am sure thats why!!!!

Good luck to anyone "due any minute god I am so jealous!!!

babysopiniontakesover · 21/03/2007 20:44

Oh and b4 I forget that "idea" is officially endorsed by I forget who but you know, the midwives association or something!!!!!

(It works for me x)

Pesha · 21/03/2007 20:47

Mumcab - are you new too?

Ooogs - sorry you've had such a rough time today, am thinking of you.
And sorry for not saying anything nicer or more encouraging/supportive, really am brain dead today

1becomes3 · 21/03/2007 20:54

Hello ladies, just a quick post before I try and get sme sleep, was up at 3 so I am very very tired itchie and sore.

I have been lurking around today and at all the new people, welcome to the mad house

Still not one baby in sight, lets hope mammyjo and char can deliver the goods.

It is nice to see so many people back around smole and opions and any one else I haven't mentioned.

Good luck oooggs you poor thing, lets hope they decied to induce you sooner rather than later.

thanks for all the kind words, I think I would have gone mad without all of your support. Thank you all [[[hugs]]]

Fingers crossed I will be able to get some sleep tonight.

mammyjo · 21/03/2007 20:56

Hi everyone. Oooggs, thinking of you tonight. Hope you manage to get some rest, fingers crossed that those contractions keep on coming. Cannot imagine how breathless you must feel with two in there as I struggle enough with my one.

Ok, heres an update. After seeing the midwife I had gradually worsening cramping pains this afternoon to the point where I had to stop what I was doing and either sit down or lean over something. Really was taking my breath away. This was followed by very low back pain. I was really thinking that things were starting and dh even asked if I thought I should be timing how far apart the pains were. But then the law of the sod came into play and everything went quiet again. Bloody hell child, either you are coming or you are not just make up your mind and stop tantalising me!!
BTW, it was me who started the original April thread, had totally forgotten about that! Seems like forever ago.

Welcome to any more new people I didnt mention earlier. Cant believe we have so many new mates in one day!

mammyjo · 21/03/2007 20:57

Fingers crossed for a good sleep 1b3. Sending you sleep vibes ((((((((())))))))))

Pesha · 21/03/2007 21:08

Mammyjo - what a bugger! Think id be going mad if i were you! I remeber with dd having regular contractions all the friday night that then stopped sat morning, started again sat night/sun morn and were every 15 mins til the morning when i thought they'd stopped but then were every hour and a half or so, gradually increasing til she was born at 7.14 monday morning. So hopefully you've just gone quiet temporarily and it'll kick off again over next couple days Would be great if you were to start the first april 07 post natal thread after starting the first ante natal!

mammyjo · 21/03/2007 21:14

Its just so frustating. I never had any of this with ds as my waters just broke one night with him and that was me started. I feel like it could be any day now but at the same time this has been niggling away for over 2 weeks already so who knows? Things are definitely getting more intense so hoping that is a good sign!

Birdiebump · 21/03/2007 21:16

Wot - still no babies?? And 4 newbies - welcome to PHD, Nellyhel, Lusciouslady and Mumcab! You are obviously like buses (well, let's face it, at the moment so are we all....) none for ages then 4 come along at once .

So Ooogs, Mammyjo and Charnbump are looking to be the most imminent. Getting v excited about celebrating the first one on our thread.

All quiet here even though I think bump has grown again and now looks likely to rival DS2 (10lbs) in size. Still maybe she will break the mould and come early (due 12th) although no signs of anything happening anytime soon.

Am loving the "torch". Want one!

mammyjo · 21/03/2007 21:24

Hi Birdie, hope you are ok.

Just had another pain. Want to call it a contraction but dont know whether its a proper one or not really, just know it hurts! Am going to go to bed now and try and get some sleep as am bloody fed up. See you all tomorrow xx

Birdiebump · 21/03/2007 21:28

Sleep well Mammyjo. Or have the baby. Whichever.

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 21/03/2007 21:30

Evening all. Welcome to mumcab - so many new ladies in one day! I hope you enjoy this lovely thread.

Ooogs, sorry to hear you are having such an awful time, and hope that things get moving.

1b3, likewise - have been thinking about you a lot today.

Mammyjo, hope you aren't getting too frustrated by it all.

Big hugs to everyone else.

Had a crap evening tonight. Dh comes home and B plays up. Normally he is very patient with her, but tonight he was awful. Anyway to cut a long story short, there were floods of tears - me included - and I now feel really down. I had such a lovely day with her, and once again I know dh and I are supposed to support each other, I just feel quite hacked off that it all went out the window and the day finshed so dreadfully. I just want to go and cuddle her to bits, but won't as will wake her up. I need to think of a way of feeding back to dh without sounding like I am being patronising. Joy!

Anyway, sorry for going off on a tangent, but I feel so bad for Becky.
